It was really him. My Gorgeous Monster. My ruin. The one who had wrecked my life and walked away unscathed. He strode into the High House like he owned it, each step stealing the air from my lungs. My breath hitched, and the world tilted.
Damien looked as if he'd seen a ghost crawl from its grave. The gentlemanly mask he had once admired melted away, leaving a wolf on the edge of frenzy, his beast clawing to tear free.
Lucien halted in the center of the hall, eyes raking the crowd until they found mine. A smirk tugged at his lips. Goddess… he was still devastatingly handsome—silver hair cascading across his face, those burning golden eyes, features carved too perfectly to belong to anything mortal. He looked so much like his brother but still more perfect. She-wolves swooned in their seats, but his gaze—his focus.. was mine alone.
"What are you doing here?" Damien snarled from the altar, voice sharp as broken glass.
