"One thought of gods and demons!"
A strange expression crossed Huo Feng's face as he listened to the system's introduction. Why does that name sound so familiar?
A notification pinged in his mind.
[Ding!] [One Thought, Gods and Demons: A dual-attribute spirit skill that can be switched at will.]
[Light Attribute:] [Light Wing Slash: Rapidly unleashes three sword strikes made of light-attribute energy.]
[Dark Attribute:] [Shadow Strike: Conceal yourself in darkness, gather power, and launch a fatal sword strike.]
Huo Feng's eyes lit up. "Does this mean I get two different spirit skills from just one spirit ring?"
Light Wing Slash and Shadow Strike were two completely different styles of attack. It's probably because of their opposing attributes, he thought. They offered him incredible flexibility in a fight.
Just then, the system's voice sounded again.
[The 5,000-year dual-attribute purple spirit ring is ready. Would the host like to fuse with it?]
Having fused two spirit rings before, Huo Feng answered without hesitation.
"Fuse it!"
"Buzz!"
The moment he spoke, a deep purple spirit ring materialized out of thin air in front of him.
"So this is a 5,000-year spirit ring," Huo Feng muttered to himself, examining it closely.
His second spirit ring was a thousand-year purple ring with a fire attribute. Both were at the millennium level, but there was a noticeable difference in their colors. The 5,000-year spirit ring was a much deeper shade of purple and seemed to pulse with a rich, internal luster.
Huo Feng had never shown his second spirit ring to anyone. A thousand-year ring for a Spirit Grandmaster was already shocking enough to attract unwanted trouble. That was why he had only used his first spirit skill when sparring with Tang San. Of course, this made Tang San think he was being looked down on, which was why he kept challenging him.
Looking at the 5,000-year spirit ring floating before him, Huo Feng couldn't help but smile. He imagined standing in front of Yu Xiaogang and telling him that his third spirit ring was 5,000 years old. The "Master" would probably cough up blood on the spot. After all, Yu Xiaogang had spent half his life researching his theory on the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Souls. A single spirit ring from Huo Feng would completely shatter it.
Wouldn't that prove that all the famous "Master's" research was just a big joke?
Huo Feng focused his gaze back on the purple spirit ring. Only now did he notice two small orbs of light, one gold and one black, circling it. They rotated constantly around the ring, and he guessed they must be the source of the "light" and "dark" attributes.
"Swish!"
Activating his spirit power, Huo Feng summoned his martial soul. A longsword crackling with blue arcs of electricity appeared in his hand.
"Buzz!"
With a slight tremble of his right hand, the sword in his hand suddenly changed. The blue lightning faded away, replaced by a deep, crimson red. The crackling arcs vanished, and a raging fire now engulfed the blade. In an instant, the temperature in the entire room rose significantly.
This was the second form of Huo Feng's martial soul: the Fiery Sword. His second spirit skill, Raging Fire Spreads Across the Land, could only be used with this form. To fuse his third spirit ring, he first needed to activate the second form of his martial soul.
"Buzz!"
Sensing the presence of his martial soul, the purple spirit ring, which had been floating motionlessly, instantly shot forward. When it reappeared, it was already circling the Fiery Sword.
"Sizzle!"
As soon as the two opposing attributes made contact, they immediately tried to repel each other. However, the powerful fire of his sword was no match for the two orbs of light; it couldn't affect them at all. Gradually, the gold and black orbs began to melt, slowly spreading over the surface of the blade. The longsword in Huo Feng's hand was now split perfectly down the middle, from the tip of the blade to the hilt. The left side glowed a brilliant gold, while the right side was a deep, matte black.
No one could say when the blazing fire had disappeared. At the same time, Huo Feng felt a powerful, domineering energy surge into his body.
"The energy in this spirit ring is incredible," he thought, realizing it was potent enough to raise his spirit power from level 30 all the way to level 32, and that was a conservative estimate.
[Ding!] [Fusion with the 5,000-year dual-attribute purple spirit ring is complete!] [Congratulations to the host for obtaining the third spirit skill: One Thought of Gods and Demons!]
Hearing the system's voice in his mind, Huo Feng immediately opened the system interface. A light screen appeared, and he tapped on his host information.
"Buzz!"
The screen flickered, and his updated status appeared.
[Host Name: Huo Feng] [Host Martial Soul: Dugu Nine Swords] [First Stage - Thunder Sword] [Second Stage - Fiery Sword] [Third Stage - Sword of Gods and Demons] [Host Spirit Power: Level 33 Spirit Elder]
[Host Spirit Skills:] [First Spirit Skill: Sword-Breaking Slash!] [Second Spirit Skill: Raging Fire Spreads Across the Land!] [Third Spirit Skill: One Thought of Gods and Demons!] [Host Spirit Bones: None] [Host's Wife: None yet]
"Level 33 spirit power." A slight smile touched Huo Feng's lips. The energy from a single 5,000-year spirit ring had allowed him to jump three whole levels. It was truly terrifying.
He was in a great mood. Tomorrow, Notting College would hold its graduation ceremony, and Huo Feng was scheduled to speak as the graduate representative. As the top students of their year, both he and Xiao Wu had received invitations from many intermediate spirit master academies, but Huo Feng had politely declined them all. Even when the dean of Notting College had asked him about his future plans, he had given only vague, polite answers.
He had already told Xiao Wu his true destination: Shrek Academy.
His target was, naturally, the remaining five of the Shrek Seven Devils. The Douluo Continent was huge. If he didn't go to Shrek Academy, he had no idea how he'd ever find the other five. Joining them was the only way to successfully "sacrifice" them, complete his main mission, and receive the rewards. What he would do after that was a problem for another day.
According to the plot he remembered, the entrance exam for Shrek Academy was in one month. He decided they would leave Notting City in a week to head there.
Seven days later. Barak Kingdom, Soto City.
The sun had just risen, casting a cool, comfortable light over the city. Two figures walked through the west gate of Soto City. They were a boy and a girl, both appearing to be in their early teens.
The boy was handsome, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes that stood out on his well-defined face. Dressed in a simple black outfit, his short black hair was neat and practical. Standing at about 1.7 meters tall, he carried himself with an energetic air.
The girl beside him was pretty and cute, with a playful look. Her large, watery eyes were especially charming. A long scorpion braid hung neatly down her back, almost reaching her calves. She wore a pink top and white trousers that highlighted her slender waist. Though her face was still youthful, she had a temperament that seemed beyond her years.
Wherever the young pair went, they drew envious glances from passersby.
It was Huo Feng and Xiao Wu.
