Chapter 34 - Extra long chapter

[A/N: Sorry about this. I keep thinking I posted a chapter here, just to find someone reviewing, thinking this was dropped. So, here is an extra-long chapter as a sign of my apology.]

Anyway, David now had to wait until next year before he could legally take lives, which was annoying and frustrating, but just like he'd promised, he would accept and take the punishment for his actions without complaint. So instead of dwelling on it or fighting the decision, he simply turned his full attention and abilities toward ensuring the world was as peaceful as possible. He completely ignored the fact that he normally worked exclusively within the United States and began stepping outside those boundaries to address problems in the rest of the world, expanding his scope dramatically.

This shift in focus, of course, made David absolutely hated by many people across different cultures and nations who saw him as an outsider imposing his values. Child marriages that were considered traditional or cultural practices in certain regions? David outright outlawed them without hesitation or discussion.

He didn't care one bit what reasons or justifications people had for such practices, what ancient traditions they claimed, what religious texts they cited. He forbade it entirely with the full weight of his power behind the decree, and he went as far as literally ripping a man's genitals off and forcing them down his throat when that man tried to defend the practice with passionate arguments, claiming it was his right and his culture.

David appeared suddenly on the side of a quiet street next to some thick bushes where a newborn baby had just been callously thrown out of a moving car like garbage. He easily caught the tiny newborn before it could hit the ground, cradling the infant carefully as it cried pitifully from hunger and cold, and the shock of being abandoned.

While gently rocking the baby in his arms, trying to soothe and comfort the innocent life, he turned his gaze toward the departing car with a glare that could have melted steel. The car nearly lost control for a terrifying moment as the driver noticed David in the rearview mirror, but it quickly screeched to a stop, tires leaving black marks on the pavement. David walked up to the stopped vehicle with a cold glint in his eye.

[A/N: I remember something like this happening. A mother threw her newborn out of the car. The newborn was later discovered with ants or something all over it; the baby was long dead.]

"Hey there, I think you dropped something pretty important back there," David said with false casualness, stopping directly before the car and lowering himself down to look inside through the window. He made eye contact with the female sitting in the passenger seat, still wearing her hospital pajamas, and then the man who had been driving with white knuckles gripping the steering wheel.

"S-sorry, it was a mistake, we didn't mean to—" The woman stammered out, her voice shaking with pure fear and horror at being caught, at having David himself appear to witness what they'd done.

David smiled lightly at her, an expression that didn't reach his cold eyes, before teleporting away without another word. He appeared instantly at the nearest police station, where he carefully gave the crying baby to a startled but compassionate police officer, ensuring the infant would receive proper care and medical attention. Then he returned in a flash just as the car's engine was revving, just as they were about to speed off and flee the scene.

"You weren't just about to flee from me, were you?" David asked, his tone deceptively calm and almost conversational as he slowly removed his leather belt from around his waist. He folded it carefully, creating the perfect improvised weapon that would leave maximum impact and pain.

"N-no, sir. We weren't going anywhere," the man said, his voice cracking with pure, undiluted horror, knowing exactly what David was capable of doing to people who crossed certain lines.

"Step outside the car. Both of you." David said with that same unsettling calm, his voice carrying absolute authority that left no room for argument or negotiation. Although they were absolutely horrified, trembling with fear at what was coming, they didn't dare attempt to flee or disobey.

After the man put the car carefully in park with shaking hands, they both stepped outside onto the street. The woman had clearly just left the hospital very recently—she was still wearing her hospital pajamas, the identification bracelet still on her wrist, probably only hours removed from giving birth to the child she'd just tried to murder. David had them lie before the car with their butts out.

"So, I'm going to do something that your parents clearly and carelessly failed to teach you when you were growing up," David said, his voice shaking with barely controlled anger that made the air around him feel heavy and oppressive. "Children do not ask to be born into this world. They have no say, no choice in the matter whatsoever. I don't care if you wanted them or not, if they were planned or unplanned, if you were ready or not ready—your actions, your choices, your decisions led directly to that child entering this world. You do not get to do something and then force your innocent child to pay the price for your actions and mistakes. That's not how this works."

"S-sorry, we're so sorry," they both cried out desperately, tears streaming down their faces, hoping their apologies would somehow make this nightmare end.

But David wasn't hearing their pleas, wasn't accepting their hollow words. "If you genuinely don't want the child, if you can't care for them or don't feel ready, then you put the child up for adoption through proper channels," he continued relentlessly. "Do you have any idea how many people are out there desperately looking forward to the chance to adopt and raise a newborn baby? How many couples would give anything for that opportunity? What possible reason could you have had to say to yourselves, 'Let's throw this baby out of a moving car like it's trash'? Do you want me to cripple your legs right here and now and leave you on this street to slowly starve to death? Do you want to experience the fear of crying out desperately for help, screaming until your throat is raw, but having absolutely no one around to hear you or come to your aid?"

"No! Please, no! We're so sorry!" they cried even harder, their horror and panic growing with every word David spoke, understanding that he wasn't making empty threats.

"You're not sorry for what you did—you're sorry because you got caught!" David said with cold certainty before he swung the folded belt with brutal force, delivering stinging blows to their backsides to beat some basic human decency into them.

They cried out in agony because the pain felt like a sharp, searingly hot whip meeting their soul over and over again, each impact worse than the last. They desperately wanted to move, to jump around or run away from the pain, to do anything to escape—but they quickly found that their bodies were completely paralyzed by David's power. They were forced to stand perfectly still and endure every single blow without being able to even flinch away.

"Now get out of my face and out of my sight," David said when he finally stopped, breathing hard. "Remember this lesson well—it doesn't take much effort or ability to not be a complete piece of shit. Just basic human decency." With that final statement, David had to leave immediately because someone else somewhere in the world needed his urgent help.

He appeared suddenly in a filthy public bathroom in another country, one of those bathrooms that had a deep pit at the bottom instead of modern plumbing. The pit was crawling with a disgusting sea of insects—flies, beetles, maggots, and worse. There in that horrific place, David caught multiple newborn babies that had been callously thrown into the pit to die slow, agonizing deaths.

David's eye twitched uncontrollably at this discovery, rage building like pressure in a volcano. How absolutely cruel must someone be to throw their own children away like this, into a literal sea of bugs that would slowly eat the babies alive while they screamed?

Completely enraged beyond any measure of restraint, David burst explosively out of the bathroom floor with his belt still in hand, and Blue floated behind him, holding the rescued children safely. That whole village was beaten thoroughly that day by an avenging David who had completely lost his patience. No, it wasn't just that village—almost every single village across multiple countries that practiced such horrific disposal of unwanted infants was beaten severely, David appearing like a wrathful force of nature to deliver punishment.

Online, the debates raged furiously about David's actions:

[Stacy Rect] Shocker, a strong man forces his personal ideas and values on weaker people who can't fight back. What's new or different here? This is just tyranny with a different face.

[Ava Gina] Are you seriously saying we should just ignore the newborns being brutally killed and left to die? David's actions might be cruel and extreme, I'll grant you that, but they're also undeniably effective at stopping these horrors.

[Stacy Rect] Let's actually look at this situation in the long term instead of just reacting emotionally. What would the world do when this strong man looks at the rest of humanity and decides that something he personally sees as good, the rest of the world sees as fundamentally bad? What happens when his moral compass doesn't align with ours?

[Phil McCrakin] You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain.

[Stacy Rect] Exactly my point. Judge is absolutely doing the right thing here, stopping infanticide—I will not argue with anyone about that basic fact. But to enforce his personal worldview upon the entire world like this, with violence and fear and no democratic process... not even Superman does this kind of thing. Superman simply enforces the laws that already exist; he doesn't create new ones through intimidation.

[Ava Gina] Yeah, but aren't the lawmakers themselves often part of the fundamental problem? Is enforcing corrupted laws that allow these practices really going to accomplish anything meaningful?

[Clint Torris] I think Superman leaves us as regular people to fight for better laws ourselves. He ensures our physical safety from threats, but since he doesn't fully see himself as human, he doesn't interfere in human governance and leaves human political stuff to humans to sort out. But Judge is still human, so maybe he gets a free pass to beat up other humans when they cross certain moral lines.

[Dixie Normous] People like you don't think far enough ahead into the future. Judge is a human being, and like all humans throughout history, he isn't perfect and never will be. You all saw exactly how he completely snapped with the Joker situation, and honestly, even I have to admit he went way too far with that torture. I just saw somewhere online that the Joker is now actively looking into becoming a Christian and reforming his entire life. How mentally and spiritually messed up must one person be after what they experienced to put someone like the Joker—THE Joker—through enough trauma to make him seek salvation that desperately?

[StarDestroyer947] How messed up is it that someone can actually witness the Joker becoming a genuinely better person, see real transformation happening, and still point at the person behind all that change and call him evil? The Joker was literally the worst of the worst, an absolute monster who hurt countless people—but now the guy has genuinely come to Christianity and is trying to reform? Isn't that actually a good thing? Isn't redemption the whole point?

[Boundless_Snap9933] he should have come to Islam instead, that's the true path

[StarDestroyer927] bro shut up, Islam is false, and you know it

[Boundless_Snap9933] Lol, you know the Bible has been corrupted over the centuries, right? It's not even the original text anymore.

[StarDestroyer927] Oh, really? Mind actually showing me where and when, specifically, it has been corrupted with evidence? Surely you're not just making a baseless claim, and your entire argument is just "Trust me, Bro" with nothing to back it up?

[Boundless_Snap9933] Lol, we Muslims show Jesus more respect than you Christians even do.

[StarDestroyer927] Bro, you've got to be joking right now? How could we possibly show MORE respect to Jesus than literally saying he IS God himself?

[Boundless_Snap9933] Okay then, show me where exactly in the Bible Jesus explicitly says "I am God" in those words.

[StarDestroyer927] Wait, I thought you just said the Bible was corrupted, now suddenly it's trustworthy enough to quote from? Which is it?

[Fawn Delmee] What the hell are these comments even turning into? This is supposed to be about David's actions, not a religious debate forum.

While David's comment sections were completely flooded with people passionately fighting over whose religion was the true one and which wasn't, arguing back and forth endlessly with increasingly hostile language, David himself went on to spend the next several days without sleeping, even for a single moment.

He worked tirelessly around the clock, ensuring Earth was shaped exactly the way he wanted it, matching his vision of what the world should be. Only after he was satisfied with that progress did he turn his attention and focus back to helping those with very little, because the rich and powerful were simply far too greedy to share their abundant wealth voluntarily.

So David directly asked those watching his livestream to give whatever they could afford, no amount too small. Using that donated money, combined with the millions of dollars he had, he went ahead and systematically helped impoverished villages gain access to clean water, electricity, and education. He helped those living literally in trash dumps and garbage heaps to build better lives with real homes, sanitation, and opportunities they'd never had before.

But David didn't stop there with his crusade for a better world. He cracked down hard on numerous other issues plaguing society. Pornography websites? He didn't personally care much about their existence in principle; people could make their own choices, but when he discovered females and males being forced or coerced into performing acts against their will, he immediately pulled out his belt and got to work thoroughly cleaning that horrific situation up, hunting down those responsible.

He also forced the entire industry to implement mandatory mental health screenings and evaluations for both females and males, ensuring that people entering that line of work weren't doing so because of unresolved trauma, desperation, addiction, or other psychological issues that would lead to harm.

Too many people had publicly shared their heartbreaking stories of deep regret and crippling shame about that life, how it had destroyed them psychologically, and David was determined to minimize the chances of that happening to others going forward. Of course, some people genuinely enjoyed that work and entered it freely—David wasn't worried about interfering with their lives or taking away their agency if they were truly choosing it.

There were many more things David cracked down on with relentless determination. Roblox—he almost completely destroyed that game and its parent company after personally seeing the disturbing, predatory stuff going on within that platform that targeted children.

Many company executives and moderators were slapped hard to force them to make that game genuinely safer for everyone, especially kids. And David's slaps, delivered with supernatural strength, hurt far, far more than even his brutal belt ever could.

But David wasn't simply stopping harmful things and punishing wrongdoers. With the world now far more peaceful than it had ever been in recorded history, and with almost no serious crimes taking place anywhere on the whole planet thanks to his constant vigilance, David turned his attention to a new mission: helping those vulnerable people who had absolutely no one else to help them, the forgotten and abandoned.
