Prologue

Syveron cares for you and will shape the world to be..

I turned off the TV, gathered my clothes to get ready. My bed was cluttered with documents, drives, a laptop, and a firearm. As I put on my jacket, the phone rang. After encrypting the call, I picked up.

"Eagle, Got the location and ID."

"I am on my way, Clay"

"Your contract will be void if you do this. You know about this right?"

"Our team is AWOL, Cassie. I don't care what happens to me, but it's clear Syveron is behind this."

"It's about Ivan, right?"

"Don't you dare say his name!"

"Okay, get to the shipyard."

"Who is my target?"

"It's me."

"Wait, what?!"

"This is the only leverage you have to get out of them."

"Are you serious?!"

"If you survive, they can't kill you. I'm better off dead anyway."

"What do you mean?"

"Even if I miss them, I've been tracking them... but wait."

"Yeah."

"I've got something. Bye."

The call ended.

I left home and drove to the shipyard. I carried everything I had to finish this once and for all.

There were a few groups of people in black as I got another call. I felt they were all assassins. As I got out of my car, I took my side arm. Two agents were about to shoot me. I got a call. They stopped. All of them. I knew what was about to happen, no matter how smart I am, emotion got the better of me.

"Hello?"

"I am sorry Alina.."

"Dad!"

(Gunshot)

I was shot, as my father was behind me, another man said.

"Great, father killing her daughter. Now kill him."

"What, wait I did what..."

(Gunshot)

"That's it, hop into ship people. Subject and her father dead, Over."

The rest of the crowd followed the ship as it was time to leave.

"Why dad.." as I said to my dad was long gone. He shot me in the stomach to avoid sudden death on purpose. All I can think of is the last time I mate with him and this is how it ends.

"All the best, Alina."

"Thank you, Daddy."

"Once you win this, let's go get your favorite ice cream, okay?"

"What about Rose? Can she have it too? And Mom?"

"Well, she can have it with the clips, so it's fine. And Mom's busy."

"Oh. Okay then—promise?"

"Promise."

The person is dying. It was late on a foggy, humid night near the coast of an island. A ship's horn bellowed as it sailed away, leaving a trail of blood draining from her body. She struggled to reach her phone—it was her mom calling...

"Hey, Alina."

"Hey, Mom..."

"What's going on? Where are you?"

"Mom... I love you all."

"What's happening?! Alina...!"

The call ended.

Alina is dead. Posting the logs on the dark web...

Log 1 — Gambit

"I was an employee of Syveron—one of the trillion-dollar giants that own everything. I was one of the brains behind their shadows: tampering evidence, smuggling money, moving toxic and contagious substances, kidnapping, torture... genocide on a scale you can't imagine.

I can't say more. If I do, they might make you insane—I'm not kidding. By the time you read this, I'll already be dead. But know this—Syveron has to fall.

My team was executed for losing control. Too many lives ruined. Mine included. We were given a second chance, and we fought—against monsters, immortal anomalies, cults that shouldn't exist. Most of you will never know what I'm talking about. And maybe that's how they want it.

But it was all Syveron's fault. And when it mattered most, they betrayed us because we should never have existed.

So here I am, posting the last of what I have. The evidence. The truth. Don't trust Syveron. Don't make the same mistake we did.

They are inevitable, yes. But if we fight, the truth can still be revealed. Even without powers.

That's all I have left.

May God be with you."
