Chapter 173 - The Reckless New Gang

Jessica and the others' peculiar smiles left Eddie and Dr. Dora somewhat bewildered.

They seemed to harbor ill intentions towards the two of them, which made Eddie feel a little wary.

"Heh heh, hello everyone, we'll be colleagues from now on."

Wary as he was, greetings still had to be exchanged.

After all, it was the first time he and Dr. Dora had met these people, and Eddie didn't sense any malice.

Perhaps they had prepared some pranks in that so-called Tavern to play on them.

Thinking this, Eddie decided to carefully inspect his surroundings before entering Hunter's Bar, to prevent himself from falling into their pranks.

After exchanging greetings, they were officially acquainted.

Dr. Ethan and Stark also walked over, and he said with a smile, "It seems you had a good harvest in San Francisco."

He was aware of the changes in San Francisco. As San Francisco's largest company,

the Life Foundation had quietly fallen, now transforming into a subsidiary of Steel Watchers.

"Haha, the harvest was indeed good. We captured all the Symbiotes, and Stark has also bid farewell to the reactor in his chest."

Hearing Andy's reply, Ethan looked at Stark in surprise.

He hadn't noticed it before, but now it was clear that the reactor was indeed no longer present in Stark's chest.

"Oh! I hadn't noticed! Stark, is this the result of the Symbiote helping you heal?"

Stark smiled and nodded. He had already said goodbye to the reactor.

"Congratulations, you've finally escaped the shadow of death. But will you still be Iron Man in the future?"

Saying this, Dr. Ethan smiled and patted Stark's shoulder. He still remembered Stark's appearance in the underground Base.

That was the surgery he performed on Stark, and Stark's first-generation reactor was born in that place.

Taking the reactor from his clothes, Stark waved it at Dr. Ethan.

Stark laughed, "Ha~ I'm Stark, the Iron Man forever."

He planned to go back and modify the reactor. Although it couldn't be embedded in his chest, it could still attach to his body.

Dr. Ethan nodded, then walked towards Eddie and Dr. Dora.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to the Hunter's Tavern. I should be one of your leaders.

We will be working together from now on, and I hope everyone helps each other."

He was very curious about Venom and Whip. These Symbiotes, parasitic on others, greatly broadened his horizons.

Although he had seen Norman's Green Goblin, the Green Goblin was completely different from Venom and Whip.

It was like a biological warframe without any consciousness, unlike Venom and Whip, which were agile and full of life.

Seeing the polite Dr. Ethan, the two subconsciously straightened their attitudes, responding to him in a refined manner.

Although they really wanted to see the Symbiotes on the two of them, this was an airport with many eyes.

If they rashly exposed the Symbiotes on their bodies, they might be taken away by the government for investigation.

Dr. Ethan believed that the New York government and the Military were capable of such things.

Moreover, they had done so before; Bruce Banner was a good example.

The Military had already created a failed Abomination. If they were to learn about creatures like Symbiotes,

they might try to seize them, and at that point, the number of casualties would be an unknown answer.

Leading everyone to their car, this was a bus Dr. Ethan had specifically found to bring everyone to Hunter's Bar together.

After everyone had boarded the bus, the car slowly started, heading towards Hell's Kitchen.

Along the way, Stark summoned Trauma, who was parasitic on him, and showed him to Dr. Ethan.

"Look, this is my Symbiote. He's called Trauma, a clever little guy."

Watching Trauma constantly wriggling in Stark's hand, Dr. Ethan's eyes lit up.

He had seen Riot and Gluttony in videos. The two of them rolled back and forth in Norman's special container, looking like a puddle of asphalt.

But this dark red Trauma appeared much more agile.

"Trauma looks much more active than the Green Goblin. Will Norman's Symbiotes all be like the Green Goblin after being neutered?"

This question had always lingered in Dr. Ethan's mind, as the Green Goblin, even when summoned, was always lifeless.

But Norman's answer completely cleared up his doubts.

"No, the Green Goblin's consciousness was only restricted by me. This was actually an inspiration I got from Andy."

It turned out that a few years ago, Andy had used red toxin to seal Sarah's consciousness and transfer it back into Sarah's body.

That series of operations gave him inspiration. When he developed the medicine to treat familial genetic diseases,

he began to research the red toxin that had dried up on Sarah's body.

After so much research, although Norman hadn't thoroughly studied the red toxin crystal,

he had made some research progress. He used the red toxin crystal to create a device.

This device could restrict the Green Goblin's consciousness, allowing Norman to be fully connected with the Green Goblin.

This allowed him to use the Symbiote's abilities effortlessly, as if by instinct.

With that, Norman revealed the watch on his wrist; the device restricting the Green Goblin's consciousness was inside the watch.

Norman summoned the Green Goblin, and the green organism appeared on Norman's body.

With a light tap on the watch, the Green Goblin, originally like a puppet, instantly came alive.

The Green Goblin, with regained consciousness, extended its tendrils, caressing Norman's arm, as if acting spoiled.

Seeing the Green Goblin return to normal, Dr. Ethan nodded in understanding.

This scene was also witnessed by Eddie and Dr. Dora, and the Symbiotes parasitic within them all transmitted messages to them.

"Stay away from that Andy and Norman. I don't want to die inexplicably by their hands."

Originally, they were only afraid of Andy's Gluttony, but now Norman was also listed as a dangerous person by them.

They weren't afraid of any powerful attacks, but someone who could block their consciousness made them raise their guard.

The two also understood Norman's threat to Symbiotes and could only nod in agreement to maintain a certain distance from Norman.

The bus quickly arrived in Hell's Kitchen. It was still as chaotic as ever.

The diverse people on the streets demonstrated to everyone the origin of its name.

A gang that seemed to have just started developing in Hell's Kitchen stopped the bus. Their faces were sinister, clearly a group of desperadoes.

Shang-Chi, who was driving, got out to negotiate with them.

However, Shang-Chi's negotiations did not yield any positive results.

Those gang members, either wielding knives or pulling out firearms, constantly threatened Shang-Chi.

With a bang, a gun in the hand of a gang member who looked like the leader flashed, and a bullet was fired at Shang-Chi.

However, Shang-Chi had already been wary of them and had dodged before the trigger was pulled.

The bullet missed Shang-Chi but hit the bus behind him.

This made Shang-Chi's heart ache. This car was borrowed and had to be returned.

They didn't know how much money they would have to pay in compensation for this shot. Just as he was about to teach the shooter a lesson,

Jessica, with an angry expression, got out of the car. Luke also got out with her.

Both of them were very angry. Damaged items had to be compensated at double their original price.

This was the rule of Hell's Kitchen. To survive here, one had to follow the rules, and even they wouldn't easily violate them.

This shot directly shattered their car dreams. Their current composure was already the result of extreme restraint.

"Go easy, don't be like last time."

Looking at the two who got out of the car, carrying metal baseball bats, Shang-Chi instructed.

Hearing Shang-Chi's warning, Jessica impatiently waved the bat in her hand.

"I know. You should worry about yourself and not get hurt."

No sooner had she spoken than the metal bat struck a thug holding a gun.

The thug, suffering a heavy blow, bent like a shrimp and flew backward.

When he fell to the ground, he was already limp and motionless.

Only a slight rise and fall of his chest could be seen. Although this thug suffered comminuted fractures, he was at least still alive.

Seeing that the thug was still breathing, Shang-Chi breathed a sigh of relief and pulled out his short sword to join the battle.

Their fight caught Eddie's attention. He peered out the car window, watching the fighting.

"There are too many of them. I think I can help."

After saying that, he turned and walked towards the car door. Just as he reached the car door, Eddie turned back and asked, "Aren't you going to help them? They're your employees."

He didn't understand why Andy and the others sat motionless in the car. There were so many people outside, and Jessica and the others were only three. By any measure, the other side had the advantage.

The few people smiled but said nothing. Dr. Dora pointed outside with a surprised expression, as if she had seen something incredible.

Seeing Dr. Dora's reaction, Eddie quickly looked outside at the fighting, thinking something had changed.

But this look completely overturned his perception. He saw Jessica chasing and brutally beating several thugs.

A few thugs, thinking themselves clever, hid in a car, but Jessica tore off the car door with one hand, and the thugs let out a cry of pain.

The same situation was happening with Luke. The thugs had nowhere to hide.

Every time Luke swung his bat, a thug would be knocked down by him, lying on the ground, groaning continuously.

As for Shang-Chi, his opponents were covered in wounds.

This was already him holding back. If he had been truly ruthless, these people would have already met their God. Satan.

This scene left Eddie stunned. He had never known that anyone could do such a thing.

Even Shang-Chi, the only one who seemed normal, could easily repel dozens of people.

"They are much stronger than you."

Venom's voice rang in Eddie's ear.

"If I didn't exist, you probably wouldn't even be a match for those groaning on the ground."

Hearing Venom's disdain for him, Eddie pouted.

"So what? Do you dare to parasitize them?"

Venom didn't answer. Although he despised Eddie, he was also a loser, just like Eddie.

He could only find resonance on Eddie's body, which was the real reason he was unwilling to leave Eddie's body.

Watching the gang quickly disperse, Eddie knew there was no point in him going down now.

He sat back in his seat and watched Jessica and the others' one-sided beating.

Under their attack, the gang members who could still move scrambled away from there.

Jessica picked up her bat and walked towards the bus.

On her way back, Jessica saw the guy who had shot and damaged their bus.

That guy was now covered in wounds, his clothes tattered and stained with blood.

Jessica, already annoyed, became even more furious upon seeing the culprit.

She raised her foot and stomped between the guy's legs, and the guy instantly let out a miserable shriek like a gander.

The few people who witnessed this scene also clamped their legs together. Looking at the thug writhing in pain on the ground, they felt a sense of empathy.

After the matter was resolved, the three of them returned to the car.

Shang-Chi started the car with a worried expression. The problem was solved, but his sports car was gone.

Not only Shang-Chi, but Jessica and Luke also looked melancholic.

"What's with them?"

Their expressions left Andy puzzled, so he asked Dr. Ethan.

"The three of them encountered a group of racing experts, and they were planning to save money to buy a car and learn racing techniques from those experts.

But now their plans have to be postponed for a while, as they are facing huge compensation fees."

The news of them learning to race cars had been widely discussed these past few days, making it hard for him not to know.
