Sunlight crept through the thin curtains, painting soft streaks across Suki's room. The storm from last night was gone, leaving the air cool and fresh, the quiet almost reverent.
Ryuzí stirred first. His eyes blinked open slowly, adjusting to the morning light. For a moment, confusion flickered — why was the ceiling above him unfamiliar, why did the blankets smell faintly of vanilla and detergent instead of the crisp scent of home?
Then he felt the weight against his chest.
Suki, curled into him, his cheek resting just above Ryuzí's heartbeat, hair messy, lips parted in sleep.
Ryuzí's throat tightened. Heat spread across his face, his hand frozen where it had been resting lightly on Suki's back.
We... really did that.
He should've felt embarrassed, even ashamed. But instead, a strange calm washed over him. The gnawing emptiness he'd carried all week was gone, replaced by warmth, by presence, by Suki.
Ryuzí's fingers twitched, almost on their own, brushing a strand of hair from Suki's face.
Suki murmured something in his sleep, shifting closer, his lips brushing Ryuzí's chest. The sensation sent sparks racing through him, and Ryuzí quickly looked away, muttering under his breath. "...Idio—" He caught himself, the word stalling on his tongue. His lips curved faintly instead. "...Suki."
Eventually, Suki stirred, groaning softly as he blinked up at him. His sleepy grin spread instantly. "Morning, honey."
Ryuzí's face went crimson. "...Don't."
"Too late," Suki teased, voice rough with sleep. "It's your official title now."
Ryuzí groaned, dragging the blanket over his head. "...I'm leaving."
Suki laughed, tugging the blanket back down. "No, you're not. You're mine now, remember?"
The possessive softness in his voice made Ryuzí's chest clench. He looked away, ears burning, but didn't move. "...You're insufferable."
"And you love it," Suki said with a grin, snuggling closer.
Ryuzí muttered, "...Maybe."
Suki's eyes widened, his grin softening into something tender. He pressed a quick kiss to Ryuzí's jaw. "That's good enough for me."
They stayed like that for a while, tangled under the covers, listening to the quiet hum of the house. The clock ticked, birds sang faintly outside, and for once, neither felt the need to fill the silence.
Until a loud knock shattered the peace.
"Suki! Breakfast!" Hana's voice rang from the hall.
Suki jolted, sitting up too quickly. "Crap—my sisters."
Ryuzí stiffened, dragging the blanket higher. "...They'll kill me."
Suki chuckled nervously. "Relax. They already like you. This'll just... make them love you."
Ryuzí glared. "...That's not reassuring."
They stumbled out of the room a few minutes later, hair still messy, clothes hastily thrown back on.
In the kitchen, Hana sat with her tea, Emi scrolled through her phone, and Rika munched on toast. All three looked up simultaneously.
And froze.
Suki grinned nervously, scratching his neck. "...Sooo. We've got news."
Emi's brow arched. "Let me guess. The 'will-they-won't-they' finally ended?"
Rika gasped, nearly choking on her toast. "YOU'RE DATING?!"
Suki puffed his cheeks. "Hey! I was gonna say it!"
Ryuzí muttered under his breath, "...This was a mistake."
Hana set her cup down calmly, though her lips twitched like she was hiding a smile. "About time."
Rika squealed, bouncing in her seat. "I KNEW IT! You guys were totally obvious! Oh my gosh, you're so cute together!"
Emi smirked, leaning back. "So when's the wedding?"
Suki's face went red. "Emi!"
Ryuzí groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. "...Kill me now."
But then Suki slipped his hand into his under the table, giving it a quick squeeze. Ryuzí froze, his ears burning, but he didn't pull away.
Suki caught the sisters' knowing grins and smirked proudly. "See? Told you he's mine."
Ryuzí muttered hoarsely, "...You're unbearable."
But the faint upward twitch of his lips betrayed him.
Breakfast was chaos — Rika asking when their first kiss was, Emi demanding details, Hana calmly suggesting boundaries.
Suki answered with shameless enthusiasm. "Oh, it was intense. Right, honey?"
Ryuzí nearly choked on his rice. "...Don't call me that in front of them!"
The sisters howled with laughter, the kitchen ringing with chaos and warmth.
And despite his embarrassment, Ryuzí felt something unfamiliar bloom in his chest. For once, he wasn't on the outside looking in. He was part of the noise, the laughter, the light.
Part of a family.
Part of Suki's world.
Later, when the chaos died down, Suki leaned against him in the hallway, still grinning. "Told you it'd be fine."
Ryuzí sighed, muttering, "...You're insufferable."
Suki kissed his cheek quickly before darting away with a laugh. "And you love me for it."
Ryuzí touched his cheek, his lips twitching upward. "...Yeah. I do."
