Chapter 27 – Third Day of Rest (Part 3)
The Bass cabin was a whirlwind of energy and noise. The atmosphere was far from calm, and that could only mean one thing:
It was male improvisation night.
Cody was at the center of it all.
Without warning, he climbed onto one of the beds and raised his hands like he was about to start a grand performance.
"Gentlemen, tonight we shall be artists, warriors, and legends!" said Cody, his voice full of drama.
Owen and Noah already knew what was coming.
And without missing a beat, they joined the theatrics.
From one corner of the cabin, the three began singing the intro to Two and a Half Men with absolute commitment.
"Men, men, men, men, manly men, men men…"
Noah sang with pure sarcasm, his expression dead serious like he was in a singing competition.
Owen, on the other hand, gave it his all, waving his arms like he was at a stadium concert.
Cody conducted the performance, slapping his hands on the table to keep the rhythm.
At first, the other guys stared in disbelief… but then it happened.
Owen started clapping with full conviction.
And like a chain reaction, the others joined in.
The cabin filled with applause and cheers as the trio ended the song with an exaggerated bow.
"This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen… but I gotta admit, it was funny," said Duncan, crossing his arms with a crooked smile.
"You've got talent! For chaos, but talent nonetheless," said DJ, laughing hard.
"Yeah, well. Some are born for the spotlight," said Noah with a sigh, dropping his arm onto the table.
"Thank you, thank you. We'll be here all week," said Cody, with a theatrical bow.
If anything could make the night even more intense, it was a test of strength.
And DJ and Duncan decided to take on the challenge.
Keeping the momentum, the two positioned themselves at the table, surrounded by excited shouts from the other guys.
"This is an epic showdown!" exclaimed Owen, slamming the table with energy.
"The big guy versus the rebel," said Noah, settling against the wall for a better view.
Cody stood between them, taking on the role of referee with full authority.
"Ready?" asked Cody, waiting for their nods.
DJ tilted his head with focus, adjusting his stance.
"More than ready," said DJ firmly.
Duncan smirked, rolling his shoulders to loosen up before the clash.
"Let's see what you've got," said Duncan, with a challenging tone.
Hands locked.
Eyes sharpened.
The others started placing bets and making comments.
"Come on, DJ, show your brute strength!" shouted Owen, fully invested.
"Duncan can take more than he looks," said Noah with a neutral tone.
Duncan gritted his teeth, feeling DJ's pressure but holding firm.
"That all you got, big guy?" said Duncan, with a sly smile.
DJ didn't answer—he just increased the pressure, making the table creak slightly.
Arms trembled.
Tension peaked.
And then, DJ tilted the balance in his favor and slammed Duncan's arm to the table.
Victory for DJ!
The cabin erupted in cheers and celebration as DJ raised his arms proudly and Duncan let out a soft laugh.
"Well played," said Duncan, shaking his head.
"You too," replied DJ, giving him a fist bump.
"Now it's time for something even more epic!" announced Cody, with renewed energy.
Without delay, the guys lined up like academy soldiers and began singing the military school march from Malcolm in the Middle.
🎶 "I'm the Candy Man" (whoo)
Who can take a sunrise? (Who can take a sunrise?)
Sprinkle it with dew (sprinkle it with dew)
Cover it with chocolate and a miracle or two…" 🎶
Owen raised his arms like he was in a play, fully committed to the spectacle.
Duncan, though wearing a mocking expression, followed the rhythm with mild interest, tapping the table to keep the beat.
DJ sang with energy, while Noah did the bare minimum but stayed in sync.
Cody conducted the singing with exaggerated movements, like the group's instructor.
🎶 "The Candy Man makes everything he bakes
Satisfying and delicious
Talk about your childhood wishes
You can even eat the dishes" 🎶
The song ended with a firm stance and dramatic silence.
Then, everyone burst into laughter.
Owen slammed the table in amusement.
"That was the best thing all week!" said Owen, still laughing.
Duncan ran a hand through his hair and exhaled with a smile.
"I'll admit… that was decent," said Duncan, keeping his relaxed attitude.
Cody looked at the guys with satisfaction, raising his arms like receiving an imaginary ovation.
"Gentlemen, this has been a night of honor, madness, and great entertainment," said Cody, with a wide grin.
Noah snorted with amusement.
"Or whatever this was."
And so, between laughs and jokes, the guys' cabin wrapped up another night of chaos and fun.
But the night was far from over. The boys were still full of energy, and the Bass cabin had turned into an improvised show.
Next came more music, absurd games, and comedic numbers.
From the center of the cabin, DJ, Owen, and Cody began humming the first notes of the iconic song.
DJ tapped the rhythm on the table, nodding with a focused expression.
🎶 "In the jungle, the mighty jungle…" sang DJ with a deep, harmonious voice.
Owen leaned forward, closing his eyes before joining in with enthusiasm.
🎶 "The lion sleeps tonight…"
The other guys exchanged glances before joining in with claps.
Cody grinned slyly before adding his part.
🎶 "A-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh…"
And then the cabin exploded.
Owen raised his voice, waving his arms like he was at a concert.
DJ added soft harmonies, keeping a serious tone that contrasted with Owen's exaggeration.
Cody moved theatrically, conducting the improvised orchestra with grand gestures.
The other guys joined in with claps and ridiculous movements.
"This is absolutely unnecessary and that's why it's perfect!" shouted Duncan with a laugh.
The song ended with a dramatic gesture from Cody, while Owen collapsed to the floor as if overcome with emotion.
"And thus, the lion sleeps in peace," said Owen, panting dramatically.
Noah shook his head, letting out a theatrical sigh.
"Wish we could all sleep in peace after this."
As the musical spectacle ended, in another corner of the cabin a game was unfolding—one that could only be described as unnecessarily competitive.
Duncan lined up three empty cups on the table, adjusting the distance with precision.
"All right, gentlemen," said Duncan, with a challenging tone. "This is a test of accuracy, strategy, and a bit of luck."
Geoff shook a small stone in his hand, weighing it.
"Are we going for speed or style?" asked Geoff casually.
Noah leaned against the wall, watching with a neutral expression.
"I prefer precision, but you guys can stick to the chaos tactic."
Duncan smirked before launching the first stone.
It hit the first cup, making it wobble but not fall.
Geoff spun the stone between his fingers before releasing it with a smooth motion.
He knocked over the second cup with surprising accuracy.
"Boom!" exclaimed Geoff, raising his arms.
Noah picked up his stone without much enthusiasm, aimed effortlessly, and threw it.
The cup tilted slowly and fell.
Noah exhaled calmly.
"Really wasn't that hard."
The guys looked at each other before deciding to raise the stakes.
"Now let's try with obstacles," said Duncan, with a mischievous smile.
As if the night couldn't get more absurd, Trent and Harold decided to recreate an iconic number.
From one corner, Trent gripped his guitar and strummed soft notes, making sure everyone was watching.
"Ladies and gentlemen," said Trent solemnly. "This is a tragic… and ridiculous story."
Harold stepped forward, placing a hand on his chest with drama.
"One day I was at the beach…" began Harold, shifting to a more sorrowful tone.
Trent kept playing softly, setting the perfect mood.
"And I thought it would be funny to pull a prank…" said Harold, with a dramatic pause.
"Then…"
Harold paused for a few seconds, took a deep breath, and said it with maximum emotion:
"I ripped my pants."
The boys watched in silence for a moment before bursting into laughter.
Owen clutched his stomach from laughing so hard, nearly falling to the side.
"This is art! Pure entertainment!" shouted Owen, gasping for air.
Duncan shook his head, unable to hide a smile.
"I'll admit it. That was a solid performance."
Cody applauded slowly, nodding with satisfaction.
"It's official. Tonight has been a masterpiece of chaos."
And so, between songs, games, and ridiculous jokes, the Bass cabin closed another legendary night.
The Bass cabin was at peak energy.
The games had been a hit, the music had brought unforgettable moments, and now Cody had something else prepared.
It was time for a show.
And not just any show.
It was time for…
Cody grabbed the improvised microphone (which was actually an empty bottle) and stepped into the center of the cabin.
"Gentlemen," said Cody, in a solemn voice. "Prepare yourselves for an emotional journey. A story of loss, nostalgia, and a love that transcends time."
The boys exchanged glances—some curious, others clearly skeptical.
Duncan exhaled and crossed his arms, watching with mild interest.
"Is this another ridiculous number?" asked Duncan.
"Yes," said Noah without looking up, fully accustomed to Cody's chaos.
Owen, on the other hand, was already fully immersed in the atmosphere, eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"I'm ready!" said Owen, clenching his fists with excitement.
Cody paused dramatically.
And then, he began to sing.
Cody closed his eyes for a moment before letting the lyrics flow.
🎶 "Gary, I know I was wrong
I neglected you and now you're gone
Gary, I'm sorry, I forgot
And I didn't think I'd lose you…" 🎶
His voice carried a touch of genuine emotion, a tone loaded with drama.
Owen immediately placed a hand on his chest, feeling the weight of the words.
🎶 "Now you've left me, I'm alone
Your meow is music when I think of you
Come home soon, come back to me
(Gary come back to me)" 🎶 Cody continued, with an expression of absolute melancholy.
Geoff started laughing—not at the song, but at the absurd intensity with which Cody performed it.
"…I miss you so much, Gary."
Owen let out a trembling sigh.
"God, this is too sad!" said Owen, his eyes already filling with tears.
Duncan raised an eyebrow, amused by Owen's reaction.
"You can't be crying already."
"But Gary's gone!" shouted Owen, his voice cracking as he wiped his eyes.
Cody kept singing with full commitment.
🎶 "I won't forget you, come back to me, I have no excuse
For forgetting you, the rhythm dropped in my heart
I hope you read this and come home soon
Gary come back to me (Gary come back to me)" 🎶
The mix of drama, nostalgia, and exaggeration was having a powerful effect on the cabin.
Some boys laughed, others genuinely felt the emotion in the song.
DJ smiled as he leaned toward Duncan.
"I'll admit it, the guy knows how to grab attention."
While the others continued laughing and commenting, Owen couldn't hold back anymore.
As Cody reached the final part of the song, Owen collapsed onto the bed, covering his face with his hands.
"Gary should've never left!" said Owen, sobbing with real pain.
Noah watched the scene in disbelief before shaking his head.
"You have a special talent for emotional sabotage," said Noah, giving Cody a subtle nod of approval.
Cody gave a slight smile, bowing theatrically.
"It's a gift," said Cody, with fake modesty.
Geoff kept laughing, slapping the table in amusement.
"This was gold! I didn't know I needed to see Owen break down over a snail until now."
Owen lifted his face, eyes red from emotion, pointing at Cody.
"You're cruel, Cody!" said Owen, with no real anger behind it.
Cody walked over and gave him a solemn pat on the shoulder.
"I understand, my friend," said Cody.
The cabin erupted in laughter and comments, marking another unforgettable moment in the boys' night.
Cody's Confessional
Cody smiled with satisfaction, leaning back in the chair with total ease.
"I gotta say, that was a performance worthy of a standing ovation."
He let out an exaggerated sigh, as if still on stage.
"You know you did your job right when someone ends up crying and everyone else is laughing."
He leaned forward slightly, with a sly smile.
"Is it a special skill? Maybe. Is it natural? Definitely."
Cody raised his hands as if receiving another round of applause.
"And the best part is, I didn't even have to try that hard. Owen did half the work by collapsing like he'd lost a family member."
He let out a soft laugh.
"Definitely one of the best nights."
Owen's Confessional
Owen's eyes were still a bit red, but his expression was a mix of emotion and exhaustion.
"I was emotionally destroyed and I don't know how to feel about it."
He let out a huff before placing a hand on his chest dramatically.
"Gary… should've never left."
He shook his head, exhaling slowly.
"But to be fair, Cody's got talent. Not everyone can sing a SpongeBob song and make me depressed."
Finally, he smiled lightly.
"I can't complain. It was a great night."
Duncan's Confessional
Duncan leaned back in the chair, arms crossed with a relaxed expression.
"Cody's a weird guy, but you gotta admit it. He knows how to keep everyone entertained."
He exhaled softly before shaking his head in mild disbelief.
"Watching Owen fall apart over a snail was the highlight of the night."
Duncan smirked.
"Never thought I'd say that, but here we are."
Geoff's Confessional
Geoff leaned forward, still laughing at what they'd just experienced.
"Man, what a night! Music, competition, madness, and Cody tearing Owen to pieces."
He let out a hearty laugh before shaking his head.
"Honestly, this is exactly what we needed. Moments like this are what make this camp worth it."
Noah's Confessional
Noah exhaled softly, settling into the chair with indifference.
"I should be used to the stupidity that happens here, but every night they manage to surprise me."
He shook his head, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
"Cody has a special way of getting people to join his nonsense. It's weird, but it works."
After a pause, Noah smiled slightly.
"I don't know if it was a productive night, but it was definitely entertaining."
DJ's Confessional
DJ let out a low laugh, shaking his head with amusement.
"Owen crying like he lost someone was too much."
He took a breath before nodding in approval.
"But I gotta say it. Cody knows how to get everyone to relax and have fun. And in a game this intense, that's necessary."
He leaned back with a calm expression.
"Yeah, it was a good night."
