A long-limbed creature was crouched in the corridor, weeping.
Its massive body completely blocked the path.
Bai Yuze slowly backed away, afraid of startling the monster before him.
"Is that even human?"
Regardless of whether the creature in front of him was human or not, for now, staying away was the most sensible course of action.
Bai Yuze was incredibly grateful that he could see in the dark; otherwise, he probably would have ended up in a close embrace with the monster.
Since the path ahead was blocked, Bai Yuze turned and took another route, constantly looking back at the creature behind him to prevent a sneak attack.
Fortunately, Bai Yuze followed the other path to the end of the corridor.
He looked around and found himself in a dilapidated house.
How could this corridor connect to a ruined house?
Suddenly, the surrounding environment began to collapse, and the ground started to disappear.
"Am I waking up?"
Bai Yuze immediately realized that he was about to exit this absurd yet realistic dream, so he tried hard to remember everything he had seen.
"A strange corridor, a long-limbed creature, a ruined house! And..."
A flash of white light, and Bai Yuze opened his eyes, a confused expression on his face.
"Bai Yu Student, it's time for the opening ceremony."
Beside him, Sakayanagi Arisu smiled as she looked at him.
"Sakayanagi Student! Do you have paper and a pen? I have something very important!"
Although Sakayanagi Arisu was a little puzzled, she still handed Bai Yuze a pen and paper. Bai Yuze took them and quickly wrote down what he had seen in his dream.
After doing this, Bai Yuze exhaled, while also pondering the content of his dream.
If it were a normal nightmare, Bai Yuze wouldn't have cared, but ever since coming to this strange Real Classroom world, he had become cautious, fearing that one careless mistake would lead to his death again.
"Did Bai Yu Student dream of something interesting?"
Bai Yuze had been sleeping, and as soon as he woke up, he asked her for paper and a pen, so the truth was that Bai Yuze had dreamed of something; whether it was interesting or not was another matter.
"Uh... interesting... I wouldn't say so."
Corridor, creature, house—these things had nothing to do with being interesting.
"Alright, let's not talk about this. Let's hurry to the opening ceremony."
Bai Yuze changed the subject. Seeing this, Sakayanagi Arisu found it difficult to press further and could only pick up her cane and head to the opening ceremony with Bai Yuze.
As the two stepped out of the classroom door, a voice called out to Bai Yuze.
"Bai Yuze, come with me to the office."
It was A-Class homeroom teacher Majima Tomoya.
"Teacher, isn't there still an opening ceremony?"
Calculating the time, the opening ceremony was about to begin; a conversation at this point seemed a bit unreasonable.
Majima's face showed a complex expression.
"You don't need to attend the opening ceremony. This is also the decision of the school's higher-ups."
Hearing Majima's words, Bai Yuze looked at Sakayanagi Arisu with a puzzled expression.
And Sakayanagi Arisu also had a puzzled expression on her face.
"It seems Sakayanagi Arisu is unaware. Is the Majima Teacher in front of me the real Majima?"
Majima seemed to notice Bai Yuze's wariness. He covered his head and gave a wry smile.
"I haven't been changed by those things. I called you to talk about what happened earlier."
As if afraid Bai Yuze would get scared and run away, Majima took a few steps back.
"Then repeat the rules on that note in the classroom a few times."
Bai Yuze was still not reassured.
Finally, Majima had no choice but to repeat those few rules, which finally earned him Bai Yuze's trust.
"Sorry, Sakayanagi Student, you'll have to go to the opening ceremony alone."
"It's alright."
Sakayanagi Arisu smiled slightly, then left.
Bai Yuze, on the other hand, followed Majima to the office.
There were no other teachers in the office.
Majima casually pulled over a chair and sat down, also pushing a chair towards Bai Yuze.
"Sit."
"No need, I'll just stand and listen."
Majima smiled, reached for the teapot, and poured two cups of water.
"Sit down, our conversation won't be short."
Seeing this, Bai Yuze could only sit down. As soon as he was seated, Majima reached out to Bai Yuze.
"Hand it over."
"What?"
"The thing."
Bai Yuze was very confused. What was going on? Were all anime Japanese people riddlers?
"I'm talking about the Guaidan." Majima paused. "It's that vermilion spherical object."
"It's gone..."
"The school won't take it for free; it will transfer 4 million points to you."
"It's really gone..."
Bai Yuze still repeated the same words.
Majima frowned.
"That thing is no good for you. Carrying it will continuously bring bad luck."
"I'm really not lying!"
Bai Yuze recounted what had just happened to Majima, who fell silent after listening.
"Bai Yu Student... do you prefer a peaceful life or a life full of stories?"
"Uh... a peaceful one, I guess. Why?"
As a shut-in in his previous life, Bai Yuze knew his own limitations. He preferred to leave those adventurous stories to the protagonists.
"I'm very sorry... the life you prefer might gradually drift away from you..."
Bai Yuze: ???
"Did you dream of a strange corridor?"
Majima looked at Bai Yuze's surprised expression, smiled, and began to comfort him.
"No need to be surprised. That corridor is actually the power of the Guaidan. What you saw is what you are about to experience. Later, you will encounter the things you saw in your dream."
"Things I'm about to experience?" Bai Yuze pondered. "Will I die?"
"That depends on your own ability."
Majima smiled and picked up his water cup to drink.
"Since you said this is an ability, then I'm not the only one who possesses this ability, am I?"
Bai Yuze was very certain of one thing: he was special, but definitely not the only one.
Majima's understanding of this ability also indirectly indicated that Majima either possessed this ability himself or had come into contact with people who did.
"That's right, you're not the only student with this ability. As for how many there are, you'll have to discover that yourself."
Majima did not deny it outright; he openly affirmed Bai Yuze's thoughts.
"Last question, what kind of school is this, exactly?"
"Hahaha, I'm sorry, I can't explain this clearly. If you survive, then I won't need to waste my breath explaining it."
Majima answered with a laugh, and his words also hinted that Bai Yuze's upcoming experiences would be full of danger.
"Alright, haven't you finished buying things for your dorm room yet? Hurry up and go. If the store closes, you won't be able to buy anything."
Majima directly motioned for Bai Yuze to leave. He had thought it would take a lot of time to persuade Bai Yuze to hand over the Guaidan. Now that the Guaidan had been absorbed by Bai Yuze, there wasn't much left to talk about.
Bai Yuze nodded, then stood up. Just as he was walking out of the office, Majima called out.
"Bai Yuze, make sure you come back alive."
Bai Yuze remained silent, closing the door behind him.
