"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 159: I Like Being the Passive One
Draconis and Asia had both been burned by fallen angels before. Draconis, in fact, had literally died at their hands once. That alone was enough to leave him with zero fondness for fallen angels.
But he wasn't shallow.
Just because Akeno was a fallen angel, and he couldn't stand fallen angels, did that mean he should hate her? Please. Life wasn't that simple.
He knew exactly who treated him well and who didn't. That was basic.
"You're overthinking it, Akeno. I hate fallen angels—the ones who run wild, arrogant, cruel. They're nothing like you. Don't mix up bloodline and how I actually feel."
She looked away. "But I am a fallen angel's daughter. That's the truth."
Draconis smiled, voice steady. "That just makes you special. You're one of the very few fallen angels I actually like."
He spoke with quiet certainty, wrapping her in a gentle embrace. "Don't let your bloodline make you feel small or sad. Who you are isn't written in your DNA."
Akeno's eyes softened. "Are you… giving me a pep talk?"
"If you're listening, maybe."
She laughed, a little shaky. "Can you hold me tighter? I always feel safe in your arms."
No way he'd say no. He pulled her closer. Her shrine maiden robes slipped, revealing a bare, snowy shoulder.
Collarbone exposed, high ponytail trailing, Akeno radiated a kind of dangerous beauty.
She gazed up at him, eyes brimming with emotion. "I've made up my mind. I want to be with you. You like Rias, right?"
"Yeah."
"Then I guess I can't be the main girl. And there's Asia, and your other girlfriends… If I'm third, fourth, or fifth, I don't care. I'll take it."
Draconis chuckled. "How'd you end up thinking about that?"
Akeno gave a rueful smile, a hint of jealousy in her voice. "Because you like too many people. Seriously, you're such a heartbreaker…"
"Heartbreaker, huh…? They like me, so of course I respond. I just go with the flow now. If they ever stop liking me, I'd never force it. It's all fate, really."
He was honest about it. When it came to feelings, he never played games. If he liked someone, he said so. If the relationship deepened, he didn't hide it.
Akeno sighed. She knew he was telling the truth—he'd always been this way.
But still…
"That's all well and good, but you're just too lovable, Draconis."
He thought for a moment, genuinely. "Except for my first girlfriend, I've never actually chased after anyone."
"That's exactly the problem…" Akeno's smile was wry. "You've never gone after anyone, and you're already this irresistible. If you ever started being proactive…"
He laughed. "Nah, I'm not chasing anyone. Chasing girls is way too much work."
He grinned, teasing. "I'll just wait for girls like you to come to me. I like being passive."
Akeno: "…"
She couldn't help but laugh, exasperated. It was such a weird thing to say.
But she knew how hard it was to get his attention. She remembered how cold and distant he'd been when they first met. Compared to back then, he'd changed a lot.
"How about I give you a lap pillow instead of Rias?"
He smirked. "Now that's something to look forward to."
So, guided by Akeno, Draconis settled his head onto her lap.
Her thighs were as soft as they looked—perfect for resting.
Watching him relax, eyes closed, Akeno couldn't resist stroking his hair.
"Comfortable?"
"Very. The floor's a bit hard, though."
"Then… should we move to the bed?" She nodded toward a side room. "That's my bedroom."
Draconis glanced over. "You still live here?"
"Mm-hmm. Ever since I found out Rias gets to sleep with you every night, I've felt a little lonely."
Her voice was softer than usual, edged with real vulnerability. Was she… pouting?
Definitely pouting.
Usually she was all "ara ara" and teasing, but right now she was just a sweet, bashful girl.
He couldn't help but smile. He stood, scooped her up in his arms, and carried her to her room.
The bedroom was simple—no frills, just neat lines and cool colors. A few clothes hung from a rack, giving the place a lived-in feel.
He set her gently on the bed, leaned over, and kissed her deeply.
They stayed like that for a long moment before finally parting.
He looked down at her—Akeno in her shrine maiden outfit, her aura somehow different. Devil or not, she fit the robes perfectly. No contradiction at all.
"Do I look pretty?" she asked, cheeks flushed as she met his gaze.
"Beautiful. That shrine maiden look is perfect on you, Akeno."
He smiled, voice low. "Honestly, I almost don't want you to take it off."
She laughed, playful again. "Ara ara, then let's keep going just like this."
Her hands slid onto his shoulders, tongue trailing across her lips, throat working as she swallowed.
"Just mess me up like this."
Looking at her, anyone would think she was some kind of succubus.
But Akeno was on a whole other level.
Her robes were already rumpled, ponytail loosened, stray hairs clinging to her cheeks—one even caught between her lips.
Her long black hair fanned out over the bed. Draconis leaned in, swept away by her beauty.
…She really was a temptress.
He kissed her again, lips trailing to her cheeks, her earlobes, her neck…
Akeno raised the shrine's barrier, and together they lost themselves in each other.
