Chapter 165 - Chapter 165: In the End, Still Crushed!

"???" The Blazing Academy team members were all stunned. One of them muttered instinctively, "A man-made weapon?"

"No, that's a Martial Soul!"

Their leading instructor's expression grew serious.

"Clear Sky Hammer!?" In the VIP seats, Emperor Xue Ye's expression changed as he looked toward Ning Fengzhi.

The latter gave a slight nod, his lips moving faintly.

'So he is Tang Hao's son… which meant that the man who stormed into Heaven Dou Royal Academy back then…' Emperor Xue Ye couldn't help but think of a possibility. His heart stirred violently. His gaze flicked briefly toward Salas's darkened face, then returned to the stage, watching Tang San and Yang Yunhai, falling into deep thought.

"Clear Sky Hammer? You have twin Martial Souls!" Yang Yunhai feigned surprise, then smiled faintly, raising the black spear in his hand.

"Tang San, come."

The goal was achieved. Time for the next step.

"As you wish!" Tang San's tone was calm. Behind him, the Eight Spider Lances sprang open as he stomped down with his foot.

"Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track!" His figure blurred like a phantom, right hand glowing with pale light as he zigzagged toward Yang Yunhai.

Then he saw it—Yang Yunhai's pupils gleamed gold.

'He's trained eye techniques too?' Tang San was startled, but his movements didn't stop. Borrowing the momentum, he twisted his waist sharply, bringing the Clear Sky Hammer into a sweeping arc with all his strength. Fierce wind roared toward Yang Yunhai—Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer!

'Too slow.' Gold light flowed in Yang Yunhai's eyes. He tapped his toes and drifted back lightly, avoiding the strike.

He was not like Feng Xiaotian, wasting stamina and soul power to take such attacks head-on.

A heartbeat later, his black spear lashed out. Tang San, still carried by the hammer's momentum, felt a sharp pain at his side.

The Clear Sky Hammer was heavy—ten times the weight of a normal forging hammer. Tang San could manage its weight by coordinating leg, arm, and waist strength. But when his body twisted into the sweep, the opposite side was left open. At that moment, it was nearly impossible to pull the hammer back fast enough.

Inertia was merciless.

Bang!

With a dull thud, Tang San was struck hard and sent flying.

Yang Yunhai's foot tapped, body surging forward. Behind him, the two vine-serpents shot out, their jaws opening wide.

"Damn!" Tang San clenched his teeth, forcing Mysterious Heaven Technique to work faster, barely twisting midair to land on his feet.

Too late to dodge. He thrust his Eight Spider Lances forward, aiming to pierce the incoming vine-serpents.

Puff, puff!

His lances stabbed into their mouths—only to be bitten and locked in place.

He hadn't expected that.

Before he could pull back, the serpents suddenly whipped upward. Tang San's body was yanked into the air.

Without footing, he slashed the remaining lances against their bodies. Sharp cracks rang out, but left no damage.

Even the corrosive poison from the Man-Faced Demon Spider was useless.

"Damn it!" Tang San's face flushed.

The Clear Sky Hammer had no chance to shine. Its weight was dragging him down instead.

The vine-serpents whipped their heads, slamming him into the ground.

Bang!

The impact was loud.

"Ugh!" Pain exploded across his back, blood spraying from his mouth.

"Is this your strength?" Yang Yunhai's voice came coldly. His spear lashed again, the serpents flinging Tang San back up. Yang Yunhai's figure followed close, spear chopping downward.

Tang San's face paled. He raised the Clear Sky Hammer desperately to block.

Bang!

The clang of metal rang out. Tang San was flung down again.

This time, his back slammed hard against stone.

Bang!

The floor cracked open.

"Ugh!" He coughed blood again.

"Tang San, back at Nuoding Academy, I once considered you a rival. But you've squandered your talent! Years have passed, yet in Martial Soul comprehension, you've made no progress! Your obsession with external tools has only held you back!" Yang Yunhai's voice was laced with disappointment.

"You can't even understand Blue Silver Grass fully. What's the use of another Martial Soul?"

"Your mastery of the Clear Sky Hammer is pathetic. You couldn't even take one strike."

"Tang San, you've let me down!"

The words carried the sting of hate iron for not becoming steel. Like a once-promising genius fallen far short of expectations—weak, unimpressive.

"Divided mind, nothing achieved. Did your teacher never tell you that?"

Yang Yunhai's tall figure loomed again, spear slashing down.

Tang San raised the hammer again, gritting through the pain.

Bang!

The strike crashed through his defense. He was blasted back, his hammer flying from his grip.

"One more thing. Your teacher once advised me to hunt Bamboo or Serpent beasts for my first soul ring." Yang Yunhai's voice carried across the arena. "But I refused. That would've stripped Blue Silver Grass of its plasticity and creativity."

"I suppose Tianheng told you of my abilities?"

"I thought you'd show me something today. But no—you've made no progress. You're pathetic!"

In the stands, Yu Xiaogang and Yu Tianheng both turned pale.

Far off, Tang Hao's brows furrowed deeply.

'Striking at the heart. This boy truly carries Dugu Bo's ruthlessness,' Ning Fengzhi thought, eyes flashing.

"It almost feels like Tang San's been ruined by his teacher," Shui Yue'er whispered in Skywater Academy's section. "With his talent, if his skills synergized like Yang Yunhai's, he wouldn't be this bad."

Shui Wu said softly, "Soul skills are only part of it. The real gap is comprehension. Yang Yunhai's mastery of Blue Silver Grass is miles ahead. Even with the same conditions, Tang San couldn't reach this level."

"True," Shui Yue'er nodded.

"Yu Tianheng even brought Shrek all of Yang Yunhai's ability info. Yet Tang San didn't learn a single one. Couldn't even copy."

Other teams discussed in the same way.

Two Blue Silver Grass users—but the difference on stage was like heaven and earth.

Yang Yunhai hadn't even used his second, third, or fourth skills. Only the first, Extension, empowered through his mastery. Tang San swung once and was caught immediately, then controlled and beaten without resistance.

"Who's his teacher anyway? Feels like he ruined him! Look at Yang Yunhai—his Blue Silver Grass is like a weapon. Tang San? He gave up halfway to use the Clear Sky Hammer, with no rings. And still got crushed."

"In the end, still crushed!"

"In the end, strength depends on the person. That's the truth."

The audience's chatter grew, but their eyes never left the stage.

Step, step.

Yang Yunhai's golden pupils faded back to black. He strode forward, the vine-serpents snapping onto Tang San's shoulders and dragging him up.

"Ahh!" A scream tore out, fragments of Eight Spider Lances falling from Tang San's hands.

"Trying to pull the same trick from the Arena, sneaking me with poisoned shards? Hmph!" Yang Yunhai sneered.

'Did you think my 24K golden vision was fake?'

He'd seen Tang San pocket the fragments long ago.

Tang San's teeth gnashed. His eyes burned with hatred.

"Hmph, vile!" Within his soul bone, Yiner's voice trembled with anger.

"Tang San, still not admitting defeat?" Yang Yunhai frowned, soul power flaring. His serpents bit harder.

"Ahhh!" Tang San screamed as his soul power drained, his face turning pale.

'So it is true… the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline…' Yang Yunhai's eyes gleamed coldly. 'If you reveal it, I'll take it. Tang San, your bloodline—mine now.'

Along with what his vision revealed: the Mysterious Jade Hand, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and Mysterious Heaven Technique's flows. Whether he used them or not—better to take than leave.

This battle had been rich in harvests.

"Referee, we admit defeat!" Qin Ming's urgent shout came suddenly.

But it was too late… Yang Yunhai gave no reply. He simply released the serpents, letting Tang San's limp body crash to the ground.

He dispersed the vines and spear, then turned away without hesitation, walking calmly toward the tunnel.

"First round of the qualifiers, Heaven Dou Royal Academy wins!" the referee declared.

"Heaven Dou Royal Academy, amazing!"

The audience erupted in thunderous cheers.
