Chapter 47 - 47. Don’t Touch Me Unless You’ve Bathed! The Most Lethal Weapon Is the Imagination!

Click—

The lock didn't turn. It was bolted from the inside.

"I knew it!" came Wang Dong's smug voice from within. "Wait a bit, I'll be done in a few minutes."

"Fine, I'll wait at the usual spot then," Huo Yuhao muttered. "We're both men, what's there to be afraid of?"

He went back to the big tree in front of the dormitory, pulled out four books, and flipped through them with his spiritual telekinesis.

That session lasted more than half an hour, three rounds of books gone through already, before Wang Dong finally arrived, late as always.

"You've got no sense of time at all. Did you pick that up from Xiao Xiao?" Huo Yuhao complained. "I used to think only girls were troublesome, but you—you're a grown man and still—"

"Hey!" Wang Dong snapped. "We haven't seen each other for a month, and you're still as annoying as ever!"

"Oh right, it's been a month since we last did dual cultivation. Hurry up and let me get a sip!" Huo Yuhao spread his arms, going in for a hug.

Wang Dong quickly dodged backward, his face full of disgust.

"I just bathed! Stay away from me!"

"C'mon, we'll both be sweaty again after dual cultivation anyway. What's the point?"

"I don't care! If you don't bathe, don't touch me!"

Huo Yuhao frowned in confusion.

How come after just a month apart, this Wang Dong's clean-freak tendencies had gotten even worse?

"Fine then, I'll go shower first."

He flew back to the dorm.

As soon as he entered, he saw Wang Dong's bed covered with freshly laid fur blankets, several sets of clothes scattered about, and a tall full-body mirror propped up beside it.

So that's why Wang Dong had taken so long earlier—trying on clothes?

Wait.

You're a man, and this obsessed with appearances?

Shaking his head, Huo Yuhao headed to the bathroom.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Zhuge Lan sighed. "The little cutie's right there in front of you, and you won't even sneak a peek?"

"What's a 'little cutie'?" Tianmeng Iceworm asked in confusion.

"It's what girls wear underneath—it's like a dudou."

"They still need something to wrap that up?" The Iceworm scratched his chin.

"People and beasts aren't built the same," Zhuge Lan teased. "Like you—you run around naked every day, but people can't do that."

The Iceworm didn't catch on, only nodding thoughtfully.

Electrolux's lips curved into a faint smile.

Suddenly, he wasn't so eager to create that second spiritual sea. With Zhuge Lan around, the experience was… unexpectedly amusing.

Huo Yuhao showered quickly and came out wrapped in a towel.

He found Wang Dong bent over, rummaging through his own bed.

"You're back," Huo Yuhao greeted.

Startled, Wang Dong shot straight up like a frightened rabbit, leaping nearly three meters high, almost smacking into the ceiling.

Landing, he turned, eyes filled with wounded reproach—but then his gaze froze.

Three months of self-discipline had transformed Huo Yuhao's physique.

Clothes on, he looked lean. Clothes off, he was solid with muscles like chiseled stone, his abs sharp enough to scrub laundry on.

Wang Dong's eyes locked on him, stupefied for several seconds before he snapped back, shrieking and covering his face.

"Y-y-you—why aren't you wearing clothes!?"

"I left them back in the dorm earlier," Huo Yuhao replied casually. "Besides, I've got a towel on. Don't make it sound like I'm naked."

When put that way, it almost made sense.

Wang Dong lowered his hands.

And then Huo Yuhao yanked off the towel to put on his clothes right there at the wardrobe.

Good lord!

Caught completely off guard, Wang Dong flushed bright red, frozen like a glitched-out puppet, staring blankly.

It wasn't until Huo Yuhao finished dressing and turned around that he noticed the expression.

Raising a brow, he asked, "What, feeling insecure?"

Wang Dong's mind instantly recalled the sight—

"AHHHHH!!!"

"GET OUT!!!"

His soul power erupted, sending gales roaring through the room.

Huo Yuhao was blown straight out of the dorm, the door slamming shut with a heavy thud.

He stood there, dumbfounded.

"Just because mine's bigger? No need to get all flustered about it."

"ROLL!!!"

Huo Yuhao shrugged. Just another of Wang Dong's daily meltdowns. He decided to head back under the big tree to cultivate.

On the long-abandoned recliner lay a familiar figure.

"Teacher, you're back!"

"Yuhao, come here. Let me see how much you've progressed," Mu En beckoned.

Huo Yuhao obediently stepped forward and let him probe his cultivation.

"Not bad, not bad. You've clearly wasted no time," Mu En said with satisfaction. "You've even broken through to Rank 20 soul power? When did that happen?"

"Half a month ago, Teacher," Yuhao replied proudly. "With the Vajra Arhat Fruit you gave me, I've already mastered the first stage of the Muscle Transformation Manual. Now I'm cultivating the second stage."

—The second stage had cost him 95,000 destiny points, completely draining his balance at the time!

Mu En nodded with relief.

"Excellent. Once your freshman exam ends, I'll take you to a special place. It took me quite some effort to locate it."

"But first, let's test your theory work."

After a round of questioning, Mu En grew more and more astonished.

In just over a month, Huo Yuhao had already absorbed everything on the "Wall of Books" and even moved on to a fresh set of subjects—many of which already touched upon the inner court's exam scope.

His progress was astonishing.

The mutation of his spiritual power into spiritual telekinesis… who would've thought it'd make him a genius in learning as well?

Mu En recalled that demigod from the past—whose spiritual fluctuations felt similar, who had seen through Mu En's impending death at a glance.

Could it be…

Huo Yuhao's martial soul mutation, his spiritual mutation… were they both the work of that demigod, ensuring a successor for his legacy?

Wait—no.

A demigod shouldn't even exist purely by human strength. Only those devoutly blessed by a deity could take that half-step at Rank 99.

Could Huo Yuhao have been chosen by a true god, being groomed as a successor?

Very likely!

Thinking his disciple might one day become a god, Mu En's heart blazed with passion.

And a new idea emerged.

"Yuhao, your studies progress so quickly. Have you considered trying to become a Soul Engineer?" Mu En asked.

Huo Yuhao blinked.

He hadn't even mentioned it yet, and Teacher had just handed him the opportunity.

"Disciple has indeed been thinking along those lines. The Muscle Transformation Manual now runs automatically in daily life, and I've absorbed most martial soul theory. With the spare time, I'd like to try studying soul tools—it feels like it could be rewarding."

"Oh, and Brother Lan is also a Soul Engineer. He even said he gave me an 11th-rank soul tool, but I still haven't found it anywhere. I think he was tricking me."

Huo Yuhao grumbled.

But Mu En believed it without question.

—Something so important, that demigod would never joke about.

The only reason Huo Yuhao hadn't found it was either because his level was too low to activate it, or because it was a passive defense tool that would only appear in danger.

Either way, it strengthened his resolve to send Huo Yuhao to the Soul Engineering Department.

"Excellent."

"I also heard from Shaozhe that you've learned a new set of Taichi. Show me."

"No need to recite the formulas."

Huo Yuhao nodded quickly and began to practice.

Meanwhile, he muttered inwardly:

"Brother Lan, why'd you have to mention that 11th-rank soul tool? Tricking Teacher like that isn't right…"

"Of course it's to set up a foreshadowing," Zhuge Lan retorted. "…"
