Itsuki slowly drifted back to consciousness, the stark, antiseptic smell of a hospital room invading his senses before he even opened his eyes.
When he finally blinked the blurriness away, he found himself propped up on a thin hospital bed, thick white bandages wrapped tightly around his chest. But what caught his attention immediate was the weight pressed against his side. His mother, Naori Uchiha, was curled up beside him on the narrow mattress, fast asleep.
Is this even allowed in a hospital? was his immediate, dazed thought. Pretty sure hospital guidelines frown on family members co-sleeping in a same medical bed. Then again, she is Uchiha clan elder. Who's going to tell her no? Danzo ?

Before he could imagine Danzo's face saying Damn Uchigga, a dull ache in his throat reminded him of how parched he was. His stomach let out a faint growl to match he was completely starved. Glancing over at the bedside table, he spotted a pitcher of water and a bowl of fresh fruit just out of reach.
He braced himself and tried to sit up, but the moment he engaged his core, a sharp, searing pain shot through his ribs. Without the adrenaline from battle pumping through his veins, the raw reality of his injuries hit him all at once. He gasped, stifling a wince.
The sudden movement immediately woke Naori. Her eyes snapped open, and without a second thought, she threw her arms around him, wrapping him in a fierce, tight hug.
Itsuki froze, taking in the moment. So much for fanfiction tropes, he thought wryly. There was no suffocating softness pressing against him Naori has a built sitting around a modest B-cup at best. For that famous experience, he'd probably have to track down Tsunade. Then again, given his cracked ribs, maybe it was just she is being remarkably gentle with him.
Softening his posture, he leaned slightly into her warmth, letting the quiet comfort of his mother's presence wash over the pain. Her warm breath hit his shoulder as she murmured, her voice laced with sheer relief, "Itsuki...Thank the Sage you're awake."
He patted her back awkwardly. "Mom... water... my throat is drying up"
Naori immediately snapped into hyper-focused Mom Mode. She whipped around, poured a full glass of water, and held it to his lips to drink. Itsuki chugged it down, his throat finally feeling less like a desert wasteland.
Without missing a beat, Naori pulled a knife from her ninja gear, took an apple and a mango from the table. With terrifying, Shinobi-level surgical precision, she peeled and diced the fruits, and feeding him.
Once the plate was picked clean, the atmosphere in the room shifted instantly. The motherly warmth evaporated, replaced by the terrifying, sharp demeanor of an elite Uchiha.
She leaned in, her eyes locked onto his. "Alright, Itsuki. Tell Mom exactly what happened out there. How on earth did you encounter that thing?"
Itsuki froze, a piece of mango almost going down the wrong pipe.
Oh boy.
He couldn't exactly say, Well, you see, a System interface popped up in my vision and handed me a creature like a gacha game reward because it was my birthday.
If I said that, they'd lock me in a cell of the the Yamanaka clan's psych ward or I will be brain rapped by mother's Mangekyou.
To make matters worse, he couldn't just brush it off as a one-time accident either. The system was going to drop another random summon and item on his lap every single year on his birthday. He needed a lie that was vague enough to cover his ass today, but flexible enough to explain whatever future chaotic bullshit dropped out of the sky on his eighth birthday.
Time to play the ultimate card: Pure, Unadulterated Childhood Innocence.
Itsuki widened his eyes, trying his best to look like an innocent, confused little angel who had just wandered into a weird filler episode.
"I... I don't fully know, Mom," he began, laying down the foundation for the lie. "I was just sitting by the lake, taking a break after training. Then a glowing white disc materialized right over the water out of nowhere."
Naori's raised her eyebrow slightly. "A glowing disc?"
He gestured wildly with his hands, ignoring the dull throb in his ribs. "It was different from the usual summoning jutsu that weird snake-dragon thing appeared from it and attacked me"
He slumped back onto his pillow, letting out a soft sigh, silently praying his best I'm just a smol cute boy act would pass her Uchiha Lie-Detector test.
Naori leaned in, her eyes glinting with a mix of intense maternal curiosity and the terrifying analytical instinct of an Uchiha ninja.
"What were its abilities?" she asked, tilting her head. "Did it show anything strange?"
Before Itsuki could answer, a downright sinister, gleeful smile broke across her face. "Because whatever that snake-dragon was, it fired off a few of those massive golden destructive beams and completely vaporized a Root base on the outskirts of the village. Clean off the map."
Itsuki mentally snorted. Even this early in the timeline, literally nobody likes Danzo. The man is universally recognized as the asshole of the Hidden Leaf. GYARADOS, YOU ABSOLUTE GIGA-CHAD! I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING BAD I SAID ABOUT YOU! YOU FUCKING NUKED DANZO'S ASS!
Then he winced internally. Ninja intel-gathering habits are terrifying. She already knows about the hyper beams and wants to know about other abilities. But then again ninja's are supposed to be spy and intel collector.
"Right... well," Itsuki began, "From what I experienced, it basically showed two main attacks to attack me. The first one was just a super quick blast of water. It didn't hit as hard, but it came out almost instantly."
Naori nodded slowly, absorbing the combat data. "And the second?"
"The golden beam," Itsuki said, rubbing his chest gingerly. " It took a few moments to charge up before it could fire."
Naori listened intently, her face shifting from intense focus into a pure, smug, unapologetically proud mom expression. Her son had basically just tanked and analyzed a giant chakra-beast's attack pattern while bleeding out. That's my boy, her face practically screamed.
"Oh, and one more thing!" Itsuki added quickly, remembering a crucial detail "It also has genjutsu thing going on."
Naori raised an eyebrow. "A genjutsu?"
"Yeah, like an aura," Itsuki explained, waving his hand around to demonstrate. "The second you look at it, this overwhelming wave of dread hits you. It's called... uh, lets call it Intimidate. It basically amplifies your natural fear the moment you lock eyes with it."
Naori's eyes flickered with keen interest. "And how did you snap out of a fear-inducing aura like that?"
In response, Itsuki didn't say a word. He just stared right back at her and focused his chakra. A instant later, his pupils bled into a vivid crimson, revealed two fully formed, spinning tomoe in each eye.
"I awakened my Sharingan," Itsuki said, trying to sound cool and stoic despite sitting in a hospital bed. "The chakra surge broke the genjutsu and gave me enough reaction time to survive."
Naori froze. Her eyes widened, staring at the two-tomoe red glow in her seven-year-old son's eyes. Then, her face contorted into a wide, unhinged grin, and a strange, low chuckle escaped her throat:
"Hehehehe... ahahaha..."
Itsuki stared at her blankly. Honestly, he thought, if I were any other normal child, I would have screamed 'PERVERT!' at the top of my lungs and speed-dialed the Child Protective Services. But I'm an Uchiha. Every single person in this clan who unlocks a Mangekyō eventually develops a manic, villainous laugh. It's basically a genetic rite of passage at this point. She's fine probably.
Naori snapped out of her mini-manic episode, leaned down, and aggressively ruffled his hair until it looked like a bird's nest.
"Sharingan at seven!" she squealed with a smug, glowing pride. "You really are my son! Now, take some rest and recover. Mom has a few things to handle."

She gave him a sharp wink undoubtedly off to go and turned to sweep dramatically out the door.
One second passed.
The door burst open again. Naori stuck her head back into the room, her serious ninja demeanor completely evaporated.
"Oh, wait! What about your birthday celebration?" she asked cheerfully. "Do you want to do it tonight here in the hospital room, or wait until we get home after you recover?"
Itsuki blinked, utterly bewildered. "Are hospital rules really this lenient?! Is that even okay? I literally have broken ribs!"
Naori waved her hand dismissively, casually brushing off the entire medical establishment. "Pfft, please. It's fine! Your injuries aren't even that serious, just a few cracked bones. So, what's the verdict?"
Itsuki looked around the depressing, sterile room, then back at his mother's expectant face.
"...Today. At the hospital," Itsuki declared proudly, leaning back against his pillows with a grin. "A real man should never keep cake waiting!"
