Chapter 25 - Neon Eyes in a Blood Pool

Inside a massive Olympic swimming pool.

Diego sits in the back rows, confused. Thinking: "Deadly fights between criminals…? Damn. So there's serious corruption here. Yeah. This isn't what I'm looking for."

Suddenly, guards drag in three prisoners, chained together.

All muscle.

All wearing orange prison jumpsuits.

One is a bald Black man.

One is covered head to toe in tattoos.

The third is white, clearly of Russian origin.

The guards unlock the chains binding them together and force them down into the empty pool.

The place erupts with noise. The crowd roars.

Victor Morelli lounges in his luxury chair, stuffing his mouth with sweets.

He suddenly stops chewing.

"There he is… my boy," he murmurs.

Five guards enter, surrounding a man They restrain him using metal poles connected to a collar locked around his neck.

They move slowly. Carefully.

His face is pale.

His eyes are half-closed.

He walks like someone dragged out of sleep.

Diego thinks:

"Why this much caution… for one guy?!"

The crowd's chanting grows louder.

"SOYO! SOYO! SOYO!"

Diego squints from afar.

"Who is he? Why are they chanting his name? …He looks exhausted. Weak. No way he survives against all three."

The five guards guide him to the pool's edge. At the same instant, they press their controls.

Click.

The poles detach from the collar. They shove him forward.

He crashes face-first onto the concrete floor of the pool.

The three prisoners glance at each other. We're fighting this loser?

Soyo lies motionless, stomach to the ground.

Victor Morelli's voice booms through the loudspeaker as the bell rings.

"LET THE FIIIIIGHT BEGIN!"

The three prisoners approach, laughing, mocking him.

Then—

Soyo's eyes snap open.

He struggles to rise, clearly drained.

The prisoners hesitate.

The Black inmate scoffs: "He's weak. He can't fight."

The tattooed one grins: "Come on. Let's play with him."

He laughs.

They move in as Soyo fights to keep his balance. One of them kicks him hard in the chest.

Soyo slams back onto the floor.

They laugh. Loud. Cruel. The white inmate smirks: "Let's turn him into a punching bag."

They rush him again. Two of them grab his legs. The white inmate rained a barrage of punches on Soyo—then followed with a brutal kick to the stomach.

Soyo slips from their grip and collapses.

Victor Morelli froze mid-bite, then spat out his food in fury.

'What the hell is he doing?! He's going to get himself killed!'

He shouts into the mic.

"SOYO, YOU'LL DIE LIKE THIS!

START FIGHTING, YOU BASTARD!"

From the back rows, Diego watches silently.

"Poor guy… He can't fight anymore. He must've burned through everything in nonstop matches without rest."

Soyo staggers to his feet, battered.

The three surround him, closing in slowly, laughing like kids playing a game.

Victor Morelli yells:

"SOYO, WAKE UP!"

Soyo shoots him a sharp glance—

like a hawk locking onto prey.

His irises suddenly change. They ignite into neon cyan blue.

The tattooed inmate screams and leaps, aiming a kick at Soyo—

But Soyo reacts instantly. Perfect timing. Like he read his mind.

He steps aside—just one step.

The tattooed man crashes into the barbed wires embedded with shattered glass lining the pool floor.

Soyo stands still silent

Facing the remaining two. Behind him, the third inmate screams in agony. Jagged glass shards pierce his body in multiple places.

Without turning around—

Soyo launches a back kick straight into the tattooed man's head. A shard of glass drives through his skull.

The screaming stops.

Dead.

Soyo starts walking forward.

Heavy steps.

Victor Morelli watches with blazing excitement.

"That's my boy!"

Diego's eyes widen.

He pulls out his phone and starts recording: "He's a mutant…! His eyes changed—glowing! That reaction speed wasn't human!"

Victor Morelli snaps at the guards.

"Throw them some weapons."

Then, under his breath: "So he doesn't kill them too fast."

Weapons clatter into the pool. Each remaining prisoner rushes for one.

The Black inmate grabs a sword. The other picks up twin batons tipped with blade-like edges.

Soyo advances slowly. Hands in his pockets. Calm. Confident.

His eyes glow neon cyan. Not human eyes anymore. To him, the world is tinted deep blue.

His enemies appear as moving nervous systems— every nerve glowing, clear as daylight.

They attack together.Batons swing.

Sword slashes.

Soyo sees every reaction path. He dodges effortlessly.

The swordsman swings downward—

Soyo catches his wrist with one hand. The other hand stays in his pocket. He twists with expert combat technique.

The man spins and slams onto his back.

Now—The sword is in Soyo's hand.

The other inmate charges with the batons.

Soyo tosses the sword aside.

Dodges again. Side strike. Another from the opposite angle. Then a double strike from both sides.

Soyo steps back—Then surges forward in a flash. His opponent's strikes hit nothing but air.

Soyo delivers one precise blow to a critical nerve cluster. Instant paralysis.

The Black inmate charges next—now wielding a massive hammer. Soyo shifts sideways like a conscious war machine.

The hammer crashes into the ground.

In the same breath—Soyo lands a perfect, electricity-charged strike straight to the man's heart.

Every nerve around it is destroyed. Blood erupts from the man's mouth.

Diego records everything.

His face frozen in shock.

Two dead.

One paralyzed.

Soyo's eyes fade back to normal. His remaining electrical energy is gone.

The paralyzed inmate regains consciousness. A sword lies near him.

He grabs it and swings wildly at Soyo.

Soyo answers with a straight kick to the knee.

A sickening crack.

The left leg shatters.

Pure karate skill.

Absolute muscular control.

The crowd roars, starving for blood.

Soyo lifts the hammer. Raises it toward the man's head. The prisoner stares at him in pure terror. Breathing breaks apart.

Then—Soyo screams:

"NO MORE KILLING!!!"

He collapses to his knees. Completely drained.

Victor Morelli stood, clapping furiously. Laughing. All he could see was the money he'd won from gambling.

A guard leans in and whispers:

"He's completely exhausted. Too many consecutive fights. He needs rest."

Victor nods.

"Yes. Get him out. Quickly.

He earned his reward. Let him rest for a few days."

The guards haul Soyo out unconscious.

They wrap him in heavy chains and take him away.

From afar, Diego watches.

Thinking.

"I have to free this mutant. He's suffering under their control. Damn it… These bastards treat mutants like toys and destroy them through the media."

Diego stands and heads for the exit.

A guard blocks him.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Diego answers calmly.

"Bathroom."

The guard points.

"Turn at the end of that corner. You'll find it there."

Diego walks off—Then changes direction.

He hides.

Watches as the guards load Soyo into an armored vehicle.

Diego thought fast. Before the vehicle could move, he yanked his smartwatch from his wrist, darted forward from his hiding spot, and quickly attached it to one of the pipes at the back of the armored car.

Then he returns inside.

After Victor Morelli wrapped up the event, people began leaving. Diego slipped out, boarded a bus, and headed back to his hotel.

Once there—He opens his laptop.

Uploads every video he recorded.

Using fake accounts. Exposing the corruption to the world.

And that's how Almy discovered it—thanks to her superhuman hacking abilities.

"Do you think Soyo will remain under Victor's evil control, or will Diego succeed in freeing him? ⚡And how do you think he'll face the nucleus Alliance when he finally appears? 🕵🏽
