Chapter 15 - The Climax

"Zz… All units, initiate containment maneuver!"

"Fire!"

Raj, who watched from a distance as Jonathan was hurled violently through numerous walls, stepped forward. Along with the Healing Forces' special units, he opened fire without restraint on the wave of flames rising before them.

But within seconds, Jonathan, now covered in blood, returned to the battlefield and joined the agents, shooting blindly into the blaze.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Frederick, who no longer understood anything at this point, drew his weapon, aimed in the same direction, and fired nonstop alongside his bodyguard until his gun ran out of bullets.

The vibrations in the floor and the surroundings were intimidating, but until the dark entity was eliminated, no one was allowed to leave—even if the building was about to collapse.

Barely able to stand, Jonathan, enduring all the pain, summoned his sacred sword once again. The flood of sensations in his body left him dazed and slowed, but even so, the moment he saw a chance to strike, he charged toward the dark entity.

"In the name of the Almighty Lord, who granted me the power to punish the darkness in this world, I sentence you and command you to return to where you belong. Without light, there is no darkness, and sins in life are punished by the actions of fate—so you have no right to judge the living sinners," Jonathan shouted as he sprinted at full speed toward the demon's half-destroyed body.

Fueled by pain, Jonathan swung his sword of light—visible only to a select few.

The tip of the blade pierced the demon's chest, and Jonathan poured all his strength into destroying that powerful dark entity.

"Return to hell!" Jonathan shouted, gripping his sword tightly.

Arghhhhh!!!

The demon's inhuman screams echoed through the building. Raj, who wished to assist, took the lead and, along with the other agents, watched as Jonathan brought the exorcism to its conclusion.

"So, human… you claim the right to judge mankind's sins and kill at will? In the end, you're no different from me…" said the demon before its body turned to ash.

Seeing the demon's body dissolve into the air, Anton looked at the man lying on the ground and, sensing the darkness had vanished, breathed a sigh of relief.

"Is it really over?" Raj couldn't believe it.

But Jonathan, unwilling to leave any loose ends, picked up the revolver from the floor and fired several shots into the man's head.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Finish the rest. I leave it to you," said Jonathan, as he lost mobility in his body for a few seconds.

"Secure the humans. Everyone on this floor must be eliminated!" Raj shouted coldly.

At the sound of the cleansing order, every body on the floor received headshots from the agents.

Jonathan felt his heart clench, but he couldn't speak. All his energy was gone, and all he could do was watch as the agents completed the purge.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Frederick shouted, horrified as he watched the agents finish off the bodies.

"Stop!"

Among the agents, many pointed their weapons at Frederick, watching his reaction closely.

Everyone understood that the demon could be hiding in any of the surrounding human bodies, and a cleansing meant eliminating every living being. But there were exceptions—those not marked by the demon. After executing the marked, the unmarked were to be inspected to determine whether they had been affected.

Any strange behavior would be considered a violation of operational protocol, and they were only waiting on Anton's command to fire. But when nothing came, they remained still.

"What do you do when an incurable infection spreads among people? These are terminal patients, so we're simply giving them a just end. Would you rather we let them suffer?" Raj asked, staring directly at Frederick, who was left speechless.

To others, this might look like cruelty, but they all agreed: any human beyond saving in this place had to be eliminated.

"Victims, sacrifices, and hard choices are part of my job. That's how the world works—and has worked during your best moments, the ones when you were happy," Raj said as he walked down the outer hallway to exit the building.

"Now it's your turn to live with the truth of this world, my friend. Good luck with that…"

Raj signaled the agents to lower their weapons and quickly took charge of making the incident look like a terrorist attack.

Frederick could only watch as Jonathan slowly stood back up, his body covered in wounds.

"I'll decide who in the auditorium should be eliminated. Let's continue," Jonathan said, determined to make sure no innocent lives were lost.
