Chapter 84 - Chapter 84

Chapter 84: Mangekyo Sharingan

Sasuko tossed and turned in bed, chaotic thoughts making sleep impossible.

Just as she stared blankly at the ceiling, a faint sound suddenly came from Yu's room across the way.

Though it quickly returned to silence, an inexplicable unease spread through her heart.

Since she couldn't sleep, she might as well go confirm with her own eyes. She threw on an outer garment and quietly came to Yu's door.

She knocked and asked, "Yu? I think I heard a strange sound..."

The clone's heart tightened, but he immediately lowered his voice, deliberately adding some sleepiness. "Sasuko, you must have heard wrong... It's so late, go to sleep soon."

But the silence outside lasted only a moment before Sasuko's still-worried inquiry came again, clearer and more resolute than before:

"Yu... can you open the door?"

The clone was about to make another excuse to delay—after all, Naruko's fragrance still lingered in the room—when it suddenly sensed familiar Flying Thunder God chakra fluctuations surging outside the door.

"Not good!"

Sasuko was about to directly teleport to where the real body was!

In desperation, the clone couldn't worry about anything else and instantly dispersed after forming seals.

It had done all it could. The remaining mess could only be cleaned up by the real body itself.

....

As golden light scattered, Sasuko landed beside the familiar presence.

She stood barefoot on the cold floor. Before she could speak, her gaze abruptly froze.

Before her, Naruko was tightly wrapped in bedding standing beside Yu, the body beneath the covers obviously wearing not a stitch, undulating curves vaguely visible.

Her face was flushed, several golden strands plastered to her forehead, one small hand timidly clutching Yu's sleeve, eyes glistening with water, full of lingering embarrassment and panic.

And Yu had just released his hand from steadying her.

The air seemed to freeze in this moment.

Sasuko stared blankly at them, fingers unconsciously covering her slightly parted lips. She murmured, "How could..."

And in the next moment, her eyes suddenly changed—pitch-black pupils instantly dyed crimson, one tomoe appearing and rapidly spinning; immediately the second, then third emerged in succession, finally interweaving into a cold and complex Mangekyo pattern.

Brilliant yet dangerous light patterns spun rapidly in her eyes.

Yu gazed at the eerily rotating Mangekyo Sharingan in his sister's eyes, his heart sinking heavily. He knew better than anyone what cruel loss and despair was required to awaken these eyes. A surge of overwhelming guilt instantly gripped his heart.

"Sasuko, listen to me..." He stepped forward, voice carrying unprecedented panic as he tried to explain this absurd situation.

However, Sasuko seemed to exist in a soundless abyss.

She could see Yu's lips moving but couldn't hear any sound—only the roar of blood rushing in her ears.

Two crimson tears of blood slid from her eyes as the most important faith in her life collapsed before her.

The person for whom she was willing to wear away all her edges, change everything, now stood beside another girl in disarray—and this girl was her so-called "friend"?

Was she still not good enough?

All her devotion and restraint instantly became a pale and boring joke.

And now she finally had nothing left...

Naruko instinctively clutched the bedding around her, shocked speechless by the scene before her.

She'd never seen Sasuko like this—that girl who was always coolly composed, seemingly disdainful of everything, now held only ultimate despair and destructive desire.

Sasuko walked barefoot toward Yu, step by step, numb. She raised her hand, icy fingers gently caressing his cheek with a movement carrying heartbreaking tenderness.

Those Mangekyo Sharingan still spun madly, blood tears continuously flowing as if burning away all her emotions and life.

Yu's heart chilled. He clearly sensed these eyes were extracting Sasuko's chakra at a terrifying speed, even beginning to faintly erode her life essence.

Magnetic force lines instantly coiled up, trying to seal her movements and suppress the energy loss.

Yet even under such absolute restraint, that massive energy still flowed uncontrollably toward her eyes.

Yu's pupils contracted sharply, inner turmoil surging—how was this possible? Back then even Danzo had no power to resist this technique, unable even to self-destruct!

The Mangekyo in Sasuko's eyes still spun madly, blood tears unchecked.

Yu suddenly realized—this eye technique wasn't activating, but had already completed.

It wasn't "absorbing" but "reclaiming."

From the beginning, this wasn't a process that could be interrupted by ordinary means. The chakra and life it demanded were simply the already-advanced price, the debt that must be repaid once the contract was established.

All attempts to obstruct were futile before the absoluteness of the rule.

—This was a rule-based eye technique transcending common sense.

Yu pulled Sasuko into his embrace, unhesitatingly pouring his own chakra into her continuously. However, in mere moments, his vast chakra was completely devoured by those Mangekyo.

Without hesitation, he immediately activated Magnetic Field Rotation, generating immense energy from nothing and forcibly injecting it into her body again.

Yet even so, in just moments, the energy transferred already equaled the entire Nine-Tails' chakra reserves, yet was still greedily absorbed completely by the eye technique.

Yu's expression turned completely grim. What kind of eye technique required such terrifying energy support?

Seeing this, Naruko started to step forward but was directly sent into the Kamui dimension by Yu. Before this level of consumption, a Little Kurama with only one-tenth the main body's chakra was utterly useless.

The sky gradually brightened, faint light seeping into the room, illuminating Sasuko's pale and delicate profile.

Her expression was vacant, like a soulless puppet, allowing those Mangekyo to continuously devour unimaginable amounts of energy.

Even Yu with three hundred thousand horsepower of magnetic field force gradually felt overwhelmed under this scale of consumption. The energy he endlessly converted was like rivers entering the sea, yet could never fill the eye technique's bottomless demand.

What kind of eye technique was this? To first determine the "effect," then retroactively demand the "cause" to realize it?

Just as Yu could barely continue, the mad absorption finally slowly ceased—seemingly finally reaching some minimum activation threshold.

The surrounding scenery suddenly twisted and stretched, then began flowing backward madly.

In Sasuko's vision, she saw herself standing in the current room. The next moment her perspective rapidly flew backward, through corridors, retreating to the entrance, then reversing to her family estate under nightfall... Everything was backtracking, as if time's film was being forcibly rewound by an invisible hand.

And at this moment, the clock on the wall pointed precisely to midnight.
