By noon, the employees of the tower had long since left for the day; only the ground floor security office still had its lights on. Cecilia claimed she was an office worker returning to retrieve some documents. Coincidentally, tonight the guard on duty was an intern, who let her in without checking her ID badge.
Just as she entered the elevator, Blaze and his team arrived. Using the service stairs, they went straight up to the 26th floor. Blaze himself went with the police to the building's surveillance room to check the cameras.
When he saw Cecilia entering the elevator, his heart skipped a beat. He hurriedly grabbed his phone and called her.
"Hello?" The signal inside the elevator was weak, cutting in and out.
"Where are you?" Blaze forced his voice to sound calm, keeping his eyes glued to the elevator feed while trying to stop her. "The signal is bad—find a spot near a window. I have something important to tell you."
