Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: This Is What Cultivation Means!

On the other side, at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy dormitory.

After lunch, while everyone digested their food, Qin Ming began explaining the team's daily training routine to Yang Yunhai.

The content wasn't complicated, so it didn't take long, and Yang Yunhai understood it clearly.

In short: mornings were for team training. This included physical drills, sparring with guidance, and theoretical lessons on soul masters and soul beasts. Afternoons were personal time—if you wanted to strengthen martial soul usage, you trained your martial soul; if you wanted to refine soul skills, you practiced soul skills; if you wanted to temper your body, you trained your body. If you had problems, you could ask Qin Ming for individual pointers.

Evenings were for cultivating soul power in your own rooms, an old tradition of the soul master world.

Tailoring instruction to each student, one-on-one if needed, but mostly depending on self-discipline—that was Yang Yunhai's impression of Qin Ming's teaching philosophy.

'No wonder, coming from Shrek Academy, his approach is deeply influenced,' Yang Yunhai thought.

But he couldn't help sighing inwardly.

Such a system in a place like the Heaven Dou Royal Academy would never truly tap into the full potential of its students.

Here, the students' living conditions were far too comfortable. Most of them thought "hard training" meant running ten laps around the training ground until their legs were sore, then spending a few hours cultivating soul power at night before calling it a productive day.

And that was only when they were in a good mood and motivated to train.

Without strict enforcement, relying solely on self-discipline, enthusiasm was like a passing cloud—it came and went as it pleased.

With such inconsistency, how good could their training results ever be?

Forget pushing limits, forget breaking through mental and physical barriers.

No wonder, in the original story, the Heaven Dou team was crushed by Shrek Academy, despite their overwhelming resources.

'Forget it, just focus on yourself first. Not to mention I just joined the team and don't have much influence yet—even if I did, I couldn't propose my training methods now. If I did, once Qin Ming goes to Shrek, they'd probably become Shrek's methods, or worse, passed off as Yu Xiaogang's. That would basically be handing your enemy weapons before the match. Can't have that. For now, I'll just train my own way.'

'Besides, afternoons are self-arranged anyway. That suits me perfectly.'

As he thought this, Qin Ming's voice rang out, "Alright, everyone's dismissed."

Then he turned toward Yu Feng. "Yu Feng, after lunch break, take Xiao Hai and Zhu Zhuqing to explore the academy's simulated environments, let them get familiar."

"Yes, Qin Ming teacher," Yu Feng nodded quickly.

"Then I'll trouble you, senior," Yang Yunhai said with a smile.

"No problem at all," Yu Feng grinned.

The group dispersed. Yang Yunhai and Zhu Zhuqing returned upstairs, heading down the hall to their rooms.

"Zhuqing, rest well," Yunhai said with a smile before turning to his own door.

"Yunhai," Zhu Zhuqing's clear voice suddenly came from behind.

"What is it?" he asked, turning back instinctively.

Her head was lowered slightly, her voice quiet. "That day… it was just an accident."

"But…" her tone dropped lower, "if not for you, I might have already gone to Shrek Academy. Maybe I would never have understood my sister's feelings. Maybe one day in the future, I would even become the one to hurt her."

"So… thank you."

For no reason, Yang Yunhai felt his chest lighten, like being forgiven after making a mistake he hadn't meant to. His lips curved into a smile, his tone softer. "No need to thank me. Go on, get some rest. We're checking the simulated environments this afternoon."

"Mm." Zhu Zhuqing nodded lightly, then turned and walked into her room.

Seeing that, Yang Yunhai also entered his.

Before long, there was a knock at the door. When he opened it, Qin Ming was standing there—the school uniforms had been delivered.

After thanking him, he returned inside, sat on the bed, and continued meditating. Since Nuoding Academy, most of his time had been devoted to cultivation. He had never developed a habit of napping. With his current physical recovery rate, he had no need for it anyway.

About half an hour later, he opened his eyes, went to the changing room, and put on the uniform.

His tall figure and refined bearing showed a noble temperament, though the pure white color didn't quite match his dark hair.

Shaking his head, he walked out, knocking on Zhu Zhuqing's door.

It opened, and there she stood in her uniform.

A slim, fitted design hugged her waist, with a high collar covering her chest, bare shoulders slightly revealed, gloves covering her arms. A short split skirt outlined her figure, and long stockings wrapped her legs.

It was clearly a uniform tailored for agility-type soul masters.

'As expected of the Heaven Dou Royal Academy, even their uniforms are designed for different martial souls,' Yunhai thought.

"This uniform looks really good on you. It suits you perfectly," he said with a smile.

"Mm. The fabric's good, very comfortable," Zhu Zhuqing replied, unusually talkative.

'Is it because of what she said at the door earlier? She seems… more open now,' Yunhai thought, a little surprised.

Outwardly, he just smiled. "Let's go."

The two went downstairs. On the sofa sat only Qin Ming—none of the others had arrived.

'See? Without enforcement, relying on self-discipline really does make people lax,' Yunhai sighed inwardly.

He stepped forward with Zhu Zhuqing. "Hello, teacher Qin Ming."

They sat.

After about fifteen minutes, the rest of the team gradually came down.

Once greetings were exchanged, Yu Feng led Yunhai and Zhu Zhuqing out of the dorms.

The Heaven Dou Royal Academy covered an enormous area, with nearly a hundred simulated environments scattered throughout. Of course, it was impossible to tour them all—that would waste too much time. The most efficient way was to state your needs and let Yu Feng guide you directly.

So, Zhu Zhuqing chose a small enclosed reserve filled with cat-type animals. Yang Yunhai, on the other hand, simply found a Blue Silver Grass grove not far away and went in.

He sat down on the grass and summoned his Blue Silver Grass.

"Alright, time to get familiar with the third soul skill. Once the elders set up a proper cultivation ground in the forest for me, I can move on to practicing lightning techniques and the advanced Blue Silver Grass skill—simulated weaving."

"After that, deeper levels of soul power simulation."

In his view, whether vines or lightning, all soul skills were simply different manifestations of soul power.

Blue Silver Grass could form vines, a spear, a dragon, armor, even wings—or threads of devouring gold.

And lightning—why couldn't it take the form of a thunder beast?

From basic shapes to higher evolutions, step by step, back to the origin.

One day, his soul skills would no longer be limited by form, but truly infinite, changing at will.

This, to him, was real cultivation.

Hunting soul beasts, absorbing rings, and passively accepting whatever skill came—that was nonsense.

For a soul master, wasn't soul power the root? Back when he read the original story, he never understood why soul masters cultivated the way they did.

'It's time this world saw what real imagination looks like,' he thought, beginning to activate his third skill, releasing parasitic spores.

"Mm… they can be placed on teammates, then grown into vine armor for defense. Or I can use teammates to get close to enemies, or let enemies approach, then ambush. If I can bind them, great; if not, I can still force them back."

"Either way, I must master the changes after parasitic spores sprout into Blue Silver Grass."

He guided spores onto his own body, channeling soul power to make them grow.

Time passed. Soon, vines covered his body, forming a twisted suit of vine armor.

Moments later, vines stretched further from his chest, back, and limbs, twisting into long tendrils like tentacles, writhing through the air as if each had its own mind.

From afar, the sight was eerie.
