Chapter 40 - Chapter 40 Bella Fernandez

In a grand palace surrounded by swirling mist, a magnificent throne stood — and on it sat a woman who could only be described as the very definition of beauty.

Her face alone could start wars. Anyone who gazed upon her would lose control. Silver hair cascaded gracefully over her shoulders, and her body was a flawless balance of perfect curves — neither too much nor too little.

The woman slowly opened her eyes. They were golden, a perfect complement to her already flawless features.

It would have been absolute perfection — if not for the cold, emotionless emptiness in those eyes.

Her gaze tore through the void and reached the place where Zeref was. She saw his past, present, and even possible futures.

And for the first time in her life, a flicker of interest appeared in her eyes. For the first time ever, something — someone — had captured her attention.

After a moment, she closed her eyes once more. Whatever was destined to happen… would happen.

As soon as she did, three women appeared before her.

The first was a tall, beautiful woman with purple hair and eyes, surrounded by ripples of space and time itself.

The second, in the center, was a petite woman with snow-white hair and amber eyes. Unlike the others, she didn't stand — she sat floating atop a cloud, an aura of fate swirling around her.

The third was a stunning woman with green hair and eyes, radiating an overwhelming aura of life.

Just as they appeared and were about to speak, the silver-haired woman on the throne spoke first.

"There is nothing to worry about. Even if that weapon awakens, the boy will not be able to unleash even one-tenth of its former power."

"And the weapon is merely returning to its rightful place — nothing more, nothing less."

After she spoke, the three women nodded silently in agreement — and vanished.

Earth — Above the Clouds

A massive celestial gate formed high above the clouds. Slowly, it opened — and from it stepped a beautiful 17-year-old girl.

She had black hair and red eyes, which narrowed as she gazed down at a peaceful nation below.

She could still sense the lingering aura of her brother. She was certain he had once lived in this world.

But something had happened — something that caused her brother to leave this world. That should have been impossible, for humans here had no mana at all.

"What on earth happened? My brother should be here," the girl said angrily, clenching her fists.

The aura of her rage radiated immense power — so much so that an entire country on Earth was annihilated by the pressure alone.

Fortunately, a servant behind her quickly redirected the raging aura elsewhere, preventing the destruction of the peaceful country where her brother once lived.

"Your Highness, please calm your anger."

"You will find the young master. Especially now — when even the Divine Realm is in chaos."

The girl slowly calmed herself — and vanished from the spot.

Earth — Linda's Room

It had been one month since Linda's boyfriend had died. She spent every day locked in her room, drowning in grief over his death.

Her face was pale and disheveled. She didn't care about anything anymore except crying for the man she had lost.

She stopped going to work, stopped attending university. Her coworkers and classmates often came to check on her, worried for her health.

As usual, Linda was in her room crying, reminiscing about her time with her boyfriend.

Suddenly, a 17-year-old girl appeared by her window, watching Linda with a sad expression.

"Who… who are you?" Linda stammered as she panicked and rose from her bed.

"Zeref is still alive."

"Huh?"

Linda froze for a moment — then anger overtook her. She grabbed the girl's dress and yanked her forward.

"Don't say nonsense! Zeref is dead — I saw it myself!" Linda screamed, tears streaming down like rain.

She poured all her pent-up grief and anger onto the girl before her.

Zeref had died on the way home from the supermarket. He had been shot by a robber's stray bullet.

If she hadn't asked him to go out and buy something that day, maybe… Zeref would still be alive.

That regret carved a permanent scar into Linda's heart.

The girl sighed helplessly and snapped her fingers.

Suddenly, Linda and the girl were no longer in her room — they were standing on clouds.

"W-what's happening?" Linda trembled in fear.

"Calm down. I just want to talk to you."

The girl before Linda was Bella Fernandez — she had come to Earth seeking her brother, who had reincarnated here.

But when she arrived, she couldn't find him. All she could sense was that her brother had once lived in this world.

But then she discovered the truth: a third party had forcibly taken his soul, and that brother… was Zeref, Linda's lover.

Linda was stunned by Bella's explanation.

"Is Zeref… still alive?"

"Yes. I am certain my brother lives — and that he has reincarnated into another world."

"And I promise you this — I will reunite you with him."

"T-thank you…" Linda whispered, her tears now flowing with hope instead of grief.

Megicula World ~~~

Immediately after the harp recognized Zeref as its master, it flew into his body and vanished.

Moments later, Invidia and Rena were pulled away by a mysterious force — triggering the awakening of their bloodlines. And Zeref himself was forcefully ejected from the Chaos World.

Aprilia and Erina rushed to his location, instantly pouring mana into him to stop the bleeding. Soon, others arrived too. When they saw Zeref's bloodied and near-dead state, both Aprilia and Erina's hearts ached deeply.

Shopia, seeing her son drenched in blood and on the brink of death, immediately embraced him. Meanwhile, the King summoned the greatest healers across the Helios Kingdom to the palace without delay.

The empires and kingdoms nearby noticed the strange movement of healers gathering in the capital.

Even the High Priestess of the Life Goddess was summoned as part of the emergency — causing every major power to speculate wildly about what was happening.

In a heavily fortified military fortress, a beautiful woman sat quietly. She had black hair and red eyes. Despite being dressed like a mage, with a pointed witch's hat on her head, a sheathed sword hung at her waist.

Though she was breathtakingly beautiful, a bloodthirsty aura surrounded her. Anyone who tried to approach her would think twice — terrified by the sheer killing intent radiating from her. Who knew how many lives she had taken to create such an aura?

At that moment, the woman was resting when someone burst into her chamber, clutching a communication orb with terror written all over her face.

The woman opened her eyes and glared at the servant before her — her gaze so sharp it made the servant even more nervous.

"M-My Lady, we've received news from the palace… something has happened to your grandson…"

Before the servant could finish speaking, she was blasted backward by a surge of power exploding from the woman. A storm of rage and bloodlust erupted from her body — and without another word, she vanished from the room.
