*Why would you talk to her like that?" Damien pushed me, and I stood my ground.
"But why would you defend her? You saw what she did."
"She wouldn't intentionally do that! Why would you hurt her feelings like that?" he barked.
"Then go ahead," I snapped. "Go meet her and console her or something, while I stay here and think about the disadvantage of breaking an important artefact—an artefact worth more than anything."
"You don't even feel remorseful, do you?" Damien said, glaring at me.
I took my gaze away from him.
"I mean, she's right," Shirley muttered. "She broke—"
"Don't you ever interfere in our matters again. Get out." Damien roared at Shirley.
She hissed and rushed out.
Finally.
Then Damien turned back to me.
"Will you go and apologise to your wife right now. This instant."
"There is no need to," I said flatly.
"There is every need to," he growled.
