Asia's living arrangements were settled with a collective shrug. Since Draconis didn't have time to hunt for an apartment today, Asia would crash in the club room for now. Problem solved—sort of.
Rias emerged from her bath, wrapped in nothing but a towel, bare shoulders and long legs on full display. Water droplets trailed behind her as she padded barefoot to the sofa. She settled in, looking every inch the queen, and fixed Draconis with a thoughtful stare.
"There's something I've been thinking about. Today, you managed to drive off that stray exorcist, Draconis."
He met her gaze, calm as ever. "Is that a problem?"
"Exorcists aren't just anyone. They're handpicked elites. Even mid-class devils usually struggle against them. For you to beat one… That's impressive."
Akeno chimed in, her eyes sparkling. "Ara, she's right. Last time you fought that high-class fallen angel, you were still wounded. But today you handled an exorcist without a scratch."
Koneko nodded, her voice soft. "You've gotten stronger. Fast."
Draconis just smiled, utterly unfazed. "Keep the praise coming. I don't mind."
Everyone: "…"
He was talented, sure. But that cocky streak—sometimes you just had to roll your eyes.
Rias's expression softened with approval, but then a shadow crossed her face. Something weighed on her mind.
"But… we're running out of time."
Draconis frowned. "What do you mean?"
Rias didn't answer. She just looked at him, shook her head, and let the silence linger.
"It's nothing. You're getting stronger, Draconis, and I'm proud of you. But it's not enough." Her gaze was serious, almost pleading. "You need to get stronger. Much stronger."
Akeno watched quietly, concern flickering in her eyes. She knew Rias well enough to sense the gravity behind those words. If even Rias was this troubled, it could only mean one thing…
So she's pinning her hopes on Draconis now? Akeno sighed inwardly. Wasn't that asking too much? Draconis was talented, but nowhere near ready to face that kind of threat.
Draconis heard Rias's quiet resolve, and though he didn't fully understand, he'd already guessed she needed his help for something big.
"I'll get stronger," he said, voice steady and sure.
It wasn't bravado, just simple certainty. The kind that made you believe he really would fly higher and faster than anyone else.
Rias's face softened. She reached out, fingertips brushing gently along his cheek. "I know. I've always believed in you…"
She exhaled, a breath of relief. "But as your master, I can't just sit on the sidelines. Starting tomorrow morning, I'll help you with special training."
Draconis didn't hesitate. Having Rias—a high-class devil—as his coach was an opportunity he'd never turn down.
And so, Rias's training began.
—
The next morning, Draconis arrived at the park just after five. Rias was already there, dressed in a red tracksuit. The fabric stretched tight across her chest, and even in workout gear, her curves were impossible to hide.
Draconis couldn't help but stare for a moment. Strange—he'd seen her with nothing on, but somehow, this sporty look was even more distracting.
Rias: temptress, confirmed.
She caught his gaze and smiled, amused. "Eyes front. Time to train."
Draconis grinned, unashamed. "Sorry, President. You just look too good."
"If you like it, I'll play with you all you want when we get back," Rias teased, voice silky. "But for now, focus on your workout."
Draconis stretched, feeling power ripple through his body. Rias's expression turned serious.
"Human, angel, devil—it doesn't matter. The body is always the foundation. Physical training comes first. Only then can you handle magic surges and learn real combat technique."
She started issuing orders. "First up: push-ups. One thousand."
Draconis blinked. So it was still the same routine he'd always done. A thousand push-ups? Easy.
He dropped to the ground and started. But after just a few reps, Rias walked over and sat down on his waist.
Her weight pressed down, the warmth of her body unmistakable. Draconis grimaced, but kept going. If she'd done this in his bedroom, it would've been a whole different kind of workout.
Whatever. He powered through, push-up after push-up.
Rias rose and fell with his movements, watching him closely. After two hundred, she looked genuinely impressed. "Your stamina's solid. You've been training regularly, haven't you?"
"Maybe it's just the motivation," Draconis joked, voice low. "Having a gorgeous woman sitting on me makes it easier."
"No funny business with your hips," Rias warned, grinning.
"Wouldn't dream of it. If I'm going to get wild, I'll wait till we're home and you're ready to play," Draconis shot back, never missing a beat.
He finished the thousand push-ups, and Rias moved to his legs for sit-ups. She sat facing him, bold and unfiltered. Every time he came up, her body was just inches from his face.
Now that was motivation.
If all training sessions were like this, he could get used to it.
After becoming a devil, Draconis's stamina had skyrocketed. But after hours of high-intensity training, even he felt the burn.
"Alright, that's enough for now," Rias said, clapping her hands. She was perched on his shoulders—he'd just run a full circuit with her riding piggyback, twenty kilometers nonstop. Sweat dripped down his face.
He set her down, and Rias smiled, stepping close to wipe his brow.
"You worked hard. You're drenched—want to shower together? We can teleport straight to school after."
Draconis caught his breath, grinned, and nodded. "Sounds good."
