Chapter 157 - Stick, the Blind Old Man

After Daniel's explanation, the group fell into thought.

They weren't interested in the Hand, but the dragon bone, which could resurrect life, caught their attention.

If such a dragon bone truly existed, it would be a huge step forward in the history of life.

They could research life-extending drugs based on this so-called dragon bone.

As for the dragon bone's ability to resurrect life, they felt it wasn't that simple.

Nothing comes without a price, and a bone that had become a skeleton might retain some cellular activity.

But it was absolutely impossible to resurrect life without any cost, not even if resurrecting life consumed the dragon bone.

Such a price would be too small, completely insufficient to support the resurrection of life.

Seeing everyone deep in thought, Daniel turned and returned to Matt and his companions.

He had already told them the situation; how to proceed was for Andy and his group to decide.

He had no right to interfere, and although he hoped Andy would lend a Hand, he would never demand that Andy and the others must help.

After he returned, Matt asked Daniel about seeking help.

However, compared to Matt's curiosity, Stick seemed very indifferent; he simply didn't believe these people could help.

Although he couldn't see his surroundings, he clearly knew where he was.

This was Hell's Kitchen, a concentration camp for scum, a paradise for criminals.

What kind of people in this Tavern, located in Hell's Kitchen, could help them?

Clearly, Stick had selectively forgotten that the Hand assassins who were chasing them stopped their pursuit only after they entered Hunter's Bar's vicinity.

"Hmph, what ability do these people have to help us? They're all just ordinary people."

Stick's tone wasn't very good; in his opinion, this was simply a waste of time.

The legend of the Kunlun Iron Fist was always in his heart; he believed that as long as Danny unleashed the power of the Iron Fist,

They could easily wipe out the entire Hand and wouldn't need to seek help from these people at all.

Thump!

A pitcher of lemonade was heavily slammed onto the table by Jessica, startling Daniel and the others with the sound.

"Watch your mouth. Someone who only escaped by relying on Hunter's Bar's protection isn't qualified to comment on this place."

As she walked over with the lemonade, she heard Stick's disdainful words.

If he had spoken softly, she could have pretended not to hear.

But Stick didn't lower his voice at all; all the guests around them heard him and glared angrily at the old man.

This made it difficult for her to ignore, so Jessica tapped the table and glared at Stick, saying,

"If I see you causing trouble again, I'll throw you out of here."

Seeing Jessica's disrespect, Stick became very angry.

He reached for his blind cane, intending to teach Jessica a lesson.

The moment he gripped the cane, a Hand pressed it down, keeping it in place.

"If you don't want to be beaten to death by Jessica, then stop what you're doing now."

The speaker was Shang-Chi; his Hand was firmly pressing Stick down, making him unable to move.

He didn't really have much fondness for these few people, but the qi on Daniel resonated with him somewhat.

On Daniel, he could feel a vast and boundless qi.

Shang-Chi perceived it very clearly; he knew that it wasn't cultivated by Daniel himself.

However, that didn't matter; under the influence of that vast qi on Daniel,

His own qi resonated and was tempered, making his qi purer and stronger.

Shang-Chi, who believed in the way of the knight-errant, considered this a gift from Daniel.

Although he knew that the qi on Daniel was released unintentionally because Daniel couldn't control all of it.

But Shang-Chi still kept this gift in mind, which is why he stepped forward to stop the conflict.

Of course, this didn't mean Stick could disrupt the order of Hunter's Bar.

Those who violated the order were thrown out, and those who caused damage to Hunter's Bar had already been killed by them.

Daniel and Matt also reacted, looking at Stick, who was firmly held down by Shang-Chi, and let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you very much. If it weren't for you, who knows what would have happened."

They had seen the consequences of violating the order here, which sent shivers down their spines.

The Hand assassins who had damaged Hunter's Bar last time all ended up lying outside Hunter's Bar.

The worst off were those assassins who encountered an enraged Jessica; they were instantly smashed to pieces by her baseball bat.

Even when they dissipated into ash, they were different from other assassins.

Scattered in bits and pieces, they floated everywhere.

Perhaps Stick had more extensive combat skills, but under Jessica's terrifying superhuman strength,

No matter how many techniques you possessed, you couldn't withstand Jessica's enraged swing of the bat.

Although Stick didn't know all this, he also began to calm down after Daniel thanked Shang-Chi.

In his heart, he respected no one except the Kunlun Secret Realm and the Iron Fist. Since Daniel thanked Shang-Chi, he would drop the matter out of respect for the Iron Fist.

Seeing that Stick was no longer causing trouble, Daniel told him about the origins of this Tavern.

Matt, at his side, also kept adding what he knew. Compared to Stick's disdain for this place,

Matt actually liked it here, because he felt a sense of peace.

In the Hunter's Tavern, there was none of the common occurrences of Hell's Kitchen.

Everyone here let down their guard, relaxed, and drank to soothe their mind and body.

There was no other place in Hell's Kitchen that could provide such a sense of security as this place.

And as Matt and Daniel recounted, Stick also realized that Hunter's Bar was not what he had imagined.

Although ordinary people made up the majority in Hunter's Bar, there were also many powerful individuals here.

That woman who had been disrespectful to him earlier was the boss of all the servers here.

If he had actually attacked Jessica with his blind cane, what awaited him would be Jessica's fist, which could smash concrete.

Stick, realizing this, broke out in a cold sweat. He believed Daniel wouldn't lie to him.

Moreover, in Matt and Daniel's descriptions, the fear in their words couldn't be faked.

And he had also heard the sound of someone getting drunk and being thrown out of Hunter's Bar.

Only then did he realize why Daniel and Matt had been apologizing to the angered guests earlier.

These guests weren't terrifying, but there were people in Hunter's Bar who made them afraid, and there was more than one such person.

Although he didn't know why so many powerful individuals worked in this Tavern,

He understood that Daniel and his companions were right; they might be able to ask for help from the people here.

Their situation was observed by Andy and his group. Although Stick's behavior displeased them, at least the blind old man was someone who could be reasoned with.

"What should we do? Let it go, or clear out the Hand and get the dragon bone?"

Norman asked, watching Daniel continuously admonish Stick.

He still had a portion of Bragi's bones, and he wanted to know what connection this dragon bone had with Bragi's bones.

But Daniel had also said that excavating the dragon bone would cause destruction to all of New York, so this matter still needed their collective discussion.

"Since it's underground in New York, we'll use instruments to detect it. I always feel that things aren't as exaggerated as he says."

Stark replied with a frown, his wine glass constantly swaying.

He couldn't imagine what kind of bone could destroy all of New York; even dinosaurs that had turned into fossils weren't that large.

Andy shared Stark's confusion; he had seen Imogen transform into a dragon three years ago, and its size wasn't that exaggerated.
