Ye Lan chuckled, implicitly agreeing and saying nothing further.
It wasn't long before Iruka entered. Ye Lan instinctively glanced at him, a very familiar feeling welling up.
Iruka was Naruto's teacher. His hair was tied back, and a long scar ran across his nose – that was his defining feature. Moreover, Iruka was a Chunin, and his strength was quite good. He also had a very kind personality; that was Ye Lan's impression of him.
Seeing Kakashi and Ye Lan, Iruka greeted them, "Kakashi-sensei, what brings you here?"
Kakashi looked at Iruka and said with a smile, "I'm delivering a new student to you."
"A new student?" Iruka was taken aback, then looked at Ye Lan. "I don't think I've seen you around the village before. You look familiar, and we usually take in younger students. At your age... you wouldn't happen to still be unable to use the Clone Technique, would you?"
Ye Lan gave an embarrassed laugh.
Kakashi interjected, "His name is Ye Lan. He's from another village."
"He intends to settle permanently in Konohagakure and will be one of us from now on. So, he's here with you to take a test. He'll also get his Headband, and then he'll be a Genin."
Iruka understood. "Ah, I see. Alright, Ye Lan. At the Ninja Academy, we teach some relatively basic ninjutsu. The graduation exam is, well, things like Substitution Jutsu and Clone Technique. I wonder, do you know how to do the Clone Technique?"
Ye Lan scratched his head awkwardly and said, "I'm not very good at it yet."
Kakashi stood to the side, his face a mask of disbelief. Someone who could use the Great Fireball Technique couldn't use the Clone Technique?
Iruka chuckled. "Alright, well, I'll teach you now. Judging by the amount of Chakra you have, learning the Clone Technique shouldn't be too difficult. First, I'll do the Hand Seals, watch carefully. After you're done, go back and practice a bit, and in a few days you can come back and take the test."
Iruka began making Hand Seals, and in an instant, a clone identical to Iruka appeared beside him. If Ye Lan hadn't known the situation, even he wouldn't have been able to tell which one was the real Iruka.
Iruka dispelled the clone and asked Ye Lan, "Well? Did you see my Hand Seals clearly?"
Ye Lan grinned, then quickly made Hand Seals and shouted, "Clone Technique!"
Two clones appeared simultaneously. Two clones identical to Ye Lan appeared at the same time. And their Chakra concentration wasn't low either.
Seeing this scene, both Kakashi and Iruka were stunned.
Iruka had told Ye Lan to come back in a few days to take the test, but Ye Lan had actually performed the Clone Technique after just watching Iruka's Hand Seals once. How was that even possible?
It was something ordinary people couldn't do. Learning a ninjutsu wasn't just about learning the Hand Seals; it also required the body to resonate with it. The more difficult the ninjutsu, the more true this was. So, under normal circumstances, even the simplest ninjutsu would take at least three to five days to learn. But Ye Lan had learned it in such a short amount of time. This was almost beyond Iruka's comprehension!
Kakashi, meanwhile, was squinting at Ye Lan.
