Chapter 37 - 37: Twin Loop Mountain Road

The operation was absolutely breathtaking.

Viewers in front of their TVs gaped in disbelief, staring at the Silver Marauder. Even those working overtime abandoned their desks, completely transfixed by the live broadcast.

Another drift. Eight ten-meter-long blue flames shot from the rear.

According to calculations: under constant air density and car shape, a car would need to reach 900 mph to lift off on a regular road.

The Silver Marauder had already reached 700 mph, and with nitrous fully engaged, it exceeded 900 mph. At such extreme speeds, executing a mid-air drift through a curve became plausible.

Adding inertial balance made hovering through the turn almost effortless for Leon.

The true challenge: bringing the car safely back onto the road after the drift without being flung off the cliff. This demanded supreme skill. Even Leon had to hold his breath, controlling the vehicle with utmost precision. One misstep and the Silver Marauder would careen off the mountain.

Now!

Leon's eyes blazed. He maneuvered the steering wheel, adjusting the car's arc, and smoothly returned the Silver Marauder to the mountain path.

"Phew…" Leon exhaled, palms sweaty.

Even the most skilled driver would find such a turn nerve-wracking. One slip, and the result was a wrecked car and a tragic death.

Viewers at home collectively held their breaths. Any slight mistake could send the car plummeting. The height wasn't extreme, but a fall could easily cause paralysis—far worse than death for some.

"This technique is insane!"

"Unbelievable! He actually made it through!"

"I don't even respect walls anymore, just him!"

"Next up: the twin-loop mountain road!"

Veteran viewers recognized the route and felt a surge of excitement. Traditionally, drivers took extreme caution, relying on prior experience. Some passed, others failed.

But Leon's aggressive drifting? Unprecedented. He was the first.

Ahead lay a double-layered loop road, circling the mountain twice before switching direction. The final, most dangerous challenge awaited. Success depended entirely on driver skill and car performance.

The twin-loop mountain road was extremely perilous. Continuous curves and narrow lanes meant Leon had to maintain the hovering drift for two full laps. Was it even possible?

Millions of viewers wondered, and yet felt a rush of anticipation—what if he succeeded?

Viewership soared to 6%—the highest ratings of the night. Not a single viewer switched channels. Everyone was captivated by Leon's god-tier skills.

Trish, exhilarated, saw hope where there had been despair. The channel's ratings had been declining for years, even prompting talk of closure. Tonight, Leon might just save the network. Trish silently vowed to interview him once he stopped.

The roaring engine brought her back to reality. Leon was about to ascend the twin-loop mountain road, building speed for the climb.

"This speed…" Trish gasped, unable to speak.

The Silver Marauder barreled forward like a film in high-speed mode. One wheel clung to the cliff edge—any slip and disaster would strike. In that situation, only Leon had the courage to accelerate.

"Go!"

Leon's eyes blazed. Adrenaline surged, his pores opened in perfect euphoria, the pressure just right. Pure exhilaration.

The curve was in sight. Leon tapped the electronic handbrake, gently adjusted the wheel, and began drifting again. Eight blue nitrous flames roared from the rear, wild and defiant.

It was as if he were taunting every other driver on Earth: he was the undisputed best.

Viewers erupted in cheers. The wheels hovered once more, conquering the mountain with sheer technique. Half the car drifted above the road! Incredible skill.

Audience hearts were in their throats, completely awestruck. This was a direct slap to the entire racing world. Countless self-proclaimed top drivers now had to eat humble pie.

Viewership hit 7%. More and more people were awestruck by Leon's mastery.

Two laps of the mountain loop were neither short nor long. Yet under Leon's precise control, he completed the ascent in under a minute. Deep tire tracks marked the muddy road—spectacular, thrilling, and historic.

Those tire marks could one day become a pilgrimage site for racers, legendary in lore. Today, it might become reality.

Leon successfully reached the mountain summit—the highest point. Ahead, only a single path remained.

And it was broken. Over ten meters of gap… could he clear it?
