Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: A Ruthless Man, Without a Doubt

It wasn't that Henry was heartless, but rather that all the enemies who knew he had acted alone had to die.

Because this record was too unreasonable.

Although it could barely be explained, for example, Henry had placed several Winchester Rifles with full chambers beside him.

Moreover, this group of people was originally going to commit an act of extermination, so at this point, it could only be said that retribution had arrived.

After calling out names, Henry slowly walked down the hill, trying to collect each cavalryman's corpse as he passed them.

If he couldn't collect it, he would shoot them in the chest, and they would immediately become collectible.

But Henry did not actually collect the bodies of these cavalrymen; he merely searched each one.

Ten minutes later, the 46 cavalrymen who had escaped returned to their starting camp.

Ten of them were directly dispatched by Sean, and they immediately returned to Dwyer Manor, two miles away.

More than ten minutes later, Sean, who was over fifty years old, listened to the knights' report and felt as if the sky was falling.

He had originally opposed directly attacking the police station in Fresco Town, but unfortunately, Ronald was not up to par, having only three or five helpers within the police station.

As for going to war with Mayor William and the Sinclair Family he represented, Sean agreed.

Because with such immense profits, the Sinclair Family would not share them with others once they knew about it, and if the Sinclair Family mobilized most of their family's strength, they could completely swallow the profits of this huge gold mine.

Coupled with the strong attitude of the young and strong leader of the main branch in Denver, Sean ultimately fully executed the main branch's plan.

Leveraging past connections, he recruited the renowned "Evil Wolf" Michael Dorin and his gang, along with nearly a hundred cavalrymen hired by the main branch, to attack Sheriff Brian.

After all, Sean was also very clear about Sheriff Brian's past achievements and current strength.

No matter how strong the combat operational capability, once a person falls into a certain death ambush and is surrounded by over a hundred guns, he is certainly doomed to die.

Who would have thought that although the two ambush teams separated due to Michael's unruly nature and reckless pursuit of merit, Brian did indeed die, but then a Henry surprisingly popped up!

And this Henry was surprisingly powerful enough to wipe out all the bandit cavalrymen!

When Sean received this intelligence, he thought he had heard some mythical story; even legendary hero novels wouldn't dare to write like this!

Especially since Henry's intelligence was clear at a glance: he was born and raised in Fresco Town, and had always been a well-behaved, ordinary child.

The only slightly special thing might be his background, but his lineage had long since declined, and he had appeared even more ordinary since his Sheriff grandfather passed away four years ago.

No matter how you looked at it, it was impossible to see how Henry could be so strong; how could a child hide it from an entire town for so long?!

In any case, this Henry is definitely a ruthless man, and the hatred between him and the family cannot be eliminated.

So Sean agreed to the new plan to ambush Henry, even drawing nearly a third of his 58 guards to participate in the ambush operation.

If he doesn't act, then nothing; if he acts, it must be fatal.

This was Sean's consistent creed.

Moreover, that Farm was originally one of the Sinclair Family's wings that had to be clipped in the subsequent plan.

However, things once again collapsed unexpectedly; this time, even half of his own guard force was sacrificed, including two of his own nephews.

It really hurts so much!

To be ambushed by a dozen sharpshooters! Could it be that the Sinclair Family figured out the situation so quickly and began to counterattack?

Although Sean was now depressed and bewildered, he still had to deal with the situation quickly to minimize losses as much as possible.

He immediately arranged for someone to send a telegram to the McKinley main branch in Denver, 84 miles away.

The Fresco Town telegraph office would not open for about 2 hours, so Sean didn't wait for the outcome of his communication with Brendan; he immediately dispatched 20 knights to accompany the 10 recently returned knights to the temporary camp to rendezvous with the 36 cavalrymen there, making a total of 66 cavalrymen.

Sean also arranged for two cowboys to check on Ronald's house—the greatest possibility was that a leak occurred there.

The 66 cavalrymen would return to the battlefield immediately after they converged to understand the situation behind them.

About an hour later, Henry finished searching the bodies.

In addition to wallets, pistols, and rifles, two Gatling Machine Guns were also stored in the space, and Henry also picked out three high-quality saddles.

Then, Henry casually rode a horse back to the top of the hill, switched back to his police horse, and galloped back to the town.

As for the 156 horses on the wilderness, he didn't bother with them at all.

After all, this cavalry force was only going to carry out a massacre mission, but they hadn't actually committed evil this time, and behind them was the powerful McKinley Family, so these warhorses were quite hot to handle.

As for the letter Sean wrote to Ronald, it had no signature, so it could not be used as evidence.

Moreover, their operation was completely cut short by Henry this time, making it even harder to prove.

Facing such deeply rooted large families, with their intricate relationships, one either directly eliminates them or pretends to know nothing.

Going to court with them is meaningless and unlikely to yield any favorable results for oneself; it would only expose oneself for nothing and easily invite an unstoppable backlash on the official level.

Additionally, he didn't want to be involved in the disappearance of Deputy Sheriff Ronald.

Henry changed into a brand new shirt, vest, tight breeches, and high boots in a suitable small grove by the roadside before continuing his journey back.

When he returned the police horse to the police station stable, it was just past seven in the morning.

Henry strode back to his house, quickly took a shower, and thoroughly removed the smell of gunpowder from his hair.

Then he walked back to a restaurant near the police station for a hearty breakfast.

No one knew that Henry had gone out early and returned, except for the sentry on the tall building at the town entrance and the stableman at the police station's stable.

Anyway, no one would question Henry in a short time, and even if they did, he would just play dumb.

America follows Commonwealth law; the accuser is responsible for providing evidence.

Collecting evidence of a Sheriff's crimes on his own territory?

Henry expressed his welcome—these were fresh materials for releasing, the more the better!

While enjoying his bacon sandwich and hot coffee, Henry focused on the progress bar.

The progress bar reached 47.3%.

This time, he killed 156 cavalrymen, many of whom were elites, and the McKinley Family would probably be heartbroken for a long time.

In fact, the smoothness of this operation was due to Henry's multi-pronged approach—surprise attacks, targeted elimination of major and minor commanders among the cavalry, and deliberate creation of chaos.

Even so, he was hit 5 times!

But they were all bounced off by the white bead shell.

Henry now had 2 green beads, 50 white beads, and 134 gray beads.

Among them, 2 green beads and 6 white beads had a skill aura flowing within them.

He calculated simply that he now effectively possessed 404 Tier 1 gray beads.

The plus sign on Constitution also lit up.

However, there was no need to rush; he was about to be sworn in as Sheriff, and Henry planned to improve his Constitution at noon.

Meanwhile, 66 cavalrymen returned to the battlefield, where they found that the ambushers had left, and the weapons and valuables on their fallen comrades had been plundered.

The warhorses were scattered across the wilderness, with twelve missing.

Two machine guns had disappeared.

After gathering the warhorses and the bodies of their comrades, the 66 cavalrymen returned to the temporary camp.

As for that Farm, with their current strength and mindset, they might not actually be able to attack it, so they could only temporarily give up.
