The entire colosseum buzzed with palpable excitement; Boa Hancock, her sisters, and the entire Kuja tribe erupted into a feasting rampage. The exhilaration on their faces was as vast as the open sea, their minds racing to conceive of any way the pirate could possibly best Bacura.
Although Hancock privately harbored her own doubts, she remained convinced that Bacura would undoubtedly rip Gojo to shreds, given her formidable title as the colosseum's chief executioner.
"Show me what manner of power you truly hold," she murmured, a visible grin gracing her features while her signature composure never left her face.
"Rip him to shreds, Bacura!"
The populace booed and roared with indigestible fury, while Gojo himself seemed merely disappointed. Was this truly a beast he should fear?
Gojo sighed, exhaling a profound breath. "Hey, Kuja people, do you genuinely believe this pet could possibly harm me?" He broke into derisive laughter, a sound that magnetized the audience's attention and cast a sudden silence across the entire colosseum. "If this is your grand death penalty game, then I suppose you must be a congregation of weak dumbasses for labeling this creature an executioner."
His voice was unequivocally loud and clear, and he had the audacity to wink at Boa Hancock, who sat imperiously upon her throne, gazing down at the scene with a fixed grin. She understood that this pirate was, without question, a truly arrogant individual, and yet, observing Gojo's defiance inexplicably made her heart skip a beat, igniting an internal heat within her body.
"Why am I feeling this way?" Hancock bit her lip, her grip tightening against the arms of her chair. "What is this peculiar sensation I am experiencing toward this scum?" She interrogated herself, striving to betray her own feelings, but despite her efforts, she found she could not withdraw her gaze from Gojo, remaining profoundly intrigued by his mysterious Devil Fruit abilities.
"Bacura, finish him!"
"Die, white-haired freak!"
Gojo winced, peeking at his nose with his pinky finger as he glanced at the incoming Bacura. With a swift, brutal swoop, the beast swung her right arm in a vertical arc, her razor-sharp claws aiming to eviscerate her prey. Gojo simply leapt backwards, effortlessly evading the terrifying attack, a maneuver that transformed the colosseum's fervent chatter into the silence of a graveyard.
For several seconds, the atmosphere was utterly silent and cold.
"Wait, don't tell me you all thought she would rip me to shreds instantly, did you?" Gojo teased, deliberately ruffling his hair.
"Unbelievable!"
"He managed to dodge Bacura's killer move?"
"What are you waiting for? Kill that filthy man already!"
The silence shattered into renewed rampage; the people were incensed, staring in disbelief as a mere pirate effortlessly dodged an attack from Bacura that no one had ever survived.
Bacura, the beast, roared in profound frustration as she prepared to assault him once more. Her prominent fangs and lethal claws aimed unerringly at her prey as she charged forward at top speed. Witnessing this, Gojo let out a final, dismissive sigh, stepped sideways, and immediately palmed the beast squarely. A faint crackling sound signaled the breaking of her ribs from the sheer force of the impact, which sent the massive beast flying and crashing catastrophically into the audience stands.
Dust lingered thickly in the air before slowly dissipating; the beast was knocked out cold, though not dead, having sustained only a severe, debilitating wound. The Kuja warriors were rendered utterly speechless and dumbfounded, their jaws agape as they witnessed what had transpired in the mere blink of an eye.
Gojo clasped his hands together with a loud, theatrical yawn. "Hancock, don't tell me this is the best you can muster. If you genuinely wish to defeat me, why not bring forth your most powerful warriors or, better yet, descend here yourself and make this interesting?"
"Who the hell do you think you are addressing, huh?"
"Why don't you go and kill yourself!"
The warriors rioted intensely, hurling any object they could find at the impertinent pirate.
"Then why don't you all come down here and fight if you want to keep your mouths running, you scumbags," Gojo cursed, turning his defiant gaze directly toward the empress.
"Alright!" Hancock clapped her hands sharply. "I shall bring forth my strongest warriors, and if you can defeat them, the victory is yours!"
"Then, bring them in," he retorted, cracking his knuckles and stretching his muscles as he watched the two sisters, Sandersonia and Marigold, step authoritatively inside the ring.
"Oooo, a two-versus-one, huh? This brings back memories," Gojo chuckled to himself, reminiscing about his climactic fight against Sukuna, who had utilized Megumi's Ten Shadows technique to summon Mahoraga to fight alongside him. "Let's get this started; my friends are waiting for me."
Marigold turned respectfully toward her elder sister, Hancock. "Do not worry, we promise to defeat him, Snake Princess."
"Do not fail me!" Hancock gestured with a confident smirk, placing her complete trust in her sisters.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, pirate! Let the battle commence!" Sandersonia charged forward at a decent speed, attempting to end the match in a single, decisive swoop, slashing vertically with her weapon—a strike that halted mere inches away from her target!
Boa Hancock's eyes widened, her curiosity intensifying as she watched her sister's weapon halt inexplicably in mid-air. "So, that is the power of an invisible barrier, hmm? Show me more," Hancock mused with a smirk.
"Wha—?" Gojo punched Sandersonia squarely in the gut before she could even process what had just happened. Why had her weapon halted before it could collide with her target?
Blood gushed from her mouth as she struggled to pick herself up from the ground. "A Devil Fruit user, hmm?" She scoffed, "An invisible barrier user. This is going to be troublesome."
"Heh… you say it's going to be troublesome? Then show me what you've got," Gojo taunted.
The sisters let out a synchronized sigh, now resolving to take the battle with the utmost seriousness as they stepped forward in unison.
The air in the Kuja arena trembled with palpable heat as Boa Marigold stepped forward, her heavy footsteps echoing like distant thunder. A low, menacing hiss vibrated in her throat, the intricate markings on her arms beginning to glow with a molten, golden intensity.
Her muscles bulged unnaturally, her skin tightening and then rippling as though something alive were moving beneath it. With a sudden flash of orange fire, Marigold's body expanded outward—her legs merging, her torso dramatically elongating. Scales, thick and radiant like sun-heated gold, swept across her skin in a powerful wave. Her eyes narrowed into slits, revealing narrow amber pupils, as her human form melted with terrifying grace into the massive, coiling body of a king cobra.
A plume of emerald flames erupted from her mouth as she reared back, towering ominously above the ground, her iconic hood unfurling into a wide, intimidating display of pure power.
Beside her, Boa Sandersonia smiled, her serpentine tongue flicking out even before her transformation commenced. Her hair writhed first, shifting into pale green coils that merged seamlessly with the length of her spine. Her entire body flowed downward like a liquid, expanding and stretching until her human silhouette dissolved entirely.
Smooth jade scales rippled across her newly elongated form, gleaming ominously under the arena's torchlight. Her pupils narrowed into gentle half-moons, granting her the eerie, soft gaze of a constricting python. Sandersonia's massive snake body curled and uncurled with a hypnotic, fluid grace, the tip of her tail brushing lightly across the stone floor.
Together, the two sisters rose—two towering serpents, one blazing and fierce, the other calm and lethally fluid—each radiating the ancient, formidable Kuja strength that made even the most seasoned warriors fall into a respectful silence.
The crowd buzzed fervently; excited chatters and anxious whispers filled the heavy air, all eyes glued to the sisters' most powerful forms.
"That is the Gorgon Sisters' ultimate form! Rip that filthy man to shreds!"
"The fight will be concluded in an instant!"
Gojo's jaw was agape, his eyes gleaming with unadulterated excitement. "Devil Fruits are truly awesome," he complimented the sisters, admiring their transformation to peak battle condition.
"Sorry, but this fight is already concluded," the snake sisters hummed in unison, their forked tongues swaying sideways with predatory confidence.
Gojo leaped forward, his fist clenched, his characteristic grin never leaving his face as he sent a powerful punch toward Marigold, who easily tilted her head sideways with her eyes serenely closed. 'Did she just dodge that with her eyes closed? Interesting!'
Gojo intentionally tried to minimize his strength, not wishing to defeat the snake duo in a flash, as he continued his relentless assault. A series of blows were effortlessly dodged by the sisters, who were now actively utilizing their Observation Haki.
Observation Haki is a formidable power that enables the user to sense and intuitively read an opponent's intentions moments before they even strike.
"Left."
"A lower kick."
"A jab."
"Right fist."
The sisters called out every move Gojo was poised to unleash, reading and dodging his attacks with infuriating ease. He acted his part well, placing his hands on his knees while feigning being out of breath.
'Is this some kind of precognitive power? To read my moves before I even commit to them,' he thought to himself. "How the hell are you two reading what I am about to do?"
A loud, intimidating hiss surfaced within the ring. "It is called Observation Haki. It allows us to perceive your every intended move," Sandersonia elucidated.
"Now that you understand, you must see you stand no chance of defeating us. Why don't you simply surrender and allow us to crush every bit of your bones, granting you a quick, merciful death," Marigold chuckled darkly.
"Observation Haki, hmm? Amusing!" In an instant, Gojo vanished from his position, a movement so swift it caused the sisters—and even Hancock—to lose track of him for a critical moment.
Boom!
Sandersonia was sent flying, crashing brutally into the audience stands, where she passed out immediately. Hancock's eyes widened in sheer disbelief, her gaze snapping to Gojo, whose fist was now engulfed in azure blue flames.
"What just transpired?" Hancock questioned herself, sweat streaming down her temples, her fists clenching involuntarily.
"One down. Now, let us have a fair fight," Gojo uttered calmly, taking a relaxed battle stance.
Marigold was utterly caught off guard. She had been completely unable to track the blinding speed her prey had just demonstrated, a velocity that had taken out her sister in a single, decisive blow. She tilted her massive head to gaze pleadingly at the Snake Princess, who looked down upon her with a visibly disappointed expression.
"I will fucking kill you!" She exclaimed, swaying her body sideways as she charged recklessly at Gojo. Gojo understood he had acquired the tactical information he desired, and all that remained was to thoroughly clobber his remaining opponent and compel the Snake Princess to restore his friends to normal.
He recognized it was now pointless to allow the snake in front of him to demonstrate any further powers, since the first had been incapacitated before she could accomplish anything of note.
Gojo flash-stepped, vanishing instantly from view just as he had demonstrated earlier, but this time, Hancock was barely able to follow his movement, unlike the first time.
"How the hell is he possessed of such speed?" She cursed inwardly, realizing with dread that Marigold would be utterly incapable of dodging or countering the impending blow, as she was definitively slower than him, even with the aid of her Observation Haki.
Thud!
He punched her squarely in the abdomen; blood spurted violently from her mouth and nose, her eyeballs rolling back to white as she lost consciousness immediately, her body flying meters backwards before crashing with finality into the solid arena wall.
"Weaklings," he chuckled derisively, pointing a triumphant finger directly at Boa Hancock with an infuriating grin.
