Tatsuya was seated in the back of the room as he watched the members of the Drama club.
Some were laughing, some were practicing their vocals and others were stuck in their own world reciting lines for their upcoming project.
' Being told to sit back is so embarrassing and I have a feeling some if not most people here don't like me, ' he let out a deep sigh. ' This is why the real world sucks. '
" What was your name again? " He suddenly heard voice from the side.
Without turning to look he replied in a low voice, " it's Tatsuya, Tatsuya Kagami. "
" I knew it sounded familiar, I guess it's a popular name. " The girl said.
" My name is Aina, Aine Kazuki. " The moment he heard the name he lifted his head to take a look at her.
It was Aina Kazuki the new student.
' That name, it sounds familiar, have I heard it from somewhere, and why is a 3D girl talking to me. I know, she must be here to make fun of me, ' he thought.
She also wondered while studying his face, ' is this the same guy from the other day? He looks soo different. There's no way it's him, I'm soo confused. '
A while later Ren was sitting in his class, not paying attention as usual. He rest his head on his palm and stared outside the window as he wondered.
' The last stage was exciting but not my best play, Horikita.... Ilya interesting characters, I didn't expect to end up as the vice president. '
He adjusted his pose and looked In front where the teacher was busy explaining a topic he wasn't paying attention to.
' As usual I can't really see anything clearly, background characters shouldn't be teachers, ' he complained as all he could see was a blurry figure and what they were saying was barely audible to him.
The sound of bell brought joy to starving stomachs of students as it was time for lunch. The students quickly stormed out ofthe classroom.
Only Rick remained in his seat and a few others remained.
A girl suddenly appeared standing beside him, " hey it's strange, I've never seen you eating before? "
Without looking up he replied in a calm tone, " Rin, it's unbecoming of a club president to stalk her lessers. "
" Don't... Don't try to avoid the question." Rin snapped, but she couldn't hide her embarrassment as her cheeks were flushed.
" Here, let's eat, " she said, as she practically pushed her lunch box into his face and moved a chair near his desk.
' She doesn't know when to give up, she was completely unaffected by statement, well played you might not be an NPC, ' he noted amused as he moved his head to look at her.
" It's strange, seeing a first year club president. " Ren stated.
" Well I'm not, and I am, I don't know if that makes any sense. " She tried to explain.
" It does. " He replied his tone casual.
" I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not if you barely change your expression. " She pouted, studying his face for reaction.
" This is just my default design, I can't do anything about it, so elaborate. " He explained tilting his head slightly.
She let chuckled at his explanation as she started hers, ".... Well the third years are preparing for exams so they left the important roles to focus on that, after our club voted for me to take over even through I think others were better suited for this position. "
' So that's the reason she needed more members, then then how am I supposed to be helping the club. This quest is so unclear. '
" Is the club alright? " He asked his voice low and soft.
Her expression darkened as she explained, " Yes it is, for now at least since you brought in new members.... we still need to write a story, enter a competition and win to prove that our club is worth keeping around. "
' I've never done this before what should I say? There no dialogue options. I should just leave there is nothing wrong with retreating and grinding then coming back. ' he thought.
" I'm sure it'll be fine " he stated while standing up, " I'm off to another side quest to student president. We'll meet again in the club. "
As he was leaving the room Rin watched him walk away and eyes studying him.
' Just who are you? I've never seen anyone like you before, and there is almost no life behind those eyes. '
After he existed the room and she noticed her half eaten lunch she remembered why she entered the classroom.
' he easily got me distracted and he didn't even eat a bite. He's so rude but oddly cool. ' she noted to herself.
Lunch break was coming to end, most students were in their classroom.
So Ren was heading to classroom climbing down the stairs, he reached the first floor as he heard a scream behind him from above.
" Aaaaaaaaa, " it was high pitched.
He turned around and saw Ilya in the air falling and about to land in the tiled floor.
He didn't have time to think, as his reflexes were ahead of his thinking. At the moment his registered her they had already moved his body and slid on his knees to catch her.
" That was close thank you for sa.... " She stopped mid thanking him.
After she got a clear look of his face her tone changed to a angry one," Being saved by someone like you, you should have just let me die. Put me down right now. " She demanded.
Ren didn't hesitate to drop her on the floor.
" Awww...that... That hurt you jerk. " She complained.
Because they were already so close to the ground and he was on his knees, he knew she wouldn't get hurt or he just didn't care.
' I shouldn't have saved her, no stop thinking like that. You can't let named characters die. But I do wish she had a mute button. ' he thought as he got back up.
" I can't believe you actually drop me, I knew you were uncivilized. " She said as held the back of her head and rested on her knees.
His eyes turned cold as he stretched out his hand offering to help her get back up. " You shouldn't rejected kindness you didn't earned, because that could imply you accept the opposite of it. "
She flinched at the change of air and the cold look in his eyes, for a moment she felt her chest tighten and body instinctively wanted to move back.
But the feeling quickly disappeared as she noticed his faced went back it's usual neutral self.
She grabbed his hand and huffed before leaving, Ren stood there as he watched her walk away.
He then put in hand his pocket as slowly continued heading to class while remembering the agreement he made with school president a couple of days back.
" You want to be the secretary but that's not fitting of someone with capabilities. The Principal already had position in mind if you remember. " Horikita reminded him.
" Yes I remember but being vice president doesn't really suit my playstyle. " He said
" With secretary you'll always need to be by my side taking and notes and following my lead. " She explained.
" That does sound like it would be annoying.... but don't see any position that demands less from me. " He argued.
" How rude of you, how is spending time with the president annoying, I guess fools always miss out on great opportunities. " Ilya commented.
She then leaned forward against the table as she observed his eyes, " I see, I think there has a slight misunderstanding. "
Ren didn't respond he only tilted his head to the side a little implying that he doesn't follow.
" The vice president isn't an active role not, at least not this school or unless you want it to be, at this school the vice president is more a shadow to the president than another star. "
" Just get to point. " He demanded.
Ilya was fuming from behind, bitting her nails, ' I want to hit him so bad, who does he think he is talking the president that way. " That was the only thought running through her head.
" I understand you're the type that doesn't like the spotlight. So this newly redefined position will work wonders for you. You'll basically have power while not being known. " Her voice became more sharp and inspiring.
" What I want is your strength and you want to stay in the shadows, so stand behind my light and you will have a perfect shadow to blend in without anyone noticing you. " She said her hand stretched out.
There was a moment of silence as he looked at her for a few seconds, " interesting. " He said before shaking her hand.
" Welcome to the student council. Ren Katagiri," she said, her emerald eyes studying his face.
