"Class Incorporeal Entity, the level of darkness is very high, reaching the point of being extreme. We could assume that the malevolent spirit has supernatural powers, it has caused a lot of harm to this family not only physically but mentally, and its fate is the killer…" Doug murmured, identifying the type of entity they were about to eliminate.
"Very well, we'll need to stay mentally strong because we're facing the peak of what darkness can reach… Stay alert, you're the only person who can do something aside from my abilities." Jonathan said, a bit concerned, but he trusted his current abilities.
Doug knew they were facing a powerful enemy, so he nodded after realizing this was a major step toward what he wanted to achieve in this life.
"Priest Jonathan, is everything alright?" Ed approached and asked in a low voice.
When he realized he had been inconsiderate since those weren't comforting words, Jonathan smiled apologetically because he hadn't fully considered that he was now the central focus of everyone in this house.
"All right, gather everyone." But before anything he didn't want to happen could occur, Jonathan warned: "Will you be okay listening to all this?"
"I've already been to one of your jobs." Judy said, quite excited.
"That's true." Jonathan remembered that case where this girl had been there with her friend.
"What's the priest's plan?" At that moment, Ed had already walked to his wife's side and waited for them to explain what they would do.
Lorraine, who had heard what Jonathan was going to do, shared with the others: "They'll do the work tonight…"
Ed nodded when he heard his wife's words. It was a relief to hear from a priest that the problem would be handled in a single night.
In the end, he would never truly worry because if it happened, everything would be fine, and if it didn't, then there was nothing to worry about either, since they wouldn't be able to do anything anyway.
"We'll wait until midnight, we must wait for them to attack."
Jonathan sat in the center of the table for obvious reasons, so he waited in silence for everyone to gather, at least those who were essential for his work.
Ed and Lorraine were inseparable, seated together to Jonathan's right, while Mary and Judy were sitting together in front. As for Officer Brad and Drew, they were respectively to the right and left of Doug.
When everyone was seated, Jonathan showed no sign of indifference. He looked at the gazes directed at him and said calmly: "Father Doug and I have detected that what you all say is true, but there's not just one—there are several."
As soon as those words came out, none of the people present were surprised; they had experienced all kinds of incredible things before.
"Supernatural events in my work have always been divided into two sections: those that can be exorcised and those that cannot be exorcised."
But before everyone could panic, Jonathan didn't stop and continued speaking while watching everyone's expressions. Except for Ed and Lorraine, all the others felt very stunned by what they heard. Everyone felt fear at the thought of an outcome no one wanted in this place.
Fortunately, Jonathan's next words made them feel calm but also mentally exhausted, as if they saw a ray of light in an ocean of pain.
"This place meets the requirements for an exorcism. I will perform the exorcism ceremony tonight."
The voices of Mr. and Mrs. Perron trembled.
"Thank you so much!!"
Hearing those words again, Jonathan looked at them and could see the gratitude in their eyes. He couldn't help but feel sorrow for this family; many should never feel this kind of pain and fear that would mark them for life.
"This is what we must do…" Jonathan responded to the couple's words.
"Night is approaching, we must act now, we must expel all the malevolent spirits tonight…"
Jonathan, who looked at everyone, said: "Now then, I need all of you to clearly understand the requirements I must demand from you in order for you to remain here."
Doug, who had been watching over the children, approached and said: "Rule number one, no one speaks unless they have something important to say. A single word from you can confuse us when we're expelling the malevolent spirits, so it would be wise for you to stay silent."
"Second, in the name of the church, The Order is an organization directly related to the Vatican; anything that happens here cannot be explained to the outside world." Doug was harsh with his words as he gave this point.
Many might have proof of paranormal events like the Warrens, but what they were about to do here involved things more related to the darkest world, things only very few should know.
"And most importantly, any decision we make—you must be aware that we do it to eliminate the evil in this house. By that, I mean anything can happen…" Doug wasn't explicit with these words, but he meant that killing someone who might be possessed was something that could happen.
