The flames pressed against the shattered walls of the casino, smoke twisting upward like black serpents. More chūnin spilled into the inferno, their blades gleaming, their eyes darting between the two women drenched in gore.
Tsunade scoffed, cracking her knuckles. Her amber gaze swept across the wreckage before fixing on a roulette table still standing amid the blaze. She strode over, braced her legs, and tore one of the thick wooden legs free with a sharp wrench. CRACK. The splinters flew as she hefted the jagged timber in both hands, weighing it like a massive club.
"You don't know who you're fucking with," she growled, her voice cutting through the chaos.
The nearest chūnin lunged at her, kunai raised. He thought steel could block brute force. He was wrong.
SNAP. His wrist twisted backward at an unnatural angle, the kunai clattering away. His scream rang out, high and broken. "You bitch—what did you do?!"
Tsunade's lip curled. "Overpowered you."
Her makeshift club swung in a brutal arc, connecting with his skull. CRACK. His head tore free, spinning through the smoke before landing with a hollow clang inside a trash chute.
Raven pumped her fist from across the room. "Score!"
Tsunade blinked at her. "What?"
"It sounded like the right thing to say," Raven replied casually.
"Focus on the fight!" Tsunade snapped, swinging her weapon again.
Another mercenary darted forward, his hands flashing through seals. "Katon: Phoenix Fire Stream Jutsu!" Spheres of fire erupted from his mouth, streaking toward her.
Tsunade scoffed, unfazed. "It's useless against me."
The man gritted his teeth. "I have to try! Gatō will kill me if I don't!"
With a grunt, she hurled the roulette leg upward, then pivoted, slamming her fist into it mid-air. The timber shattered into a storm of jagged splinters that spun like shrapnel.
The mercenary sneered. "Pathetic. Fire will incinerate—"
His words died in a wet chorus of squelches as the shards ripped through the flames and buried into his flesh. Dozens of wooden splinters pierced his chest and throat, his body jerking violently before collapsing into a grotesque heap.
Tsunade exhaled sharply and turned toward Raven. "I'm done over here. What about you?"
Raven stood calmly, holding two explosive tags between her fingers, their ink glowing faintly in the firelight. "Working on it, Tsunade."
Two more chūnin advanced, their eyes flicking nervously to the seals. "Enough with the damn explosives already!" one shouted.
"But blowing things up is fun," Raven said evenly. "Almost as fun as robbing people."
She flicked the tags forward. The men flinched back instinctively, bracing for detonation. Nothing happened.
Raven tilted her head, lips quirking. "Made you look."
Behind them, two shadow clones flickered into existence from the smoke, their movements silent and precise. SLAP. Each pressed an explosive tag to the mercenaries' backs before dispersing into the mist.
BOOM. BOOM. The chūnin's bodies erupted into bloody chunks, painting the floor with gore.
The flames surged higher, casting long shadows. Through the haze, Shizune appeared, staggering forward with her arms full of bulging sacks, her clothes spattered with blood and soot. Her breath came hard and fast. "Lady Tsunade! I've got all the money from the vault!"
Tsunade spared her a glance, then looked at Raven with a grimace. "Let's get the hell out of here."
Raven gave a single nod. Yumi trotted at her side in fox form, tails flicking as the four of them pushed through the burning wreckage.
Behind them, the casino groaned under its own weight, flames consuming the beams, screams echoing faintly from the men too slow to flee.
Out in the night air, the smoke billowed skyward. Tsunade wiped blood from her cheek with the back of her hand, scowling. Shizune shifted the sacks nervously in her arms, staring at the fire.
Yumi flicked her tails, her voice cool and dry. "That was one hell of a fight. You really know how to piss Gatō off, Raven."
Raven's rinnegan glinted faintly as she looked back at the blaze. "We needed him lured out anyway. I could've stormed the place, but this way was more fun." Her gaze shifted toward Tsunade. "And it helped cure Tsunade at the same time."
Tsunade shot her a murderous glare. "Shut your damn mouth. And what's with that talking fox? That's not Kurama it's the wrong color."
Yumi lifted her head proudly, tails swaying. "As if I would ever be that weak beast. I am far superior to the Nine-Tails."
