The monsters stopped moving in the same direction; calm began to return beneath the resplendent full moon.
"Sorry everyone for this scare, and thank you for being so kind to me."
Her smile stretched slowly, fragile, like a flower under the rain, and her voice finally returned to normal.
> [Danger detection – activated]
Suddenly, a hundred golden lances fell from the heavens.
> [Demonic protection – activated]
A black dome emerged around them, shielding them. Not a single spear managed to pierce through.
"But where are these attacks coming from!?" shouted Seris, trembling in fear.
Amane lowered her head and whispered, "I'm sorry… if you stay here, you will all be in danger."
> "No! What are you saying again!?"
"We have to stay united—we're a group!"
> [Zone teleportation – activated]
"No, stop! Don't—"
"Only the user was not teleported."
> [Demonic protection – disabled]
"Finally… they're no longer here. Playing the hypocrite is truly exhausting. Now—time for the real fight."
A silhouette appeared, suspended between heaven and earth. The gray light around it began to tremble.
Its wings unfolded slowly, its feet barely touching the air, as if the wind itself bowed to carry it. The figure slid between the black clouds, crossing them with ethereal grace.
Lightning revealed, in intermittent flashes, its winged form—a deity descending to judge.
It hovered just above the ground, wings beating slowly, scattering shards of cold light against the dark bark of the trees.
"So… this is what they call an apostle," Amane said, imperturbable before such an overwhelming presence.
_ "Miserable creature… Your existence is an affront to the heavens. You dare speak the nonsense of a vile demonoid."
_ "Aaah… you mean the Demon God? True, I may have exaggerated a little."
_ "To use the word God… no, your very existence is a most deplorable affront. You shall die under divine judgment!"
The apostle's voice echoed like a death knell, heavy with authority. His hand rose, and a spear of light formed, burning the air with divine purity.
With a snap, Amane unleashed a storm of black flames. They roared violently, but the apostle cleaved through them with a single swing of his spear, carving a luminous groove that erased the darkness.
The shock was cataclysmic. Thunder shattered the skies, light and darkness colliding in an explosion that shook the earth. Stones burst, cracks split open beneath them, and storm clouds devoured the heavens, lit by the relentless lightning of their clash.
"Do you believe yourself just in this world!?" Amane's incandescent eyes blazed with ancient hatred. "You sow war, and it pleases you!"
The ground itself collapsed, swallowed by a tide of hellfire.
In response, the apostle ascended into the sky, his wings of light spreading like those of a wrathful seraph. Hundreds of radiant spears formed around him, a divine rain ready to descend.
"Still the same attack? Demonic protection," Amane muttered. The dome reappeared, halting the storm of light.
_ "No attack can pierce this skill."
_ "You look upset. Don't worry—I'll take it slow."
_ "How dare you!?"
_ "Now it's time to end this."
> [Metamorphosis – activated]
A black and scarlet wave exploded from Amane, scattering dust and wind. Her clothes tore apart but reformed instantly into a dark, elegant armor, marked with infernal patterns that writhed like flames.
Long horns extended from her skull, yet followed the curve of her hair, preserving the silhouette of her face. Her eyes glowed incandescent purple, her smile unchanged—still undeniably her.
"Impossible… it can't be… then I must…"
The apostle's wings blazed with divine majesty as he raised his hand to the heavens. The clouds split open, revealing a radiant shaft of light. Within it materialized a colossal sword, forged in pure brilliance, unbearable to behold.
"Step of Judgment… cast upon the shadow of this world!"
His voice rang like an oath.
Channeling all his essence, wings spread wide, claws brimming with raw energy, the apostle let out a bestial roar and launched himself forward.
The sacred blade descended in a deadly arc. The world itself froze.
The sword pierced Amane's chest in her current form. The impact shook the earth; a blinding light erupted from the wound, ripping away the darkness cloaking her.
Her incandescent eyes locked with the apostle's one last time.
Breathless yet resolute, he withdrew his sword from her heart. Light slowly receded, leaving behind smoking ruins. His cold gaze lifted toward the horizon.
"Evil must be eradicated."
With each beat of his wings, a rain of golden sparks fell, purifying the air corrupted by battle.
Soon after, the Black Wolf group discovered Amane's lifeless body amid the devastated forest.
> "No… it's not possible… Amane…"
"Why…?"
"Nooooo!"
Cries of despair consumed them.
Erynd cradled her in her arms, whispering, "Amane… I… I love you…" Before their eyes, her body dissolved into dust, scattered by the wind.
"What do we do, Erynd?" Fenric asked, wiping away tears.
"We'll say Amane sacrificed herself to defeat the demon. Her name will be written into history," Erynd declared solemnly.
They left, trying to keep their heads high despite the grief weighing them down.
"Amane Seiren is now deceased. The required conditions have been met; multiple skills will now be activated."

She reappeared, lying asleep on the ground, before rising gently.
"Being dead for a few minutes is far from luxurious…" she sighed deeply.
"Glad to see you again, goddess," Eleanor said, emerging from the shadows, kneeling as her vassal.
"Dammit, you scared me!!!" Amane shouted, startled.
"And what are you doing here?" she asked.
"I was worried about what might happen to you," Eleanor answered.
"You… you shouldn't be here," Amane said, standing tall.
"Why do you give so much trouble for all this?" Eleanor asked.
Amane grew serious and began her explanation:
_ "It all started when I tested my Absolute Eyes. They could also see the future, so I used a mirror to look into my own."
_ "I didn't even know that was possible…"
_ "Neither did I. But returning to the point—I saw multiple futures, all different, yet in every single one I failed to survive the gods. Right now they're still inactive."
_ "Inactive? What do you mean?"
_ "I don't know exactly… but once they truly awaken, I won't be able to stop them. Their power is endless."
_ "So you even know the moment they'll act on the world?"
_ "That's why I simulated my death, pretending to be a demon more powerful than the Demon King."
_ "So all of this was part of your plan from the start! Even that night in the church—you only appeared before the priestess so she would suspect you…"
_ "Exactly. She doubted me and, in the end, warned the gods herself—sending the apostle to kill me."
_ "So you terrified an entire city for this? Even demons aren't that cruel."
_ "Shut up! Since when do you joke around? In a week, they will reconnect with this world. Yet no matter what I tried in the future—even reincarnation itself—every skill was useless. Their stats are endless. But… there is one solution."
_ "What is it?"
_ "It's complicated, but with the Domain of Reality, I can rewrite history. In a new branch, if I seal my powers in the old one and only adjust a few details, it should work."
_ "So you'll reincarnate in a new body, sealing your powers inside this reality."
_ "Uh… yeah, that's the idea. Now it's time to finish the plan."
She typed on her ethereal keyboard:
"Number of required skills: 400 assimilated. Evolution initiated."
"Your Divine Writer skill has reached level 20. Evolution commencing…"
Her body shone once again in a golden glow, her hair lifting in waves.
"… Evolution complete."

As Amane rewrote history, the entire world faltered. The air vibrated, as if reality itself struggled to bear the weight of her ink.
"One last thing, goddess… what is your true objective?" Eleanor asked.
Amane answered, but only her lips moved—her smile radiant, her words unheard.
Eleanor also spoke. Amane widened her eyes at the words, but then smiled—magnificent, sincere, and honest.
"If that's what you wish… then I'll see you on the other side."
"…100%."
Her body dissolved. First her contours vanished, then her form itself, until nothing remained but fragments of light drifting into space.
She disappeared into nothingness, as though her existence had never been. Her last words faded into silence:
"Even if I have to start over… I will break this destiny."
Then, nothing. An endless void. Time, space, existence itself… all extinguished.
…
Suddenly, a small voice echoed in the darkness—clear, innocent, almost playful.
"And that's how I reincarnated. Sorry… I don't really remember the details."
Another voice, timid and curious, quickly followed:
"So then… what are you planning now?"
A soft laugh slipped out before the final reply:
"Who knows?"
