Chapter 54 - 54: PY Deal

They were on the West Coast, New York on the East Coast. The two cities were 4,500 kilometers apart, passing through Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, and other cities along the way—from green oases to deserts, then back to urban green.

Normally, driving that distance would take over forty hours, not including rest at night. A journey that long for just two women, without flying, was extremely risky. Even in supercars, maintaining a constant 200 km/h would still take more than a day. A full day gave Eteon Corporation plenty of time to act.

"How do you even know the scientist on the East Coast?" Leon asked, curious.

"Previously, he was Eteon's chief scientist developing the Snowflake Virus. But he discovered Eteon's real intentions and escaped, traveling through various cities to finally reach New York," Hattie explained.

"That's interesting… everything you know, Eteon must know too," Leon noted. Hattie froze.

Indeed, if a spy like her knew these details, there was no way Eteon didn't already. They had likely anticipated everything in advance. If they didn't act before Eteon's people did, any chance to stop the virus would be lost.

"Or maybe they deliberately let you know," Leon said with an amused look.

It made sense. They knew Hattie would try to remove the virus, and the only way was through that scientist. By leaking information, they could lure her into a trap and capture her easily—no complicated pursuit needed. If Leon were in their position, he would have done the same.

Hattie's mind raced; the thought sent chills down her spine. If not for Leon, they might have already walked into a trap.

"What do we do?" she panicked, pacing like ants on a hot pan. The scientist was the only one who could remove the virus. But ahead lay a trap—moving forward or retreating were equally dangerous.

"You have no choice but to move forward," Leon said, smiling. Without him, the two women couldn't have completed this mission. No matter how modified her Porsche was, Elena could never reach 500 km/h. Realistically, she would only reach slightly over 250 km/h, taking at least twenty hours straight, without sleep, to cover the distance.

But with Leon's Diomas, everything changed. A top speed of 900 km/h, something only Leon dared to handle—it was as fast as a plane, even faster. They could cover the 4,500 km in just five to six hours, saving three times the normal time. Charging them 30 million for this? A steal.

"Don't worry. With me here, your mission will succeed," Leon confidently said. "Thirty million is worth every penny."

No one else in America had a car this fast, nor anyone capable of driving at 900 km/h—only Leon. The women had no better choice. Thirty million wasn't impossible to pay; Elena nodded.

"This enemy is formidable. Be careful," Elena warned. But her caution was unnecessary; Leon was equally formidable.

"No one alive yet can keep up with me," Leon said smugly, whistling. He retrieved the car keys from the drawer.

"Let's go. We'll leave before sunset," he said. Driving at night meant fewer vehicles on the road, smoother conditions, and higher speeds. Combined with nitrous, they would arrive ahead of schedule.

The three of them left the room and approached the garage housing the Diomas. The electric gate slowly rose, revealing the black front of the Diomas.

Suddenly, the sound of high-speed engines and roaring motorcycles echoed through the street. A convoy was coming their way.

"They're here!" Elena exclaimed.

"They arrived faster than expected," Hattie assumed a defensive stance. Both women were ready to fight, imagining themselves invincible.

"Don't waste time. Get inside the car—the windows and body are bulletproof," Leon instructed. After multiple upgrades, the Diomas' body, windows, and tires were impervious to bullets. Inside, they would be safe; as long as he didn't make reckless moves, the convoy couldn't harm them.

Leon pressed the key to open the doors, which lifted dramatically, like Batman's Batmobile. Both women's eyes lit up in admiration.

"Get in," Leon said with authority.

"You come too," Hattie grabbed his hand.

"Let's leave before they catch up," Elena added.

Leon scoffed, "I'll make sure they don't dare to chase us."

The best way was to strike them first—disable or intimidate them—so they couldn't pursue. That way, Leon would remain in control.
