Chapter 158 Luffy's Death
At the bottom of the pit, Luffy in Dark Nikah form had completely collapsed.
His body was shriveled like a dead tree, its rubbery properties had completely disappeared, his skin was cracked with countless bloodstains, and the dark lines dissipated like the tide.
The eyes that once reflected countless distorted silhouettes were now filled with only empty darkness.
"Imu..."
He murmured hoarsely, his voice as weak as a candle in the wind.
Rogge stood before him, his body covered in blood, his right arm shattered from excessive use of Haki, but his eyes remained as cold as steel.
Rogge slowly raised his head and looked towards the sky.
His gaze seemed to penetrate the clouds, cross the Red Line, and reach the void throne in the deepest part of Mariejois.
"You want to stop me too?"
In the void, a voice that only he could hear came slowly -
"It's an interesting twist of fate."
"Eight hundred years... the first person to dare to kill a god."
Rogge scoffed, his voice hoarse and metallic from the blood foam in his throat. "What? Are you here to avenge your toy?"
The voice in the void was playful: "Toys? No... I'm just curious."
Yim's voice was light and ethereal, yet it carried unquestionable majesty.
"Do you really think that killing him will change everything?"
Rogge sneered, with a sarcastic arc at the corner of his mouth:
"It is because you rigidly adhere to so-called 'fate' that eight hundred years of tragedy have occurred!"
"History keeps repeating itself, yet you only look down from your high position, watching the world rot in its cycle like a play!"
"In the end, even he himself rotted on that so-called throne!"
The void was silent for a moment, and Yim's voice rarely showed a trace of fluctuation:
"You're...interesting."
"Then let me see how far your 'justice' can go."
As soon as the words fell, the pressure that spanned thousands of miles quietly dissipated.
Rogge lowered his head and looked at the dying Luffy.
"I'm not like some stupid dragon..."
"And you'll get to do sit-ups."
He slowly raised his right hand, and the power of the air fruit was activated, and the air pressure in the entire deep pit suddenly collapsed!
Luffy's shriveled body was squeezed by an invisible force, and his bones cracked under the weight.
"Air Pressure, End."
"Bang--!!"
As the terrifying air pressure in his palm collapsed, Luffy's withered body began to shatter piece by piece from the ends of his limbs.
The flying fragments did not fall to the ground, but were compressed into particles invisible to the naked eye in mid-air.
When the last piece of heart disappeared, the entire pit suddenly fell into absolute silence - even the wind stopped.
The flesh and blood exploded, and Nika, with the help of Luffy, the reincarnation of the fruit, was completely annihilated into nothingness!
The aftermath of the battle finally subsided, and the shattered arena turned into a scorched earth. Enel's lightning cut through the smoke and dust, and rushed to the center of the deep pit with Ion.
When they arrived, Rogge was standing at the place where Luffy was annihilated, his body covered in blood, and the outline of his muscular body was faintly visible under his torn military uniform.
"Roye Admiral!"
Ian immediately stepped forward, the power of the Reversal Fruit flowing through his palm, trying to heal him.
Rogge waved his hand calmly, his voice low but steady: "No need, most of the blood isn't mine."
But Ian still stubbornly reached out his hand, his fingertips lightly touching his chest. The force of retreat brushed past, and the bloodline receded like a tide, revealing the angular muscle lines underneath.
She was slightly startled, and her cheeks flushed unconsciously.
"puff..."
Enel was trying to hold back his laughter, and the lightning on the golden stick was shaking.
Rogge glanced at him with a raised eyebrow, and Enel immediately coughed and looked up at the sky in a serious manner.
Fujitora's gravity field slowly dissipated, and he arrived with King Riku, Kyrus, Rebecca, and the others.
"Roye Admiral!"
Fujitora said gravely, "The battle... is over?"
Rogge nodded slightly, his eyes sweeping over the crowd: "Ah, it's over."
Ion was quick-witted and grabbed Enel's cloak, wrapping it around Rogge without saying a word, covering his torn shirt.
Enel's mouth twitched: "Hey, that's my—"
"It's the Admiral's now!" Ian glared at him.
King Riku gazed at the horrific traces left in the pit, his voice trembling. "Is this really... a battle between humans?"
Cyrus gripped the hilt of his sword, his leg trembling slightly. "Even the earth has been pierced..."
Rebecca hid behind her father, her face pale, but a complex light flickered in her eyes: "Is the guy in the straw hat really dead?"
Rogge didn't answer. Instead, he looked toward the rising sun in the distance and said calmly, "Dressrosa's nightmare ends here."
Fujitora was silent for a moment, then suddenly said, "Admiral Rogge, next..."
Rogge interrupted him: "Let's clean up the mess first. Arrange for the Marines to clean up the battlefield!"
He turned and walked out of the ruins, his cloak fluttering in the morning breeze.
"Notify Naval Headquarters. All members of the Straw Hat Pirates are to be executed."
"Dressrosa... is freed!"
Holy Land Mariejois, seat of the Knights of God.
Inside the heavy obsidian door, Shanks suddenly woke up from his sickbed!
"Ugh—!!"
His one arm gripped his head tightly, as if trying to dig out those torn memories.
Lem Jones's roar, Punch's wild laughter, Lucky Lu's honesty... and Beckman's final hoarse "survive" -
"Beckman...!!"
Shanks punched the bed, and the black steel bed frame specially made by the Holy Land was shattered by this punch!
His pupils contracted violently, Conqueror's Haki erupted uncontrollably, the candles in the room went out instantly, and the paintings on the wall cracked.
"G5...Zephyr...Rat...!!"
Impotent rage!
He had never hated his own powerlessness so much!
Just as Shanks was about to tear off the bandages and stand up—
"Click."
The door was pushed open.
Ancient Saint Fegalando Green walked in slowly, the family crest on his cloak gleaming coldly in the candlelight.
He looked down at Shanks, a smile on his lips.
"You're quite energetic... kid."
Shanks looked up suddenly, the anger in his eyes almost tangible: "Old Saint Green...!"
"You saved me just to see a stray dog barking?!"
The Ancient Saint Green snorted coldly, flicked his fingertips, and an invisible Haki pushed Shanks back onto the bed.
"Watch your words, Shanks!"
"You are still breathing because the blood in your body... flows with the glory of Celestial Dragons!"
Shanks gritted his teeth, the veins on his one arm bulged, but he was unable to break free from the suppression.
Ancient Saint Green walked to the window, looked at the eternal starry sky of Mariejois, and said lightly:
"Those crew members of yours...didn't die unjustly."
"G5 dispatched the Phoenix Zephyr, Leit, Bullet, Shiryu, Aramaki, and other combat forces..."
"Oh, and that Seraph Garp."
Shanks's fists clenched tighter with each name he read.
But the next words of Ancient Saint Green made him feel like he was falling into an icy cave—
"As for that brat you're eyeing... Monkey D. Luffy."
"He's awakened."
Shanks' pupils constricted. "What did you say...?"
Ancient Saint Green turned around, his eyes cold:
"Nika Fruit."
"He became the sun god."
"Then--"
"Beaten to pieces by Rogge himself."
The room fell into dead silence.
Shanks's expression froze.
Luffy... is dead?
The Straw Hat Kid who always wanted to be the King of Pirates... the future he had staked everything on at East Blue...
Killed...by Rogge?
Ancient Saint Green observed his reaction and suddenly sneered:
"What? Are you desperate already?"
"Is this the limit of the Feigaland family's talent?"
Shanks looked up slowly, the anger in his eyes gone, replaced by something deeper and colder.
"Ancient Saint Green."
His voice was too hoarse to be alive.
"I need strength!"
Ancient Saint Green narrowed his eyes.
"Finally, it's starting to look a bit better..."
He turned and walked towards the door, his cloak sweeping across the ground, leaving behind a cold word:
"Want power? Then come and get it—"
"Exchange your life for it!"
