"Lin Li, you better memorize every street and every intersection. I never want you in my passenger seat again."
Cisco said angrily while driving, his mood terrible. He swore he never wanted Lin Li in his passenger seat again.
Lin Li, with question marks in his head, said, "Okay, but can I ask why?"
"In my entire life, no one who's ridden in my car has constantly told me to speed up, no one has constantly told me to run red lights? And even more so, no one has constantly yelled 'GOGOGO' in my ear! I've had enough! You're like a fly, rushing me to eat shit. Next time, you can run like Barry!"
Cisco was so furious that he blurted out the word 'shit,' which shows how irritated he was.
Lin Li helplessly said, "I was just worried about Barry's life. Don't worry, there won't be a next time."
Cisco and Lin Li were like police in a movie, always arriving at the scene after everything had already happened.
Upon arriving at the scene, they saw a large area of forest destroyed, trees broken, and uprooted, as if a Category 16 typhoon had hit. Deep craters were plowed into the ground.
Both of them exclaimed in unison, "Oh, my God."
Among the many affected by the dark matter waves generated by the particle accelerator explosion, the Weather Wizard's destructive power could be considered among the top few.
Of course, in terms of destructive power, the first is definitely Barry's BUG Speed Force; running back in time can even change the world for you, you can't help but be convinced.
The most magical, novel, fun, interesting, and exhilarating ability belongs to Cisco's Vibe, with various parallel world crossings—this is truly an ability that can make one a god.
As for Lin Li's lightning, hehe…
"You guys are too slow; it's already over," Joe complained when he saw Cisco and Lin Li arrive.
"Joe, you should have notified me to come with you earlier. Dealing with a metahuman like Marden leaves no room for error," Lin Li said, walking over to Eddie's side.
He and Caitlin had thoroughly researched the human body, making him half a doctor, capable of performing first aid. He understood Eddie's current injuries; fortunately, Eddie only had multiple fractures. Although he was spitting blood, it was only a slight organ displacement, and the impact wasn't very strong. If it had been concrete, Eddie might have died. Lin Li helped Eddie with some treatment, and the rest could wait for the ambulance. Eddie was fine.
Joe said very apologetically, "I'm very sorry, truly. This time it was my mistake, my carelessness. Without Barry's arrival, the consequences would have made me regret it for the rest of my life."
Cisco tilted his head, making a gun shape with his fingers and pointing it at Lin Li, who was treating Eddie's injuries.
He said to Joe, "Then you should be even more grateful to Lin Li. Without our super crime-fighting consultant directing Barry in battle, the consequences would have been unpredictable. That last part was really exciting and made me want to punch him, if only I could beat him."
Seeing that Eddie was not in mortal danger, Joe smiled and said to Cisco, "Yes, your consultant is great. I almost thought I was going to lose Barry. I want to punch him too."
Cisco rolled his eyes and said, "Don't even think about it. He's a monster who can eat 2550 burritos in one sitting."
"Oh, no…" Joe's mouth hung open in disbelief. That was truly a superhuman appetite.
After a simple treatment for Eddie, and confirming he was out of danger, Lin Li found Barry, picked him up directly, and said, "Joe, I need to take Barry back to Star Labs for treatment. Eddie needs to wait for the ambulance. I think you'll need to fabricate a suitable reason for how this forest got so damaged. After all, your superiors won't accept the metahuman story."
Joe nodded in agreement, "OK, take care of Barry."
This exceptionally perilous confrontation with the metahuman left him with many feelings.
Now he didn't have much objection to Barry being The Flash. Barry's words, "Joe, don't worry, I'll protect you," moved him beyond measure. He also realized that Barry had truly grown up and needed to forge his own path. He should let Barry decide how to proceed, rather than controlling him. He only needed to remind him when he strayed from the path, and that would be enough.
Then Cisco and Lin Li put Barry in the car, leaving Joe to watch Eddie, and they drove back to Star Labs.
"Cisco, do you have a lot of cash?" Lin Li suddenly asked when the car reached the bustling city.
Cisco said, "What? You haven't paid me back the seven dollars you owe me. What do you want to borrow money for?"
Lin Li said, "Underwear, clothes, daily necessities, food—all those personal and common items."
"What? Our top priority is to get Barry back for treatment, not to buy your groceries."
"I've checked Barry. He's just overexerted himself and fallen into a temporary coma. The Speed Force is rapidly repairing his cellular damage. Even without treatment, he'll wake up soon."
"Really?"
"YES."
"OK, the password is 123321. Be quick, and bring me a bag of Twizzlers."
Cisco took out his wallet from his pocket, pulled out a black card, handed it to Lin Li, and gestured for him to swipe freely.
Twizzlers were a candy Cisco really liked, or rather, a candy many foreigners liked. Lin Li had the chance to try them, and the taste… it was like plastic, or nail polish, or soap—a very perplexing flavor. If it weren't for their resemblance to spicy strips and Cisco happily munching on them, Lin Li wouldn't have tried them. One taste made him feel like throwing up. The difference between foreign and Chinese diets shocked him. They were all people, so why was their food so different?
Cisco drove and stopped on Blackner Street, which was on the way back to Star Labs. There was a large Walmart department store there.
Cisco parked the car by the side of the street. As Lin Li got out and was about to close the car door, Cisco seemed to remember something and quickly called out to Lin Li, "Wait, buy me some motorcycle magazines, some really cool heavy motorcycles. Buy me a few issues."
"OK." Lin Li slammed the car door shut and entered Walmart.
Everyone knows what a Walmart supermarket is like, right? They're all pretty similar, but in the US, the supermarkets here offer better service, more products, and are larger than those in China.
After all, it's a home-field advantage.
Lin Li went straight to a sales associate and rattled off everything he wanted to buy.
Most of it was desserts, ice cream, chocolate, milk, and a very large quantity of snacks, as well as fresh vegetables, beef, chicken, and so on.
Just checking out and calculating the bill took almost half an hour.
Back in the car, Lin Li, carrying large bags of desserts, ice cream, and ingredients, directly tossed the Twizzlers and the dozen or so motorcycle magazines to Cisco.
He also handed Cisco a long, long receipt.
Cisco stared at the receipt in shock, a receipt taller than himself. He pulled it all the way down, saw the price, and couldn't help but shout, "What? You spent 100,000 dollars!"
Lin Li sat in the passenger seat and quickly pulled out a container of Talenti coconut-flavored ice cream. The supermarket staff had highly recommended this brand, saying it had the most positive reviews. Lin Li hadn't tried it before. He took a spoon, dug in a large mouthful, savoring the Impact of coconut and milk flavors on his tongue, and said dreamily, "You won't regret it. I'm treating you to dinner tonight."
