Chapter 103 - Chapter 103

As I teased before, the first big event of the Lost Child Arc is about to drop. Nero's gearing up to throw down with the fully unleashed Miss Alphabet-Ob, the first major boss of this arc. With the battlefield boosting her, she's got the chops to go toe-to-toe with Nero. I'll do my best to make this fight epic, hoping it'll put a grin on everyone's face who's stuck with the story this far.

While I'm here, I also want to address some feedback from the comments.

First up, the choice of worlds. A lot of you have said you're not vibing with the worlds I've picked. As a writer, I'll level with you—choosing the right world is a nightmare. For one, it's gotta be a world I know inside out, or there's no way I can do it justice. Second, the power scaling has to match the protagonist. It can't be too easy, but it also can't leave Nero with no room to shine. (I'll admit, Volume 2 was a misstep—the boss was way too strong, making it tough for Nero to stand out, so I had to lean on a battle of wills instead.) And third, the world has to offer something for the protagonist to gain. Only then can I think about whether the world will click with readers.

This is probably a sore spot for infinite flow or multiverse stories. There's always gonna be someone who doesn't know or care about a chosen world. I get why some of you skip volumes—it's just how it goes.

On the flip side, I've also seen criticism about the story's tone shifting or themes feeling inconsistent. This ties back to world selection too. It's normal for the vibe to change across different worlds—an apocalyptic setting's never gonna feel like an urban one. As a writer, I can control how big that shift is to some extent, but for crossover fanworks like this, it's hard to avoid entirely.

Personally, I'm kind of a omnivore when it comes to this stuff. If it's written well, I'm down for any vibe. Even with the criticism, I think the issue's more about me not nailing the execution, not the world itself. But if the shift is too much for some of you, I totally get skipping volumes. It's tough to please everyone, and I won't know what lands until I write it.

That said, once it's written, I'm committed to seeing it through. That's just being responsible.

Guess I just need to write more, huh?
