Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Rebirth of the God King

Chapter 25: Rebirth of the God King

Time, ever relentless, slips away bit by bit, leaving no chance to reclaim even a single second.

Fanos Province, Holy Soul Village.

Today was the annual Spirit Awakening Day. The Spirit Hall of Notting City sent deacons to the villages under its jurisdiction to perform martial soul awakenings.

Old Jack, the village chief, arrived at the door of a dilapidated blacksmith shop and peered inside at a middle-aged man with a strong build but a disheveled appearance.

"Tang Hao, are you busy?"

Tang Hao, engrossed in forging iron, glanced up indifferently as a response.

Old Jack, unfazed by Tang Hao's demeanor, continued, "I told you a few days ago I'd take Xiao San for his spirit awakening. Did you remember?"

Before Tang Hao could reply, Tang San emerged from the side and said, "Grandpa Jack, Dad already told me. Let's go."

Tang San followed Old Jack to the wooden house in the village representing the Spirit Hall.

A crowd had gathered outside—children of awakening age and their parents, all eagerly awaiting the Spirit Hall deacon's ceremony.

At Old Jack's signal, Tang San joined the line of children and waited.

After a while, Old Jack confirmed everyone was present and approached the wooden house respectfully, saying, "Sir, the village children are all here."

The deacon responded, stepping out to face the children. He set up the preparations for martial soul awakening and addressed the group.

"My name is Su Yuntao, a Level 26 Battle Soul Master. I'll be responsible for awakening your martial souls."

Under the crowd's awed gazes, Su Yuntao activated his martial soul, transforming into a werewolf.

Among the children, Tang San watched with curiosity, intrigued by what his own martial soul might be.

One by one, the children approached Su Yuntao for their awakenings, but each received disappointing results—useless martial souls like Blue Silver Grass or a hoe, with no soul power to become a soul master.

The children who failed threw themselves into their parents' arms, sobbing, while their parents looked crestfallen.

Soon, it was Tang San's turn. Nervously, he approached Su Yuntao, took a deep breath, and calmed his racing heart.

The low probability of awakening soul power made him anxious, but he quickly reassured himself with thoughts of his Tang Sect techniques. Even without a martial soul, he could survive in this world with his skills.

Su Yuntao, noting Tang San's composure, said, "It'll be over soon, don't worry."

Soul power emanated from Su Yuntao, activating the awakening stone. A faint white light enveloped Tang San, filling him with warmth and comfort.

His stagnant internal energy surged, as if something was awakening deep within his blood.

But just as Tang San wondered about his martial soul, a golden light flashed in his eyes, piercing into his sea of consciousness.

"Ah!"

Tang San, mid-awakening, screamed, clutched his head, and collapsed.

Su Yuntao and the onlookers rushed over, alarmed. Old Jack, panicked, asked, "Sir, what's wrong with Xiao San?"

Su Yuntao, bewildered, admitted, "I've performed awakenings in countless villages, but I've never seen this before. I don't know what's happening."

As everyone stood at a loss, Tang San opened his confused eyes.

"This place looks familiar?"

The surroundings felt both familiar and strange, stirring memories buried deep within his mind.

"Is this… Holy Soul Village? What's going on? Wasn't I observing Huo Yuhao and Xiao Qi? How am I here?"

Before he could process further, Old Jack and Su Yuntao, seeing him awake, hurried over.

"Xiao San, are you okay?" Old Jack asked.

"Little boy, how do you feel?" Su Yuntao added.

Tang San, despite his confusion, maintained the composure of a God King with tens of thousands of years of experience. Whether this was an illusion or something else, he decided to observe first.

Rubbing his forehead, he replied naturally, "I'm fine, let's continue."

As a God King, he wouldn't call Old Jack "Grandpa" again, and he found it amusing that Holy Soul Village's name now carried the weight of his own legend.

After confirming Tang San was fine, Su Yuntao resumed the awakening ceremony, which proceeded smoothly this time.

Tang San extended his right hand, revealing Blue Silver Grass, just as he had in the past.

Su Yuntao, who had held high hopes for this unusual boy, sighed in disappointment at the sight of Blue Silver Grass and began packing up to leave for the next village.

Tang San, frowning at the Blue Silver Grass, raised his hand to stop him. "I can feel soul power. Please test it."

He couldn't fully grasp the situation, but he chose to follow the original events for now, adapting as needed.

Su Yuntao nearly scoffed at the idea of Blue Silver Grass having soul power but reconsidered. The boy's confidence suggested something unusual, and testing wouldn't take long.

With some anticipation, he handed Tang San the crystal ball.

A deep blue light filled the crystal ball.

Innate full soul power.

Su Yuntao was stunned. In all his years, he'd never seen innate full soul power, not even level three. But the fact that it was Blue Silver Grass dampened his excitement.

"What a pity, a useless martial soul," he muttered.

Following protocol, he asked Tang San if he'd join the Spirit Hall.

Tang San, unconcerned with Su Yuntao's opinion, declined the invitation as he had before and received his Spirit Awakening Certificate.

After bidding farewell to Old Jack, Tang San gazed at Holy Soul Village, flawless in every detail—every blade of grass and tree identical to his memories.

As a God King, this situation was profoundly strange.

Deciding to remain adaptable, he returned home.

Seeing the drunken, disheveled Tang Hao, he revealed his twin martial souls as he had in the past.

Tang Hao, looking at the Blue Silver Grass and Clear Sky Hammer in Tang San's hands, shed tears from his clouded eyes and hugged his son tightly.

"Twin martial souls! They're actually twin martial souls!"

"Son, my son!"

After a moment, Tang Hao composed himself and said with red eyes, "Xiao San, use the hammer in your left hand to protect the grass in your right."

Tang San, looking at his father, silently agreed, everything unfolding as it once had.

That night, sitting cross-legged on his small bed, Tang San finally had time to explore his situation.

His consciousness sank into his sea of spirit, where his God-King soul essence recalled the most terrifying memories buried deep within.

As those memories surfaced, Tang San's eyes snapped open, filled with fear, his body drenched in cold sweat.

"So that's how it is!"
