Chapter 56 - 56: Frenzied Gunfire

Brixton wasn't just some thug—he was a cybernetically enhanced soldier. His skeleton and spine had been replaced with reinforced metal, his muscles chemically augmented for raw, monstrous power. Even his eyes weren't human anymore—artificial lenses that could scan, track, and predict an opponent's every move with frightening precision.

In one-on-one combat, Brixton had never lost.

No fighter had ever been able to dodge once his electronic eyes locked onto them.

But now… standing before Leon, those very same eyes faltered.

The speed.

The reflexes.

The sheer unpredictability.

Brixton couldn't compute it. His AI couldn't keep up. Leon's movement broke every calculation, every predictive model.

Worse—when Brixton unleashed his punch, a strike with the force of a compact car collision—Leon caught it. With one hand. Effortlessly.

Brixton froze. That's impossible.

Was his system malfunctioning? Was his strength output compromised?

No—this man was simply stronger.

Leon smirked coldly, voice like steel:

"In my territory, you'd better learn some manners."

Before Brixton could react, Leon grabbed him by the belt and lifted him off the ground like a ragdoll. Brixton thrashed, hammering his fists against Leon's arm—but it was like striking solid iron. Nothing. No effect.

For the first time since his "upgrade," Brixton felt fear. Is this guy… another enhanced human? Stronger than Eteon's own tech?

"No way… impossible!" Brixton's mind screamed in disbelief.

Leon sneered:

"What happened? Weren't you the one acting like king of the world just a second ago? Where's all that arrogance now?"

The soldiers around them froze. Their so-called invincible leader, Brixton Lore, was being held up like a chicken about to be slaughtered.

"Let him go!" they shouted, raising rifles.

Leon chuckled. "You want him back? Sure. Catch."

With a brutal kick, Leon sent Brixton flying.

The enhanced soldier crashed through three men and slammed against the side of a Range Rover (2010 model). The impact shattered glass and caved in the door panel, leaving the SUV a mangled wreck.

Brixton roared in pain. His systems were failing, warnings screaming inside his body. No one had ever injured him this badly since his transformation.

Meanwhile, Leon dove behind a sofa, rolled smoothly, and drew his handgun.

Then came the symphony of death.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

Each shot was deliberate, precise, merciless. A soldier's head snapped back, crimson spraying from his helmet. Another collapsed before he could even raise his rifle.

In seconds, five men were down.

The survivors shouted and opened fire, but Leon was already gone—sliding into the shadows of the garage, using cover like a predator stalking prey. Their bullets shredded furniture, sparks flying as rounds tore into steel and concrete.

"Bastard!!" Brixton snarled, clutching his side. "Do you know who you're dealing with? We are Eteon! The most advanced organization on Earth. You're just a damn mechanic!"

Leon's eyes flashed. He wasn't just angry now—he was furious.

A hidden turret descended from the ceiling, connected to Leon's custom setup. He gripped the controls, rage boiling over.

"You want to see what a 'mechanic' can do? Fine. DIE!"

The heavy machine gun roared to life, spitting fire like a dragon.

Bullets ripped through the air, smashing into the floor, walls, and armored SUVs. Sparks and blood mixed as the garage became a storm of steel.

Soldiers screamed, bodies riddled with rounds. The survivors tried to scatter, but Leon's aim was unrelenting—surgical, terrifying. Each burst found its target.

Within thirty seconds, more than twenty men lay dead or dying.

The ones who had swaggered in so arrogantly were now scrambling like terrified dogs.

Leon laughed, the sound echoing like thunder.

"What happened? Weren't you all mocking me just now? Where's the trash talk? Keep it up! Eteon… don't make me laugh!"

He kept firing, the machine gun chewing through steel and flesh alike.

The soldiers had no answer. They were pinned, shredded, broken.

For the first time, Brixton looked less like a super-soldier… and more like prey.
