"Rachel, explain," Annabel demanded, her voice cold.
"Mrs. Thorne, these things will happen more frequently, I'm afraid," the assistant responded, calmly.
"Are you saying I should get used to it?" James' mother wasn't pleased.
"Not at all, Ma'am. But we need to slowly build our case. Kirsten should be here any minute."
Annabel sighed.
On her desk was a tablet showing the latest update from DishPatch, which featured a photo of a little girl smiling happily between Misha and her son, almost as if they were a family.
"Disgusting," the lady groaned.
Then there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," Rachel responded.
Kirsten walked in. She didn't quite look her usual self.
"Are you alright?" the senior asked.
"Yes, Ms. Levine," there was a palpable breath of tiredness between her words.
Rachel felt sorry for her precious young junior, but Mrs. Thorne's patience had been running out.
"Please report to Mrs. Thorne. What happened today."
