Chapter 97 - Mukul Saves the Astra Children

The sun had barely risen over the outskirts of Astra Lys when an urgent alert reached Mukul and Anaya Nyx. A reconnaissance report indicated that two of Astra Lys' youngest prodigies—Lyra Draven and Selara Draven, the youngest of the sextuplets—had gone missing during an early morning training exercise. The children, curious and fearless, had ventured too close to a restricted experimental zone.

Mukul's heart tightened at the thought. Though he had trained with the Dravens' older siblings, he knew that Lyra and Selara's innocence made them vulnerable. Without a moment's hesitation, he and Anaya mobilized, using advanced tracking devices to locate the girls.

The forest surrounding the experimental zone was dense, the mist curling like fingers around the trees. Mukul's sharp instincts immediately detected the faint traces of the girls' energy signatures. Anaya moved silently alongside him, her eyes scanning for anomalies while Mukul's internal awareness traced every step they took.

"Over here," Mukul whispered, pointing to faint footprints partially hidden by undergrowth. They followed the trail, careful to avoid the automated security traps left active around the experimental site.

Suddenly, a soft cry echoed through the mist. Lyra's voice, filled with fear, pierced the stillness. "Selara! I'm scared!"

Mukul's pace quickened, the adrenaline coursing through him. He spotted the girls a few meters ahead—cornered near a malfunctioning experimental drone that had spun out of control. The drone, designed to simulate combat conditions, was emitting dangerous energy pulses. Lyra and Selara were frozen, unsure how to escape.

"Stay calm," Mukul called out, raising his hands. The drone's sensors locked onto him instead, recognizing his energy as a neutral override signal. With a precise combination of internal power and strategic manipulation, Mukul created a protective shield around the girls. The energy pulses struck harmlessly against the barrier, and the drone finally powered down under his control.

Lyra and Selara clung to each other, trembling. Mukul knelt before them, his voice soft. "You're safe now. Let's go home."

Anaya, ever vigilant, scanned the surrounding area for additional hazards. "I'll clear the path," she said, creating a stealth corridor that masked their departure from any surveillance or automated systems. Together, the four moved swiftly through the forest, Mukul supporting the girls while Anaya ensured no trace of their escape remained.

As they approached Astra Lys' perimeter, the girls' fear began to give way to relief. Their small hands gripped Mukul's arm, trusting him completely despite never having met him before. Lyra looked up at him with wide, innocent eyes. "Thank you, mister," she whispered.

Mukul smiled gently, ruffling her hair. "You both need to stay out of restricted areas, understood?" Selara nodded vigorously, still clinging to his arm.

Back at Astra Lys, the children were reunited with their parents, Aria and Kael Draven, and their siblings. The moment was filled with emotion—tears, laughter, and grateful embraces. Aria held Lyra and Selara close, her voice trembling with relief. "I thought I'd lost you both!"

Kael placed a protective hand on Mukul's shoulder, eyes meeting his with gratitude and admiration. "We owe you our daughters' safety," he said. Mukul nodded, maintaining his calm, low-profile demeanor, though the warmth of the reunion was unmistakable.

The sextuplets crowded around Mukul, each expressing curiosity and excitement. Elysia and Kaelen peppered him with questions about how he saved Lyra and Selara, while the younger girls could hardly contain their delight.

Anaya whispered to Mukul, a rare smile playing on her lips. "You've just earned a place in the Draven family's hearts," she said softly.

Mukul simply nodded, his focus already shifting to the next mission. But for a fleeting moment, as he watched Lyra and Selara safely return to their family, he allowed himself a quiet satisfaction. A life saved, a family reunited—small victories, yet infinitely precious in the grand tapestry of destiny.

The day ended with laughter and warmth filling the Draven household, the bond between Mukul and the children quietly cemented. Little did they know that this encounter was the first of many threads connecting Mukul, his fiancées, cousins, and the Draven family in a future shaped by trust, strategy, and destiny.
