Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 Alex Pov :

Alex POV

I was completely insane to touch her like that — in the middle of the cafeteria at Tasty Company.

Okay, it was empty. We were alone.

Still, I should've controlled myself.

But the moment I saw her again at my restaurant, something inside me snapped. I had missed her far more than I wanted to admit.

Bethany Kelman.

Brave. Bold. And dangerously irresistible.

Cheat on her? Never.

Elena had always been chasing me, constantly clinging, always invading my space. That stupid moment when she hugged me and someone took a photo — that was what ruined everything. If that picture had never been sent to Betha, maybe I'd still be with her now.

But fine.

I'd win her back. No matter what.

I lifted my head and noticed Coccette deep in conversation about work, completely oblivious to the fact that Betha's cheeks were still flushed, her breathing uneven after our… encounter.

I chuckled.

Coccette turned toward me.

"Did I say something wrong? We need to start marketing the pizza soon — in universities and outside too."

Betha brushed her hair behind her ear, shooting me a warning glare.

"No, he's not laughing at you, Coccette."

Innocent as ever, Coccette tilted her head.

"Then why? Anyway, how should we handle the marketing? Social media?"

A new voice suddenly interrupted from behind her.

"Or with a celebrity. With nathalie sterling it will be Much faster."

We all turned.

Alaric.

And damn — of course it had to be him.

The same guy who had winked at Betha earlier.

I narrowed my eyes. One, I hated competition. Two, I was a jealous man.

Coccette's cheeks turned pink — probably because the bastard was ridiculously handsome with those sharp features and striking blue eyes.

She crossed her arms.

"Stop talking nonsense. We don't even know Nathalie Sterling in person, let alone how to contact her."

Alaric leaned forward, resting his hand on the table, bringing his face dangerously close to hers.

"Well, I do, foxy."

Coccette rolled her eyes.

"And what? You'll help the enemy team?"

While they argued, I glanced sideways at Betha.

She was staring at him. Smiling. One hand resting lightly against her cheek.

Oh hell no.

Betha, I know you like handsome men, but I'm right here. I can cook. I'm hot. And — did I mention I can cook?

That's supposed to be attractive, right?!

Alaric suddenly raised his voice.

"Of course I'll help you."

And then — the bastard touched Coccette's hair.

Betha smiled even wider.

I elbowed her lightly.

She blinked. "What?"

"Stop undressing him with your eyes."

She whispered, "Was it that obvious?"

I nodded.

She smirked. "Jealous?"

"No. Not at all."

Liar.

Coccette pulled us back into the conversation.

"You really want to help us? And what do you want in return?"

Alaric's lips curved into a slow smirk.

"I want to join your little team."

Coccette stared at him. "But you're Frost's manager. You can't—"

"I can help you without him knowing," he interrupted smoothly. "So, want me to contact Nathalie Sterling for you?"

Coccette looked at us, silently asking for approval.

Betha shot up from her seat.

"Yes! Absolutely! I love Nathalie Sterling — she's an incredible actress and model!"

I shrugged.

"Why not?"

Because honestly, having Nathalie Sterling promote our frozen pizza wouldn't just help us win best university food — it would explode our popularity.

Coccette finally nodded.

"Alright. Deal. Welcome to the team."

Alaric leaned in close, whispering something into her ear.

Her entire face turned crimson.

What the hell did he just say to her?
