After leaving Hunter's Bar, Jessica and the others, along with Frank, drove towards the Vampire gathering place.
Andy and his team, on the other hand, returned to their respective companies first. All their equipment was for capturing Symbiotes.
They didn't have many weapons against Vampires, and since it was a gathering place, the number of Vampires would certainly not be small.
So they had to prepare first and update their equipment.
As for whether they would fall too far behind the others who had already gone to the gathering place, they needn't worry; their speed was not slow.
After Andy returned to Orokin Technology, he replaced his ultrasonic shock gun with a screw rifle.
The screw rifle has strong penetration, and its bullets are elongated screws.
It can pin Vampires to the wall after an attack, helping the team capture them.
After equipping his supplies, Andy rode Wind Chaser and set off towards the Vampire gathering place.
Wind Chaser soared through the air, flying rapidly towards their destination.
Soon, beside Wind Chaser, Norman and Stark also caught up, having already finished changing their equipment.
Stark replaced the Waste sonic cannon on his shoulder with an infrared emitter.
Norman, on the other hand, brought the inhibitor developed by him and Ethan for the Vampire virus.
The three flew rapidly through the sky, and in a short while, they saw Jessica's car.
Although they had pushed the car's speed to its limit, their car was not known for its speed.
Even with the pedal to the metal, their speed wasn't very fast.
The three followed the car, flying in the air. They only knew the approximate location.
Frank still needed to confirm the exact location.
In the car, Whistler saw the three in the air and knew they needed the precise location, so he said to Frank, who was driving:
"Frank, can you tell Mr. Andy and his team the location of the gathering place first? They are faster and can arrive before us."
Frank looked up at the three in the air and understood that Whistler was right.
Their speed was too slow, and Blade was currently at the gathering place.
Every minute that passed meant more danger for Blade.
He opened the channel Whistler had set up, picked up the communicator, and said:
"The Vampire gathering place is in a small mountain ahead. The vegetation there is barren, and no one goes there, making it a good hiding spot."
Hearing Frank's explanation through the communicator, Stark quickly found the small mountain.
There was indeed nothing remarkable about it; even people who loved outdoor excursions wouldn't like this bare mountain.
"Found it, follow me."
Stark said to Andy and Norman, then his speed suddenly increased, leading them towards the small mountain.
Andy smiled, and he and Norman accelerated simultaneously, following Stark in a high-speed flight.
Before long, they saw the small mountain Frank had mentioned.
The vegetation here was sparse, with hardly any large plants.
Even the wild grass was scattered, no wonder few people came here.
However, it was indeed a good place to hide, at least no one would think that someone would hide in this place.
Stark hovered in mid-air, a laser beam shooting from his forehead, scanning the small mountain.
After circling the mountain, Stark was somewhat puzzled.
"Are you sure that Vampire didn't lie to us? I've been scanning here for a long time, but I haven't found any caves."
This wasn't Stark deliberately causing trouble; he really hadn't found any caves in this small mountain; the mountain was a complete whole.
But Frank was clearly very confident in his methods; he replied with certainty:
"I can assure you he didn't lie. You can check the vicinity of the small mountain; perhaps the entrance is hidden elsewhere."
Stark nodded and began scanning the area around the small mountain.
Soon, he found the entrance to the gathering place near a rock not far from the small mountain.
The reason he determined it was an entrance was because a large amount of activity was scanned from there.
In this godforsaken place, a sudden area with significant activity made it hard not to notice.
"It's right there. Should we go in now or wait for them here?"
Pointing to the entrance, Stark asked Andy and his team.
Looking at the entrance Stark was pointing to, Andy gently patted Wind Chaser's neck and slowly descended from the air.
"Let's go in first. Wind Chaser will guard here, and they'll see it when they arrive."
The cave entrance was not large, only two meters high, less than half the size of Wind Chaser.
Therefore, Wind Chaser could only guard the entrance, waiting for Andy's return.
Both had no objections, landing and entering the cave with Andy.
The cave was not as dark as they imagined; they saw light shortly after entering.
Although it wasn't as bright as outside, it was enough for them to see everything around them.
"Wow, this is a huge project. To make the inside of this mountain look like this, they must have put in a lot of effort."
The traces here indicated that this cave was entirely man-made.
Such a large cave would take a long time to excavate, even with large tunnel boring machines.
The entrance indicated that it was impossible for a tunnel boring machine to excavate here; even the smallest machine could not enter such a small cave.
The group looked around the cave; there wasn't a single Vampire, making it seem extremely empty.
However, they did see many prison-like rooms, where many mentally deranged Vampires were confined.
Their bodies seemed to have undergone some mutation, their eyes bloodshot as they attacked everything around them.
"Is this really a Vampire gathering place? Why do I feel like this is a Vampire mental hospital?"
It seemed too abnormal here; all the confined Vampires were insane.
If it was a Vampire gathering place, why would they confine these mentally troubled Vampires here?
One should know that in this World, humans are far more numerous than Vampires.
Even if they ignored these crazy Vampires, they wouldn't be affected.
And even if they were caught, they couldn't reveal the whereabouts of other Vampires.
This made Stark somewhat confused as to why, in this so-called Vampire gathering place, he saw a group of confined Vampires.
No matter how you looked at it, this was not a normal situation, given the current plight of U.S. Vampires.
If they released these madmen, the destructive power to human society would be greater, but confining them here yielded no benefits.
"Who knows? Maybe they also have a mad scientist, like Frankenstein."
Cracking a joke to lighten the mood, Andy and his team's most urgent goal now was to find where Blade was being held.
Unfortunately, there were too many rooms here, and the three of them could only check them one by one.
After Frank and his team entered the cave, they saw Andy and the other two constantly checking each room.
Shang-Chi, curious, secretly peeked into a room through the door.
Suddenly, a hideous face appeared before him. Startled, Shang-Chi instinctively stabbed with the short sword in his hand.
After piercing that face, Shang-Chi realized that Vampires were confined here.
It's just that they looked much crazier than the Vampires he usually saw.
Confirming that the Vampire had been killed by him, Shang-Chi pulled out his short sword.
Watching the Vampire, whose head he had blown off with one sword, slowly slide down the door, Shang-Chi couldn't help but complain, "What is this? Crazy Vampires?"
Hearing his complaint, Andy looked at them, "Don't just stand there, quickly see if there's any trace of Blade."
At this point, everyone else also realized that they were here to rescue Blade.
If there were ordinary humans, they might rescue them incidentally.
But if they were all these Vampires, then it had nothing much to do with them.
Everyone dispersed, checking rooms everywhere, hoping to find traces of Blade.
But they searched for a long time, and all they saw were those insane Vampires.
Let alone Blade, they didn't even see a single ordinary human.
Seeing everyone empty-handed, Frank frowned and said, "It seems Blade isn't here, maybe he's somewhere else."
Saying that, he pointed to the deeper door; there might be multiple levels here, with different people confined on each level.
Everyone continued deeper into the cave and soon arrived at the second level of the cave.
This level was almost identical to the previous one, also without any guards, but the rooms here confined a group of humans.
As they checked the rooms, the people inside also looked up and saw them.
However, these people didn't call for help but looked at the group with fear.
They thought the Vampires were going to feed again and were choosing them.
They searched the entire second level, but they still couldn't find any trace of Blade.
Everyone shook their heads and continued deeper, but as they left, Jessica felt a bit reluctant.
"What about those people?"
"Let's rescue them when we come back. Our urgent task now is to find Blade and then completely wipe out the Vampires in this gathering place."
Their voices echoed on the second level, giving these people, who were waiting for death, a sudden hope for life.
These people clung to the doors, looking at the group with anticipation and hope.
Andy and his team continued deeper into the cave, and the third level's area was different from before.
It was no longer full of rooms like before; here, there was only a giant square stone tablet embedded in the cave wall.
A laser beam shot from Stark's head, scanning the stone tablet.
The scanned data surprised Stark, "This stone tablet is seeping blood!!!"
This shocked everyone. Could it be that the Vampires had made this stone tablet into a flesh and blood grinder to extract blood?
"Jessica, Luke, you two open this stone tablet."
The two, receiving the command, grabbed the four corners of the stone tablet and pulled with all their might.
Crack
Under their strength, the stone tablet continuously made noises, and cracks appeared on it.
Before long, the entire stone tablet was shattered into pieces under their hands.
Everyone also saw the person inside the stone tablet; this person was Blade, whom they had come to rescue.
"Blade, how do you feel?"
Seeing Blade's pale face, Whistler took out several blood bags he carried with him.
As a half-Vampire, Blade possessed some of a Vampire's abilities, and recovering from injuries by consuming blood was one of them.
The blood in the blood bags quickly disappeared into Blade's mouth.
With the replenishment of blood, Blade's complexion became a bit rosier, and his injuries were somewhat alleviated.
"Thank you. If you had come any later, I might have really died."
With Whistler's support, Blade stood up and thanked everyone.
"But we need to hurry. Deacon has already obtained the Blood God Altar, and the Daywalker's blood is the key to activating the altar. He should be undergoing the blood god transformation now."
Speaking of the Daywalker, Andy then remembered what Linda had told him.
The reason the Vampires came here was because they were searching for the Blood God Altar.
Now it seemed the Vampires had already obtained the Blood God Altar, so they had to speed up.
If the Vampires transformed into Daywalkers, then the Hunter's Tavern they founded would be for naught.
After all, for many Vampire hunters now, the main method of capturing Vampires was to suppress them using ultraviolet sun lamps.
Once transformed into Daywalkers, this major weakness of Vampires would disappear.
Moreover, their other weaknesses would also become less obvious, which would indeed be a disaster for all of humanity.
I've been experiencing writer's block these past few days. Once I've organized my thoughts, I'll resume posting two chapters directly. Please bear with me, everyone.
