Chapter 336 - Chapter 336: Sisters Who Became Gods

"In any case, the Sea God won't let Senior Bo Saixi suffer any loss." Yang Yunhai smiled.

Sea Dragon Douluo nodded, his eyes firming. "Since that is so, let us remain here to welcome the Sea God's descent, and pray for Senior Bo Saixi's blessing."

He dropped to one knee, crossing his hands over his chest, closing his eyes in reverence.

The other holy pillar guardians followed suit.

Yang Yunhai, not being a native of Sea God Island, did not need to kneel. He simply took Zhu Zhuqing's hand and stood quietly by her side, waiting.

A short while later, the grand doors of the Sea God Temple opened. Bo Saixi's voice floated out. "Xiao Hai, Zhuqing, you two may enter."

'Just like in the original trial, companions may enter too.' Yang Yunhai turned toward Zhu Zhuqing, gave a slight nod, and led her into the temple.

"Greetings, Senior Bo Saixi." Both bowed respectfully.

Bo Saixi returned the nod, her gaze shifting to Dugu Yan. "Dugu Yan, are you ready?" she asked with a gentle smile.

"Yes, Senior Bo Saixi." Dugu Yan's eyes shone with determination.

Bo Saixi's expression grew solemn. "The Sea God is the deity who commands the boundless ocean…"

After a series of ceremonial questions and answers, Bo Saixi's lips curved in satisfaction. She raised her scepter and touched the glowing imprint on Dugu Yan's brow. "The glory of the Sea God shall be carried on through you."

At her words, dazzling golden light erupted.

"Sea God's Nine Trials, ninth trial: Inheritance of the Sea God—begin!" A deep, ancient voice resounded in Dugu Yan's mind.

Bo Saixi lifted her scepter high. A golden beam of light pierced the temple's dome.

In the next instant, a vast array flared beneath their feet, golden radiance flooding the hall. A towering golden phantom shimmered behind Bo Saixi.

"The Sacred Gate shall now open…" Her voice rose in solemn proclamation.

Then, her scepter shattered into motes of light. At the same time, the nine soul rings beneath her dissolved into golden flame. Fire blazed around her body and Dugu Yan's.

"Senior Bo Saixi, what are you—!" Dugu Yan's voice trembled, but her body was bound by divine power, unable to move.

"Child, don't grieve. This is my mission." Bo Saixi's face carried only a serene smile.

After her final words of encouragement, her figure grew translucent, fading.

"Senior Bo Saixi," Yang Yunhai suddenly spoke up, "I think Grandfather Qian Daoliu would be quite pleased. Perhaps… you'll see him again soon."

Bo Saixi froze, turned her gaze toward Yang Yunhai—then her form finally dissolved into light. A massive crimson-gold door of divine flame opened in the air.

"Go on, Yan'er," Yang Yunhai urged softly. "Don't worry. Senior Bo Saixi has not died. You'll meet again in the God Realm."

She trusted him completely. With a nod, Dugu Yan strode boldly into the portal.

Time trickled by.

In the God Realm, a silver insect murmured, "This seven-emotion trial was way too smooth."

"What can you do? She married well, no hardships, no torment." The Sea God shrugged, already back in his palace.

Within his divine sense, Dugu Yan's torso bone had merged seamlessly with the others, transformed into a suit of radiant blue-gold dragon scale armor. The spirits of her soul beasts had all evolved—Tianmeng Iceworm and the Deep Sea Demon Whale King rising with her as divine souls. Even the Thousand Ton Ant Emperor was only a step away, and in time, with her constant divine baptism, it too would ascend.

Her spirit rings flared one after another, colors shifting dramatically: five crimson, one brilliant gold, then red, red, violet-gold, and at the very peak—blue-gold. Ten rings in perfect harmony.

At that moment, the Sea God felt a sudden release, as though shackles had fallen away.

"Done!" His grin spread wide.

The silver-robed youth beside him only curled his lip in silence.

Moments later, Dugu Yan opened her eyes. Smiling, she lifted the Sea God's Trident, stepping out from the inheritance space. When she reappeared, she stood proudly in the Sea God Temple.

"You look… striking." Yang Yunhai's eyes gleamed, giving her an appreciative once-over. "Even more beautiful than before."

"Hmph, lucky you." Dugu Yan teased as she floated toward him.

"Congratulations, Sister Yan," Zhu Zhuqing said softly.

"All thanks to Yun—I only rode the tailwind." Dugu Yan's tone softened.

"You should really thank Grandfather Dugu for that too," Zhu Zhuqing quipped, rare humor in her voice.

"You! Zhuqing, you've learned mischief now?" Dugu Yan sputtered, cheeks flushing.

"Alright, Yan'er, Zhuqing," Yang Yunhai chuckled. "Let's head out. The seniors are still waiting."

The two girls exchanged a glance, smiles tugging at their lips, then nodded. Dugu Yan led the way to the great doors.

Creaaaak—the doors opened, and she strode out.

"Greetings, Sea God!" The seven holy pillar guardians bowed deeply.

"Rise, seniors." Dugu Yan smiled, lifting the Sea God's Trident. A wave of blue-gold divine power burst forth, making the seas around Sea God Island roar.

Every sea soul beast surfaced, bowing their heads slightly—including Xiao Bai of the Devil Soul Great White Sharks.

When the announcement was complete, light rippled across Dugu Yan's body. The armor faded, the trident dissolved into her divine mark.

She now stood revealed—a young maiden with long flowing blue hair, sapphire eyes, and a curvaceous figure radiating divine charm.

At that moment, a silver pillar of light descended, coalescing into the phantom of the silver-robed youth. He nodded once to Dugu Yan—then flickered. In the blink of an eye, a silver ray shot forward, piercing space itself, and embedded into Zhu Zhuqing's brow.

"???" The guardians gawked, dumbfounded.

"?" Dugu Yan blinked, stunned. She turned to Zhu Zhuqing.

"A divine inheritance…?" Yang Yunhai's eyes gleamed, smiling knowingly.

The surprise faded from Zhu Zhuqing's gaze. She nodded slightly. "The God of Space. I must reach rank 99 before the inheritance can begin."

'A pillow when drowsy? Perfect.' Yang Yunhai's heart leapt in joy, though his face only showed a calm nod.

"Zhuqing, congratulations." Dugu Yan grinned.

"…That really works!?" The guardians exchanged bewildered looks.

Dugu Yan then slid her arm through Yang Yunhai's and sauntered down the steps. Glancing at Sea Witch Douluo, she smirked playfully. "Senior Sea Witch, regret it now? You missed your chance to become a god's sister."

The male guardians all winced, speechless.

Sea Witch Douluo flushed under the bold teasing. Her eyes flickered toward Yang Yunhai. Then, with a sudden spark of mischief, she said coyly, "Well… being a concubine isn't impossible. I could help discipline little Yan'er… spank her if she misbehaves."

"Cough!" Sea Dragon Douluo nearly choked, the other guardians staring in shock.

'Did she just—? What kind of wild words are those!?'

"…!" Dugu Yan's jaw dropped.

Even Yang Yunhai was startled, clearing his throat hastily. "Seniors, since Yan'er has successfully inherited the godhood, we should take our leave. Please look after Sea God Island while she's away."

"Of course." Sea Dragon Douluo bowed solemnly.

Yang Yunhai gave a polite clasp of his hands. "Then we'll trouble you seniors for now."

With that, he glanced at the two women. They nodded, and together they soared into the sky, heading toward the shore. Soon, they reached Xiao Bai's waters.

"Xiao Bai, come out! I'm riding you today!" Dugu Yan shouted boldly.

Splash!

Xiao Bai surfaced, eyes wide. "Yan'er, you've changed. Becoming the Sea God has made you arrogant."

"I admit I'm a little arrogant now." Dugu Yan laughed. "But I just became a god—let me enjoy it for once." She leapt onto Xiao Bai's back. "Come, take us to the Demon Whale Sea."

Splash!

With a sweep of her tail, Xiao Bai sped forward with them on her back.

Before long, they reached the Demon Whale Sea. Dugu Yan released the soul of the Deep Sea Demon Whale King. "Go, see your family."

"You've only just stabilized as a divine soul. Don't linger long. You must return with us soon," she reminded.

The great whale bowed his head. Using the ocean's water elements, he shaped a body and dove deep to reunite with his kin.

After some time, he returned to her spiritual sea.

The group departed once more, heading back toward the continent.

Days later, after bidding Xiao Bai farewell, they returned to Yunhai Academy.

That night, Dugu Bo drank merrily, tears shining in his eyes. "As expected of my granddaughter!"

Yang Yunhai drank deeply too, though by the end of the night his waist ached.

The next day, life resumed: cultivation, teaching, and guiding the children brought to Yunhai Academy under the guise of "early education."

Day by day, their lives pressed forward.
