Chapter 163 - 163: The Price of Showing Off

Helicopters always hold the advantage in the air.

For anyone fighting on the ground, they're a huge threat — they can hit you with ease, while you struggle to fight back.

Leon had to take them out first.

If he didn't, things would get very troublesome.

"Momo, can you try hacking the helicopters? Take control of them if possible." Leon asked.

He suddenly remembered something —

Ramsey could invade systems through God's Eye.

Now that Diomas was equipped with God's Eye, theoretically Momo should be able to do the same, and even do it better.

"Initializing God's Eye… attempting to hack the aircraft systems…" Momo replied.

Modern helicopters rely heavily on electronic systems —

electronic ignition, digital controls, flight computers.

As long as there is a system, God's Eye can invade it.

The pilot of helicopter "723" was still trying to chase Leon.

Suddenly, something felt wrong.

His controls were getting stiffer…

Sluggish…

Almost like the helicopter was about to lose control.

"What the hell?"

The pilot panicked and tried adjusting the cyclic and pedals.

No reaction.

The helicopter just kept flying straight, as if ignoring him.

He glanced at the other choppers —

same problem.

All of them were stuck in a straight, perfect formation.

The other pilots had noticed too.

They looked at each other, confused, shrugging with baffled expressions.

Moses also saw the pilots panicking.

A chill climbed up his spine.

From the moment they started chasing Leon,

everything had been going wrong.

He was starting to regret acting so rashly —

he should've investigated Leon's background first.

If Leon survived today…

and retaliated…

Moses' empire would be in danger.

All for a single God's Eye device —

now even his own life was at risk.

"What's happening now? Another problem?" Moses asked, voice trembling.

"Report— the helicopter systems are failing. Nearly all functions have crashed…" the pilot stammered.

"WHAT!?"

Moses' head buzzed, face turning pale.

They were still airborne, and at high speed.

If the aircraft malfunctioned…

They would crash and die.

Moses' forehead broke out in cold sweat.

He didn't want to end his life like this.

They hadn't been hit by EMP.

So why were the flight systems failing?

Before he could react—

The helicopter suddenly tilted.

Then it began rotating.

And then, incredibly, it turned around on its own.

Heading back in the opposite direction.

"It… it turned around by itself!!!" the pilot shouted, terrified.

He hadn't touched anything.

Which meant—

Their helicopters had been taken over remotely.

He was horrified.

Never in his life had he heard of an aircraft being completely hacked.

And the people onboard these helicopters weren't ordinary.

This was Moses, the leader of the terrorist syndicate.

Down below—

General Jim, Moses' second‑in‑command and the man in charge of the ground assault, was sitting comfortably in a military truck, smoking a cigar.

Rugged build.

Huge frame.

A Black man with a vicious temperament.

He commanded the ground troops to encircle Leon, while Moses attacked from above.

Together, they had set a near‑perfect trap.

"Heh, with this formation, they're absolutely screwed today," Jim said smugly, blowing out smoke like he was on vacation.

"General, maybe we shouldn't underestimate them…"

The driver, Green, said cautiously.

He was young, baby‑faced, clearly new.

Jim smacked him on the back of the head.

"What the hell do you know? They're just some damn mechanics. One shot and I could blow them all sky‑high!"

He didn't bother hiding his contempt for Leon's team.

Big talk, chest puffed, pure arrogance.

"So what if they can drive?

Can they outrun missiles?"

"Pah! They're not even qualified to lick my boots!"

Jim sneered.

"When I was tuning engines, these kids were still drinking milk!"

He couldn't be more arrogant.

Green opened his mouth, wanting to argue.

But Jim glared at him —

if he said one more word, he'd be killed.

Green swallowed his words and forced a dry smile.

In the KB organization, low‑ranked members were disposable.

He couldn't afford to die for talking back.

Jim nodded in satisfaction.

Suddenly —

Ahead of them appeared five helicopters.

The same ones Moses had been flying.

"Huh? Why are the bosses coming back?" Jim muttered.

Then quickly grew excited.

"Must've eliminated the targets already!

See? Just like I said — they're nothing but mechanics!

Hahahaha! We're unstoppable!"

He burst into triumphant laughter, already picturing Leon's team being blown into pieces.

He thought KB's firepower was invincible —

even the army feared them.

How could "some mechanics" compare?

Just as his ego reached full inflation—

"Boss… something's wrong," Green whispered, uneasy.

"Shut up! Say one more word and I'll blow your brains out," Jim snapped.

What, did he think Moses couldn't kill a few nobodies?

But something was wrong.

"Sir… the walkie‑talkie is silent. Command hasn't said anything," Green said carefully.

If Moses had finished the mission,

he would have reported it.

But there was only… silence.

Jim swallowed nervously.

"Uh… I'll call them."

He grabbed the radio.

"Boss? It's Jim. Why are you returning?

Boss?

Boss??"

—ssshhhh—

Only static.

Jim tried again.

Still static.

"What the hell…?" Jim muttered, confused.

And then—

Before anyone understood what had happened—

The five helicopters suddenly fired.

Thirty‑five missiles launched at once.

White smoke trails.

Blazing fire.

A thunderous roar.

Their target:

Jim's entire ground convoy.

"WHAT THE F*CK!?"

Jim screamed, face turning instantly green.
