Chapter 39 - 39: The Assassin

It was night time and the villa was quiet, save for the ticking of the grand clock in one of the rooms.

Chairman Seo Woobin sat behind his mahogany desk in his private study, his cold eyes fixed on the man sprawled on the floor before him. He had deliberately waited until nighttime to deal with him, because if time had taught the Chairman anything, it was that it was best to wait until late to deal with a culprit. Because by then, the guilt and fear would have fermented into a scent like pure wine.

And he would take his precious time in lapping up every single drop.

The would-be assassin was muscular, probably mid-thirties, with the kind of build that suggested he had undergone military training. But right now he looked far from intimidating.

Very far from it.

His face was bloodied and swollen from the beating he had received when they had captured him.
