Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: The Trembling Mother Box

After the female guard packed up and left the small dark room, Xinian lay alone on the relatively clean bed, tightly clutching his aunt's star-lit flying crown in his arms, the flickering and cold firelight shining on him.

Of course, it was impossible to return the crown. After all, returning it would be an insult to Aunt Diana.

However, this crown is too heavy.

In every aspect, it is the most precious thing in the world and cannot be measured by value.

"Can I bear it?"

Xinian lay on the bed for a long time, finally sighed, put the crown back on his head, stood up and walked out of the room.

Even if he didn't have claustrophobia, it was too stuffy in here and he wanted to go out and get some fresh air.

However, when Xinian was halfway to the door, he recalled that the female general Antiope had ordered the female guards at the door not to let him walk around.

Now, he could fully understand why Antiope treated him so badly.

If anyone were to take advantage of Aunt Diana, Xi Nian's attitude would definitely be a hundred times worse! And if he knew in advance the significance behind the crown held by his aunt, Xi Nian would never let her wear it on his head!

If His Highness forced himself to go out for a walk, the female guard would not dare to stop him, but Xinian did not want to make things difficult for the female guard, so he turned back in the corridor.

Back to the door of my room.

Xi Nian suddenly stopped and looked into the depths of the corridor inside the ancient building. There was some light at the end, and a subtle breeze came through the dark corridor.

Since you're not allowed to walk around outside, it's okay to walk around inside, right?

Xi Nian shrugged.

Besides, the female guard just said that as long as the items inside are not taken out, there will be no problem.

Xi Nian didn't think too much about it and continued to walk deeper into the ancient building without stopping.

"This wall is really thick..." The further Xi Nian walked into the corridor, the more surprised he felt.

This ancient circular building has almost no other rooms except the dark room he was on duty in. It is all made of solid brick walls, with only a not very spacious corridor leading to the interior.

Can you imagine?

From the design style point of view, this circular building is like a closed Poké Ball. As long as the corridor is closed, no one can get out.

"Perhaps, only the three-in-one state can force its way out when trapped inside..." Xinian pondered for a moment, and suddenly remembered the Yuan-devouring Beast. My aunt said it was not convenient to bring it to Paradise Island, so she entrusted it to a friend who had experience in raising pets to take care of it for a few days.

That friend seems to be called "Barry Allen"?

Xi Nian quickly arrived at the deepest part of the building. The moment he walked out of the corridor, the scene before him became clear!

Inside is a very spacious retro hall.

The hall was surrounded by bizarre stone carvings and ancient Greek inscriptions, seemingly chronicling a long, unknown history of the ancient gods. Light, a cool breeze, and air seeped in through the gaps in the star-shaped metal railings on the hall's rooftop. Faint beams of light, barely discernible, shone down, delicately landing on the stone altar in the center of the ancient building's main hall.

Above the two-meter-high stone altar, there is a mysterious cube-shaped object that looks like a rusty metal box.

I don't know how long the iron box has been placed here. The faint light, the dust, and even the years have all been quietly sinking beside it.

"This is the thing that has been guarded for more than a thousand years?" Xi Nian was stunned for a moment.

He finally understood why no one had been able to touch it for thousands of years.

Not to mention that Paradise Island has its own Zeus barrier and is guarded by Amazons on duty, just for its pitiful appearance -

Who wants this broken box?

Of course, maybe it is a hidden artifact.

Xi Nian didn't intend to study it. He stood in front of the stone altar and began to do the chest-lifting exercise that middle school students did.

He took a deep breath, and the air in the deepest part of the main hall was connected to the outside world. Xi Nian suddenly felt a lot more comfortable.

But, suddenly!

He seemed to see something out of the corner of his eye.

Xi Nian stopped and looked at the iron box on top of the stone altar in surprise.

Just now.

Did that thing move?

Paradise Island, Amazon Palace.

The interior of the palace is magnificent and golden. Any decoration inside, including the golden chairs and beaded curtains that are still in use, would be a sought-after collection by collectors if placed outside.

"Mother." Diana walked into the palace and squatted on a chair.

On the golden chair, a dignified woman who looked somewhat like Diana, with a youthful face and body, and wore a golden crown - Hippolyta, the Queen of the Amazons, could not help but reveal an excited and genuine smile.

Hippolyta reached forward and gently touched Diana's face with her palm: "Child, you have suffered out there alone."

"No." Diana shook her head gently and grabbed her mother's hand and said, "Mother, I'm fine and can take care of myself."

"Of course I know. After all, you are the only daughter of my Amazon Queen!" Hippolyta smiled and nodded, then suddenly paused and looked at Diana's forehead: "Diana, your Starlight Crown?"

"Mother, I was just about to tell you this. I didn't come back alone this time."

Diana smiled happily and said seriously and proudly, "I gave it to a person, a human being!"

Ancient building, inside the main hall.

Xinian looked at the iron box in a daze. Didn't the female guard just say that this thing hadn't been touched for a thousand years?

Why, he just saw the iron box shake slightly? !

Are you dazzled? Did you see it wrong?

This possibility cannot be ruled out.

Xi Nian just took a glimpse of it out of the corner of his eye, and it was very likely that the interference of light and shadow made him mistakenly think that the box moved.

Just to confirm.

Xi Nian held his breath and approached the stone altar.

When he got closer than three meters, Xi Nian could see more clearly that the iron box on the stone altar had strange patterns on it, like stars and the sun, and a very thick layer of dust had accumulated on the surface of the box.

The beams of light from the dome of the building bathed him.

Xi Nian subconsciously reached out to the iron box on the stone altar, trying to wipe off the dust on the surface of the box.

Fingers, getting closer little by little.

Just before his fingertips were about to touch the box, Xi Nian quickly withdrew his hand.

No matter what you are doing, it is not a good habit to touch other people's things!

but.

Looking at the dust on the box, Xinian confirmed that he had indeed seen it wrong just now - if the box was really shaken, some of the dust on it would definitely be shaken off.

"Forget it, let's go back."

Xi Nian gave up exploring the broken box and turned to walk out of the main hall of the building.

Xi Nian didn't notice.

Just as he walked out of the main hall and entered the corridor.

The iron box placed on the stone altar trembled slightly several times, shaking off a lot of dust. Before the dust settled, it mysteriously disappeared into the space within the hall.

The box seemed to be trembling with its own life!

As if afraid or terrified of something.

And this tremor soon fell back into the calmness that had lasted for thousands of years.

It continues to lie dormant, waiting for an opportunity!
