"Bzzz..." The Tadpole Drum emitted a resonant hum as a massive bird formed from coalescing lightning took shape. Its beak gleamed with a metallic sheen, and with each flap of its wings, concentric rings of electricity exploded outward. The creature soared into the sky before diving sharply toward Bahr with a piercing shriek.
Yet when the Thunderbird reached within a meter of Bahr, it collided with an invisible barrier, exploding into a shower of sparks with a loud crackle.
"Tch, not even as good as a sparrow." Bahr brushed non-existent dust from his shoulder, his mocking grin undisguised. "Kid, did you skip breakfast or something?"
"Unforgivable!" Enel's body erupted with lightning at the blatant taunt, his drum pounding like war drums. "60 Million Volt Thunder Dragon!"
In an instant, a dragon of pure lightning roared forth from the drum, its body wreathed in crackling electricity as it lunged at Bahr with jaws wide open. The mighty strike crashed against the Space Barrier, sending ripples through the surrounding space. After several seconds of stalemate, the dragon's form shattered into countless arcs of wild electricity.
Enel's pupils contracted sharply, disbelief written across his face. His lightning was supposed to be invincible—why was it completely ineffective against this "insect"? It was as if some invisible wall blocked all his attacks.
"That's it? You're not even qualified to polish my shoes." Bahr scoffed, tilting his chin up arrogantly before pointing a finger. "Open those dog eyes of yours wide—let me show you real power. Space Cage!"
A sudden tension gripped Enel's chest. He couldn't comprehend what was happening, only sensing the space around him abruptly solidifying as if he'd been stuffed into an invisible glass jar. Even the flow of air seemed to freeze.
"Thunder Beast!"
With a furious shout, electricity burst from his drum, forming a massive wolf wreathed in lightning. The beast's eyes burned with fury as it charged at Bahr—only to collide with an unseen wall halfway and dissipate into a shower of sparks.
"What?!" Enel's shock turned to rage as he swung his golden staff, wreathed in thunderous power, against the cage walls. Yet all it produced were watery ripples. His body flared with electricity as he transformed into a blue-purple arrow, slamming into the barrier with full force.
BOOM! The deafening impact sent spiderweb cracks across the transparent wall, but in the blink of an eye, the fractures vanished like receding tides.
"Tch." Bahr sneered. "See? You're nothing but a trapped rat now. Struggle all you want—entertain me!"
The mocking laughter needled at Enel's nerves, his temples throbbing with rage. Completely unhinged, his body erupted with dozens of lightning snakes as thick as barrels, thrashing wildly against the cage.
Each impact sent ripples across the Space Barrier. In the scorching air, Enel's hoarse roars mingled with the shrieks of electricity as the dignity of a "god" crumbled piece by piece with his shattered lightning.
Nearby, Pagaya's eyes widened in shock, his entire body trembling. "How... how is this possible? That's the god!"
He watched the frenzied lightning crashing inside the cage—the same god who once trod upon storm clouds and made all of Sky Island kneel—now reduced to a grasshopper trapped in a glass bottle. Each desperate strike sent ripples across the transparent walls, yet escape remained impossible.
Bahr deliberately brushed non-existent strands of hair from his forehead, his tone dripping with mockery. "What 'god'? Just a frog squatting at the bottom of Sky Island's well, croaking away..."
He didn't deny Enel's strength—the Rumble-Rumble Fruit was considered one of the pinnacles of Logia-type fruits, combining the speed of light with the destructive power of thunder. In terms of potential alone, it wasn't inferior to Admiral Kizaru's Glint-Glint Fruit.
But no matter how powerful the fruit, it depended on the user. Enel's arrogance had led him into a fatal misconception—over-reliance on his fruit abilities while neglecting physical combat and Haki training.
His "Mind Net" was indeed a form of Observation Haki, but he stopped there, never mastering even basic Armament Haki. Such imbalance made him woefully inadequate against true powerhouses.
That said, the Rumble-Rumble Fruit's abilities were indeed broken. With just the fruit alone, anyone could easily reach the level of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
In terms of speed, it rivaled light itself. In terms of destructive power, few could withstand its thunderous onslaught—it was practically the perfect configuration for innate strength.
But Enel had the misfortune of encountering Bahr.
"Space reigns supreme." On equal footing, lightning was slightly inferior to space manipulation—let alone when Bahr's overall strength surpassed Enel's.
Back when he faced Garp, those punches had nearly shattered Bahr's confidence. It wasn't that his abilities were lacking—he'd simply met a true "monster." But against Enel? More than enough.
As the saying went, "Haki reigns above all."
"200 Million Volt Thunder God!"
Enel's body expanded violently within the raging lightning, transforming into a several-meter-tall giant of pure electricity. Wrapped in blinding blue-white arcs, he resembled a thunder deity descended from myth.
The Space Cage trembled violently under the assault of the blue-white lightning. With Enel's furious roar, the electrical energy inside the cage surged exponentially, violently battering against the spatial walls.
ZZZZZT—!
When the currents struck the barrier, blinding white light erupted. Spiderweb cracks spread visibly across the once-smooth spatial walls, only to be forcibly pulled back by some invisible force when they reached the edges.
The thunder inside the cage continued its furious assault as Enel became the core of a massive storm. The electrical energy seemed alive, voraciously gnawing at the barriers. Each impact made the cage groan under the strain—cracks forming only to be forcibly sealed.
"Crk... crk..."
The sound of fracturing grew increasingly dense until, under another more violent surge, the deepest cracks could no longer heal. A fissure tore straight through the entire barrier with a sharp "shhhk."
With one final crisp snap, the Space Cage shattered like glass.
Bahr frowned deeply. He knew the cage's mechanics all too well—it was an independent dimension carved out by his Space Fruit abilities. In theory, not even light could penetrate it.
But even the most formidable abilities had limits. When the violent energy impact exceeded the spatial walls' tolerance threshold, the cage would explode like an overloaded glass jar.
Clearly, the sheer volume of electrical energy Enel released had directly ruptured his Space Cage.
"Zzzzt..."
The smell of scorched air filled the space as Enel shed his lightning form, dropping to one knee midair while panting heavily.
Sweat-drenched golden hair clung to his pale forehead as he suddenly looked up, eyes locking onto Bahr with manic laughter echoing through the storm. "Yahahaha... Mortal! This god is invincible!"
"Shut your mouth!"
Bahr's eyebrow twitched as space rippled around him. "I told you—keep calling yourself 'god,' and I'll smash that mouth of yours!"
Before the words fully left his mouth, his finger flicked. Enel's vision blurred—in the next instant, he was yanked right before Bahr as a Haki-coated fist tore through the air toward him. The sheer force of the punch lifted every strand of hair on his forehead, standing them on end like steel needles.
"A god's holy body shall not be defiled by insects?!"
Enel's body exploded with lightning as he transformed into a streak of white light, shooting backward to hover high above as he glared down at Bahr. His green eyes burned with violent electricity as he snarled, "Filthy insect! No matter what tricks you play, a god's majesty cannot be desecrated!"
Having learned his lesson once, he wouldn't make the same mistake again.
Enel tightened his grip on the golden staff, every nerve stretched taut from the previous humiliation. He refused to believe he could be so powerless before this man.
He was a god!
The response came as a contemptuous sneer. Space distorted abruptly as Bahr appeared before him like a ghost, another punch already whistling through the air.
Enel, now prepared, dispersed into electricity and reformed deftly to dodge, swinging his staff mockingly. "This is God's Domain! A god's will dictates lightning's path! A lowly insect like you couldn't even touch the hem of a god's robes!"
Bahr smirked inwardly. This so-called "God's Domain" was merely a carefully arranged lightning field Enel used for Teleportation via electricity.
But so what? His Space Teleportation speed wasn't the slightest bit inferior!
Bahr's figure flickered like a specter as strange spatial ripples surrounded him—in an instant, he appeared behind Enel.
Enel's pupils contracted sharply. In that split second, he transformed into lightning and darted away, leaving rampant electric currents in his wake that scorched the air with a pungent burnt smell.
In the blink of an eye, the sky became a chaotic abstract painting of fragmented afterimages and blue-purple lightning. Each intersection of light and shadow came with thunderous explosions that shook the entire airspace as the two forces clashed.
Barely dodging another attack, Enel's forehead beaded with cold sweat. He never imagined his opponent could match the ever-changing speed of lightning itself.
Gritting his teeth, Enel's body erupted with blue light like a blazing sun. "Thunderclap!"
Countless bolts of lightning screamed through the air, exploding outward from him in an umbrella-shaped shockwave that tore through the clouds.
The air itself shrieked as if the sky were howling in pain. Scorching waves rolled outward, distorting the atmosphere as temperatures skyrocketed.
"Huff... huff..."
Enel panted heavily, chest heaving as he scanned his surroundings warily—no sign of his opponent. Just as his tense nerves began to relax and a triumphant laugh started forming, an icy chill shot up his spine.
Before he could react, a Haki-coated fist pierced through space without warning, slamming squarely into his back.
Lightning and blood sprayed simultaneously as Enel shrieked, plummeting like a meteor before crashing onto the deck with a thunderous "BOOM!" Splinters and dust exploded outward from the massive crater left by the impact.
Gasping through the metallic taste of his own blood, Enel struggled to lift his head. Through blurred vision, he saw Bahr stepping leisurely from distorted space—each footfall seeming to shatter reality itself.
Sunlight poured down, casting a divine halo around Bahr's form. The radiance appeared sacred yet carried a terrifying pressure that made it seem as though he alone ruled this domain.
"Impossible..." Enel muttered, disbelief flooding his eyes. "This should be my image... I'm the true god..."
