Chapter 117 - 《DXD: Transfer Student》Chapter 117: The Regalia Blade

The last time Draconis faced a Holy Sword wielder, it was in that warped pocket dimension with the fallen angel research team. That battle had left a mark—he'd seen power that outstripped even high-class devils.

Irina flashed a fang, proud. "Oh? You actually recognize a Holy Sword? Not bad. Guess you've done your homework."

She twirled her blade, eyes gleaming. "Better watch yourself—mine's a Mimic Holy Sword, built to counter devils like you. Xenovia's got the Destruction type. Trust me, getting nicked by either hurts like hell."

Her voice was playful, almost smug. Typical Irina.

Draconis didn't bat an eye. He'd already tangled with this kind of weapon before.

"Appreciate the warning. But you should worry about yourselves."

He struck first, no hesitation—one against two didn't faze him.

Xenovia called out, "Irina, let me handle him solo." She didn't want to gang up, it seemed.

With a burst of speed, Xenovia met Draconis head-on. Their swords collided—Regalia Blade against Holy Sword—sending out a shriek of metal and a wave of force that forced both fighters back.

Irina's eyes widened. She stared at Draconis's blade, sensing a pressure that felt… regal. Like facing a king in his prime.

Xenovia pressed the attack, matching Draconis's magic and weapon blow for blow, her curiosity growing. Her own sword was a fragment—a lesser Destruction Holy Sword—while his felt like the real deal, something more than a standard Sacred Gear.

Draconis never feared the Holy Swords. Rias had already schooled him on their history: once, the Church's legendary swords were forged from the shattered remains of a true king's blade. Seven Holy Swords born from fragments—powerful, but none matched the original.

And the blade in his hand? It was a king's sword too.

The Aegis of the Virtuous Monarch—its original master had fought for peace, protected millions, earned the worship of gods and men alike. A sword and shield forged from such a legacy, blessed by divinity itself—how could it be outclassed by mere fragments?

Xenovia sized him up, respect flickering in her eyes. Draconis stood tall, silver blade shining, calm but radiating a presence that felt like he commanded legions. For a moment, he seemed less a boy and more a living embodiment of faith.

His mind was clear, his grip sure. With every battle, he grew more attuned to the Regalia Blade's power—bit by bit, its secrets unfolded.

"You should both come at me," Draconis said quietly. He stepped forward, vanishing from sight.

Xenovia kept up, her own speed impressive—within her rank, few could match her. But Draconis wasn't just any mid-tier devil. He was holding back, and still had plenty of tricks in reserve.

Xenovia wanted a fair fight, but Draconis's next move shattered that hope. His blade surged, magic amplifying in an instant—power multiplied, overwhelming.

Irina gasped. "What the—!" She dove into the fray, joining Xenovia to block the incoming strike.

Smart move. On her own, Xenovia's Destruction Holy Sword wouldn't have stood a chance.

Draconis brought the Regalia Blade down, raw power crackling. Both Holy Swords were knocked aside—not because they were weak, but because Irina and Xenovia hadn't expected the sudden surge.

Three blades clashed, demonic energy erupted, and a cyclone of force tore through the plaza—shop fronts shattered, debris flying. If Draconis hadn't cleared the area with his reality-bending magic, it would've been chaos.

Irina and Xenovia were sent flying, landing hard. They coughed, struggling to their feet, divine power inside them scrambled.

Draconis didn't press the attack; his blade shimmered, dissolving into silver light.

That last blow hadn't been gentle—if they hadn't managed to block, they'd be nursing real wounds.

Xenovia's voice was shaky, but curious. "What was that? Your strength… it spiked out of nowhere."

Draconis nodded. "It's one of my Sacred Gear's abilities."

He didn't bother hiding it. After mastering the Citadel of Endless Dusk in the Rating Game, he'd realized the Regalia Blade had its own unique power—amplification. He'd always focused on the shield, but now he understood the sword's potential.

Just as the shield could become invincible, the blade could amplify his offense, making for a devastating surprise.

"That was just a lesson. Asia's a devil now—she's not your Church's concern anymore. She deserves a new life. Don't come looking for her again."

Draconis turned away, walking to Asia and gently taking her hand.

Only after they'd left did Xenovia and Irina finally let themselves collapse, coughing up blood in unison.

Irina whimpered, voice trembling. "Owww… we really got schooled…"
