"Boom!"
The Blue Silver Grass that had completely enveloped Tang Chuan suddenly exploded, scattering into countless fragments and dust. Before Tang San could even react, a blue figure shot out of the blast. In the blink of an eye, Tang Chuan had crossed a distance of over ten meters and was heading straight for Tang San.
"What?" Tang San's heart tightened. "How is he so fast?" He felt a flash of golden light, and his body froze. He tried to use his Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track to dodge, but as soon as he lifted his foot, he realized it was too late.
Tang Chuan's speed was simply too fast; he moved as if he were flying, even quicker and more terrifying than some of the Agility-type Spirit Elders and Spirit Kings Tang San had seen.
The very next second, Tang Chuan's fist whistled through the air and smashed heavily, landing squarely on Tang San's face.
"Ah—" Tang San screamed. His vision went black, and blood instantly gushed from his nose. He stumbled backward, his head spinning, struggling to even stand up. Before he could recover, an angry voice, tinged with a hint of disappointment, rang in his ears.
"Why are your first three spirit rings for your Blue Silver Grass spirit all exactly the same?" Tang Chuan said. "The first spirit ring is Binding.
The second spirit ring's Parasitism ultimately aims to entangle the opponent. And the third spirit ring's Spider Web Restraint, isn't that still a Binding control skill? A spirit can absorb a maximum of nine spirit rings, and you've already wasted three slots.
Who taught you such a foolish method? The idiot who taught you probably wants to lead you to your death! Today, I'll discipline you, this unfilial son, on behalf of your father!"
Upon hearing this, Tang San was momentarily stunned. The words felt strangely familiar, as if he had heard them somewhere before. But before he could think about it any further, the blue-clad youth delivered another fierce punch.
Tang San's heart tightened again, and he was about to use Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track to dodge, but his expression suddenly changed. He saw that his opponent's other hand was already clamped firmly on his arm, unmoving like an iron pincer, making it impossible to break free.
"Bang!"
The fist landed again, smashing heavily into Tang San's face with a dull thud, and his body swayed violently. Before Tang San could even catch his breath, another punch came directly at him.
"Ah—" he screamed as he was hit, stumbling backward, no longer able to maintain his balance.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Fists landed on flesh without mercy. In just a few breaths, Tang San was knocked to the ground by several of Tang Chuan's punches. His face was bruised and swollen, and he was completely curled up on the ground, clutching his head with both hands, gasping for air like an ox.
"No! Big Brother San!" Xiao Wu's face instantly changed. She cried out, just about to rush forward to help Tang San, but she suddenly felt a sharp gaze sweep over her. Subconsciously looking up, Xiao Wu saw Xiao Ruier staring coldly at her from not far away, her eyes incredibly icy, as if she would devour her instantly if she dared to move a single step.
"Wuwu—" Xiao Wu's heart turned cold, on the verge of tears. Her body trembled violently, and she involuntarily retreated a few steps, hiding behind a nearby stall, her face pale, not daring to move.
At this moment, Dai Mubai was just rushing over with Zhu Zhuqing. As soon as they entered the Night Market, they saw Tang San being brutally beaten by someone, seemingly unable to fight back, lying on the ground, curled up and clutching his head.
"Little San! Are you alright?" Dai Mubai's face changed drastically. "Kid, you're looking for death, daring to hit someone from my Shrek Academy!" he roared in anger. He was about to step forward to rescue Tang San, but his steps suddenly halted. A golden figure had already stood in front of them: it was Xiao Ruier.
Seeing the newcomer, Dai Mubai's pupils contracted. The terrifying scene from not long ago flashed through his mind: he had been sent flying by this savage girl's punch, completely powerless to retaliate. The intense pain and the surging blood in his chest still lingered in his bones.
"You…" His throat tightened, and Dai Mubai's feet involuntarily retreated two steps. The anger on his face was replaced by hesitation and fear.
Tang San lay on the ground, his cheeks as red as a monkey's bottom, his nose bleeding, his body covered in bruises, almost on the verge of fainting. But just as he was nearly flipped over by another punch, his peripheral vision suddenly caught sight of Dai Mubai standing not far away.
"Mubai! Quick, save me!" Tang San shouted hoarsely and urgently. However, what answered him was only a deathly silence. Tang San's expression changed, a hint of panic in his eyes as he shouted again, "Boss Dai! Hurry and save me!"
Tang San's voice echoed through the streets of the Night Market, yet no one came forward. Dai Mubai stood rooted to the spot, his fists clenched, his face full of struggle. Under Xiao Ruier's cold gaze, he didn't dare to take even a single step.
Tang San's breathing grew heavier and heavier. His chest heaved violently, almost gasping like an ox. The fear and anger in his eyes intertwined, finally converging into a towering rage. "Damn it...!" he roared. "I see you've already found your path to death!"
With a low roar, Tang San suddenly extended his right arm to block the incoming fist, stopping it forcefully. At the same time, his left hand rose, and a small, pitch-black hammer appeared in his palm. The robes on his back subtly swelled as his Eight Spider Lances were about to be activated.
Just as Tang San was about to use his Clear Sky Hammer and Eight Spider Lances to counterattack, a furious roar suddenly came from mid-air. It was like a thunderclap, shaking everything around them. "Kid! How dare you hit someone from our Shrek Academy!"
As soon as the voice fell, a tall figure broke through the air, bringing with him an astonishing surge of Qi, and smashed directly towards Tang San's location.
"Hmm?" Tang Chuan's brow furrowed slightly. A hint of coldness flashed in his eyes, and his body swayed lightly like a phantom, instantly disappearing from in front of Tang San. He rapidly retreated backward.
"Boom!!" The next second, the figure heavily crashed to the ground like a meteor falling from the sky, stirring up dust and gravel. The entire street instantly plunged into chaos.
From within the dust, a burly figure slowly emerged. His aura was as steady as a mountain, his muscles bulging, and seven spirit rings—two yellow, two purple, and three black—circled upwards from his feet. He was, astonishingly, a Spirit Saint.
Seeing the newcomer, Tang San's brow furrowed slightly, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. He slowly stood up, looking at the man with a sigh of relief. "Teacher Zhao, you finally arrived..." he panted. "If you were any later, you might not have seen me."
Hearing this, Zhao Wuji's expression was slightly awkward. He slowly raised a hand and waved it gently towards Tang San, his tone low and confident. "Tang San, stand back. From now on, leave it to me. Don't worry, he hit you today, I'll make him pay back double!"
Upon hearing this, Tang San nodded and stumbled backward.
"Little San, are you alright?" At this moment, Dai Mubai finally dared to step forward. He walked quickly, his eyes showing some anxiety, and reached out to support Tang San's arm. However, Tang San suddenly flung his arm, directly shaking off Dai Mubai's hand.
He swayed, then stood firm, a clear look of displeasure on his face. He coldly glanced at Dai Mubai and snorted. Dai Mubai paused slightly, his face darkened, and he stood in place, not moving forward again.
Glancing at Zhao Wuji, Xiao Ruier's brow furrowed slightly. A hint of solemnity flashed in her eyes. Then, her body moved, and she quietly came to Tang Chuan's side, saying in a low voice, "A Spirit Saint has arrived; he might be difficult to deal with."
Hearing this, Tang Chuan's gaze deepened, but he didn't show much fear. He simply nodded faintly and responded in a low voice, "If it's a one-on-one fight, it might indeed be a bit tricky. But if the two of us team up, we have nothing to fear from him." Xiao Ruier didn't say more after hearing this, simply nodding.
The next second, a golden light burst forth from her body. Immediately after, a majestic golden dragon phantom roared into existence behind her, and four spirit rings rose with it—yellow, yellow, purple, purple. A terrifying aura instantly spread out.
This aura instantly caught Zhao Wuji's attention. He crossed his arms, but a disdainful sneer played on the corners of his mouth. "Mere two four-ring Spirit Elders, daring to shout in front of me, the Immovable King?" he scoffed. "To deal with you, I don't even bother releasing my spirit."
At this moment, on a dilapidated eaves not far away, a tall and burly figure stood quietly. He was draped in a tattered gray robe, not speaking, just raising the rough pottery wine jar in his hand and taking a light sip of wine.
"First beaten by his son, then beaten by his father... now he's about to be beaten by his son again," he thought to himself. "Interesting..."
