Chapter 20 - 20. Secrets Revealed

"You're from the Clear Sky Sect, aren't you?" Huo Yuhao said firmly. "Your second martial soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, the clan's exclusive spirit and once the number one Tool Martial Soul on the continent."

Exposed about both his twin martial souls and his background, Wang Dong would normally press Yuhao for answers.

But now…

"That's it? Just that?" Wang Dong asked.

"You still hiding more secrets?" Yuhao countered in confusion.

Wang Dong stared into Yuhao's eyes. To his surprise, they were actually… rather beautiful.

With the Spirit Eye patterns faintly shimmering, his gaze carried a warmth that was almost mesmerizing.

Wait—what am I thinking?! He quickly shook his head, tossing aside the strange thought.

Good. Confirmed.

This idiot's eyes were clear—confused and dumb. No way he had figured out her true gender.

Relief washed over her.

Instead, she became intrigued by Yuhao's so-called "white spirit ring."

"Don't worry," Wang Dong said solemnly.

"On the honor of the Clear Sky Sect, I swear today's conversation won't leave this room."

Yuhao lifted a finger to his brow.

First Soul Skill—Spiritual Sharing!

[Huo Yuhao: This is my first skill, Spiritual Sharing. I can transmit thoughts directly into your mind.]

First Soul Skill—Spiritual Detection!

A god's-eye perspective bloomed in their minds. Every object in the dorm became vividly clear.

[Huo Yuhao: And this is still part of my first skill—Spiritual Detection. I can scan the area around me.]

Wang Dong: "???"

What the heck?

A ten-year soul ring… with two skills?

That wasn't even possible with a hundred-thousand-year soul ring!

Then his spirit flickered—he suddenly saw Yuhao three meters away, even though Yuhao hadn't moved at all.

[Huo Yuhao: This is Spiritual Interference. It makes enemies misjudge my position, so their attacks miss.]

Wang Dong: "!!!"

Three skills? From one ring?!

[Huo Yuhao: And lastly, Spiritual Shock. It directly damages the opponent's mind—it's what stunned you the other day.]

Four. Four soul skills from a single ring.

"Impossible!" Wang Dong shook his head violently.

"One soul ring can't give four skills! Not even a hundred-thousand-year ring could do that! Unless… unless…"

He recalled half-joking conversations between his two uncles. His mouth opened.

"A… million—"

He stopped himself, clapping a hand over his mouth.

"I've already sealed the room with spiritual power. No sound can escape." Yuhao said calmly. "Yes. It's a million-year soul ring. That's why I have four skills."

Even hearing it from Yuhao's lips, Wang Dong still struggled to believe.

A million-year ring?! That could only come from a million-year soul beast.

And Yuhao was just a level 15…

Wait. No—when he first enrolled, Yuhao was only level 11!

Wang Dong caught the bug instantly.

"You mean… you absorbed a million-year ring, and only gained one level?"

"That's… a long story."

Yuhao briefly told his childhood tale—fleeing the duke's manor, his desperate journey, the fateful encounter in Star Dou Forest.

Of course, he concealed Zhuge Lan and the gray-gold sphere's existence.

Even so, Wang Dong's head spun. It took him a long time to digest everything before he reluctantly accepted Yuhao's "miracle."

His eyes turned complicated.

And then, unable to hold back, he asked outright:

"With such a secret… why tell me?"

"Even though you say the soul beast didn't give you a bone, but an empty second martial soul instead… if I don't believe you, and call the clan to take that soul bone by force, what would you do?"

Yuhao didn't mention Zhuge Lan's support.

He simply looked straight into Wang Dong's eyes, voice steady:

"Because I trust you."

The heat and sincerity in that gaze made Wang Dong's heart skip a beat.

She quickly turned her eyes away, unable to look at him.

"I… I understand."

Her flustered, almost girlish demeanor puzzled Yuhao.

Wait. Isn't this the part where he punches me in the chest and declares 'Brothers for life!'?

Why does it feel more like, 'One bed, one lifetime' instead?!

"…Fine. Then I'll lay my cards down too." Wang Dong said at last, locking eyes with Yuhao. "My two uncles are the sect master and vice master of the Clear Sky Sect. My disguise was flawless… but you still saw through it."

As expected, Yuhao's pupils shrank, his face plastered with awe and disbelief.

Wang Dong's lips curled in satisfaction.

Perfect. That shocked look would keep him smiling for a month.

Meanwhile, Yuhao's head buzzed.

Sect master's child? That meant Wang Dong was the Clear Sky Sect's young heir!

Heaven help him. What luck, to end up roommates with such a monster…

And there was more—

"Ahem!" Yuhao forced himself to calm down. "The reason I revealed so much to you is because… there's another reason."

Wang Dong tilted his head. "Well? Out with it."

Yuhao extended his hand.

"Put yours on top."

Wang Dong eyed him warily. Did this idiot actually figure out she was a girl?

"What are you doing? Two guys, holding hands in the dorm? Don't tell me you've got some… hobby?"

Yuhao burst out laughing. "You're the one who's been acting all delicate! I mean Martial Soul Fusion."

"Oh." Wang Dong froze, then smacked his fist into his palm. "That explains it. When we linked through Spiritual Sharing earlier, I did feel your aura fit with mine."

"So it's a fusion skill!"

"Your mutated Spirit Eyes really are something, even figuring that out. Amazing!"

"Come on, let's test it!"

He reached out and, in his excitement, their fingers naturally intertwined.

The air instantly grew… ambiguous.

Yuhao didn't notice, simply closed his eyes and circulated soul power through their joined hands.

Wang Dong could feel it—his own soul power responding, thrumming with joy.

But something was still off. The resonance wouldn't lock.

Inside Yuhao's spiritual sea, Zhuge Lan chuckled. He quietly spent ten fortune points to block the fusion for now.

Wang Dong frowned thoughtfully. "Maybe my aura's being restrained by another force. That's why the initial contract is harder."

"Then what do we do? Should we… get closer?" Yuhao asked innocently.

"Alright. Hug me."

"H-hug? Like, straight up hug? Should we… take off clothes first?"

"No!!" Wang Dong's eyes widened. "Two naked men pressed together—forget the fusion, I'd rather die!"

Yuhao's mind betrayed him, conjuring the mental image—Wang Dong's pale, slender figure pressed against his own equally delicate body…

Worst of all, they were still in Spiritual Sharing!

"Yuhao! Stop your filthy thoughts!!!"

Yuhao gave a sheepish grin, then spread his arms, stepping forward to embrace Wang Dong.

At once, he felt Wang Dong's body stiffen, her mind blanking. Probably disgusted by the very image she had just scolded him for.

And in that moment, Zhuge Lan released his restraint.

In the next heartbeat, both of them jolted as if struck by lightning.

Oh no—

It's…
