Chapter 37 - Five

It was late at night. The moon shone faintly as the icy wind swept through the streets.

A red light filled a room when a magic circle appeared on the floor. Soon, a curvaceous figure took shape, and a beautiful red-haired woman emerged from the glow.

Rias looked around: a large bed, white walls, no furniture. It was Daniel's room. After a few seconds, she confirmed through the door that the young man seemed to be chatting in the living room with the girls.

The young woman sighed, a little uncertain, but her eyes soon filled with determination. She didn't want to marry Riser.

She began to undress; she would wait for Daniel under the sheets.

While removing her underwear, she noticed a towel lying on the bed. After a moment's thought, she decided to wrap it around her voluptuous body.

She had heard that what's most tempting is what isn't entirely revealed. Then she remembered something: she cast a spell to isolate sound and another to block the door. Satisfied, she lay down on the bed, waiting for the young man.

---

Daniel went upstairs in high spirits. Things seemed to be going well with Asia. He was almost certain she would accept to be his girlfriend if he asked. Things with Koneko weren't as smooth, so he still hesitated to make anything official with the pretty blonde. Daniel suspected that if he started dating Asia before settling things with Koneko, everything would become more complicated.

He liked them both and didn't want to ruin things with either of them — not even slightly.

Soon, his room came into view. He entered as he did any other day, thinking about grabbing the towel on his bed to take a shower.

He hadn't even closed the door when he noticed a curvaceous, pale figure lying on his bed.

Daniel was bewildered. Had he entered the wrong house? But he remembered clearly — he had just been talking with Asia and Koneko in the living room moments ago.

The redhead smiled seductively as she crossed her legs. Daniel swallowed hard, nervous. He had seen far too much.

What was Rias doing in his house? Had the teleportation circles malfunctioned?

Seeing the young man's expression, Rias hesitated before speaking.

"Come here, Daniel. I need to ask you for something."

Daniel hesitated, approaching slowly, his mind still trying to process the situation. He finally calmed down as he recalled a certain peculiarity he had noticed in Rias. The young man merely shook his head, trying to ignore his boss's strange exhibitionist tendencies.

He sat on the edge of the bed as Rias leaned closer and said:

"I need you to make love to me," she whispered, removing the towel from her body. "I want you to take my virginity. Now."

Daniel choked. What had he just heard? Confused, he could only ask:

"Why?"

Rias tried to remain serious. She took Daniel's hands and placed them on her breasts.

"Daniel, am I not good enough?"

He hesitated for a second before pulling his hands away, his mind racing to make sense of what was happening.

Rias bit her lip before speaking again.

"Think of it as a favor to your master."

Daniel's mind clicked. So that's what this is about, he thought. The benefits had sounded too good to be true — long life, enhanced physique, sharpened senses.

"I see... that's what this is about, isn't it?" he said, looking at the redhead with disappointment. "The fine print of being a devil — the 'unspoken rules,' right?"

Rias blinked, confused. Where was he getting that from? Frustration began to rise — nothing was going as she had planned. Didn't he realize she was trying to seduce him?

"That's not it, Daniel. There's no law or rule that allows masters to force their servants," she said, rubbing her forehead, clearly exhausted. "Some do, yes, but I never would. Understood?"

Daniel looked at her suspiciously.

"Then what? You like me?"

He couldn't understand why she would suddenly ask to have sex with him. That was the only explanation that made sense.

"I'm not denying your feelings," Daniel said carefully, "but right now I'm more focused on strengthening my relationship with Asia and Koneko. Can we start as friends?"

As a devil, he had accepted the idea of polygamy, but taking someone he didn't currently have feelings for was difficult.

Rias felt drained. Daniel swung from one extreme to another. She began doubting her own allure. Wasn't she beautiful? Why did he keep making excuses? She considered telling him she liked him, hoping it might make him agree, but she quickly shook her head. She wasn't going to force or lie to him — that was exactly what she hated about her engagement to Riser.

For a brief moment, she thought about turning to Issei but dismissed the idea. She couldn't picture herself with him in that way. With Daniel, though, it was different — there was no resistance.

With a sigh, she decided to tell him everything. She felt an odd sense of trust in him, maybe because of the confidence with which he proposed his ideas: the hunts, bringing in Asia... Maybe he'll come up with something, she thought before explaining everything.

---

Daniel listened in astonishment.

"I've thought of all sorts of things, but this was the only method I could come up with. And you're the only person close to me who can actually do it," the redhead concluded.

The young man felt flattered hearing that.

"Does this count as some sort of confession?"

Rias let out a small laugh.

"Maybe... I suppose?" she said, resting her head on Daniel's shoulder. "So, any ideas? I don't want to marry him."

Daniel thought through everything he'd heard, and several ideas began forming in his mind.

"The devil society works like the old medieval nobility, right?"

"Technically, humans copied the model from us, but yes, that's correct," Rias replied.

Daniel nodded and continued.

"What's your fiancé's house rank? No, better yet — tell me everything you know about him."

Rias began talking about Riser while Daniel shared his ideas as they came. The more she listened, the more her crimson eyes sparkled.

How did I not think of that before? she thought.

Without realizing it, they both lay down as they talked, Rias nestled against Daniel.

---

Minutes later, the light of a magic circle illuminated the room. An elegant, beautiful woman with silver hair, dressed as a maid, appeared before them.

Her red eyes fixed on the pair on the bed, and her expression shifted slightly. Had she arrived too late? She had tried to trace Rias as quickly as possible, but several strange signals scattered throughout the city had interfered with the spell.

"But... did it end that fast?" she muttered, glancing curiously at Daniel.

Rias and Daniel had already noticed her arrival, and thanks to their heightened senses, they clearly heard the maid's comment.

"Cough, cough..."

Daniel choked, realizing what she meant by that look. He felt offended, though he couldn't really defend himself — he had no idea if he'd be "fast" or not. After all, he had no experience whatsoever. So he simply maintained a neutral expression, trying to hide his discomfort.

"Rias, are you trying to break the engagement by doing this?" the woman asked.

Rias noticed the misunderstanding but didn't bother correcting it.

"If I hadn't done this, my parents and onii-sama wouldn't listen to me," she replied, crossing her legs and covering herself with the towel.

"Both Sirzechs-sama and your father would be heartbroken to learn you gave your virginity to a slave like this," said the woman, her anxious eyes scanning the bed for any revealing evidence.

Rias smirked inwardly but also felt annoyed. She didn't appreciate being spoken to like that.

"My virginity belongs to me. What's wrong with me choosing who to give it to?" she retorted firmly. "And I won't allow you to call my cute servant a slave — even if it's you, Grayfia."

Grayfia only shook her head, her tone turning slightly disappointed.

"Even so, you are the next heiress of the Gremory clan. To have done something like this..." she began, then turned her gaze directly to Daniel. "Who are you? I serve the Gremory family, and as you may have heard, my name is Grayfia."

Daniel felt slightly intimidated by the maid's piercing gaze, but he still replied:

"Oh... I'm Daniel. Nice to meet you?" he said uncertainly, unsure if he should clear up the misunderstanding or not.

Beside him, Rias clung to his arm, silently asking him not to say more.

"Grayfia, did you come here of your own will? Or did my family send you... or was it onii-sama?" Rias asked, studying her.

The maid was silent for a few seconds, as if reflecting. She finally replied, her tone slightly delayed:

"Oh... all of them."

Rias nodded slowly, understanding the situation.

"If my onii-sama's Queen came to the human world personally, it can only mean that. I see." Then she turned to Daniel. "Thank you for your ideas. I'll see you tomorrow."

She hesitated a moment, then leaned in and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek before standing up and grabbing her clothes.

Grayfia's expression shifted slightly at the gesture, but she said nothing, simply waiting until Rias was ready.

Moments later, a crimson light filled the room, and both women vanished within the magic circle, leaving a bewildered Daniel sitting on the bed.
