Gamma, who had the same problem of not growing tall as the Fullmetal Alchemist, after scoffing at the Tech-priest for not understanding romance, took out a large "soda can" from behind him.
He pressed a few buttons on the control panel on his forearm, and the silver-gray "liquid" that had been stuck to the target immediately disintegrated into a cloud of mist and flew into the "soda can".
This time, Ed and the others looked on with envy; this was a metal nanorobot made by Gamma based on the nanotechnology he had mastered, different from medical nanorobots.
Medical nanorobots use biomimetic materials that can be absorbed and assimilated by the human body, and can only operate within a medical bay, requiring an energy field within the medical bay to provide energy; once they leave the energy field, they lose power.
The nanorobots made by Gamma use metallic materials that can store energy, and each charge can last for about an hour.
Their "nest" is the charging device—a large soda can—and the control device is the control panel on his forearm.
Using them to perform "alchemy" has no harm, but if Gamma activates the "slaughter protocol," they will decompose the human body, or any object with a lower overall material hardness than themselves, into powder of the same size as them.
Once Gamma conquers "self-replication" and "self-charging" someday, then the Assassin Court…
After showing off his Masterpiece, Gamma called Louis and the others to his laboratory.
He had prepared a secret weapon for each of his companions; in warhammer, you can never have too many secret weapons.
Everyone had changed quite a bit in the past ten years.
Jacob had made considerable progress on the path of a Tech-Wizard, and he was indispensable in the discovery of the Chaos remnants over the years.
Leia and Louis both embarked on the path of genetics, but their academic focuses were different; Leia followed the path of a Gene Magos, and would become a genetics expert in the future, while Louis preferred to study alien creatures, and would become an Alien Magos in the future.
Ed continued his original academic direction, becoming a Logician, integrating the roles of analyst, statistician, and logistics expert, predicting future trends by analyzing data.
Paul chose to become a Fabricator, also known as a Builder, and would be responsible for mechanical design, architectural design, and the design and construction of weapons, spacecraft, and so on in the future.
No introduction is needed for Gamma; he knows everything and is now a veritable Magos, with an academic level that far surpasses Archmagos Will, which also led to Archmagos Will never mentioning any technology-related topics in front of Gamma again after one of his sudden whims to tutor his son.
According to rumors, Archmagos Will would often inexplicably mutter, "It shouldn't be!" for a period of time.
As Gamma taught Jacob and the others how to operate the nanomachines he named "Gray Mist," he chatted with them about his recent plans and how he intended to transform the underground space in the future.
He planned for it to provide a portion of food security while also offering a relaxing ecological park for the people living on Thedan.
While the few of them were chatting and laughing, envisioning the future together, Thedan's supreme leader, Archmagos Will, was currently poring over an ancient book, an ancient text from Macragge titled "The Chronicle of Macragge's Emperors."
Updates are not easy, remember to share 101kanshu.com
The events recorded in the book occurred much earlier than Lord Regent Guilliman's arrival on Macragge, even before the era of the Twin Kings' rule; it was a story from the Macragge Imperial era, a story of emperors.
Why Archmagos Will was reading this book was because he found his current predicament strikingly similar to that of the emperors in the book—what to do when ministers want a more popular, more capable, and younger son to ascend to the throne!
Archmagos Will: I don't want to abdicate yet!
Archmagos Will felt he was still young; his grandmaster, Archmagos Cawl, lived for over ten thousand years, so even with discounts upon discounts, he could live for another thousand or eight hundred years.
His life had just passed its halfway point, he was in his prime; why should he abdicate?
Which Fabricator-General doesn't abdicate only before he dies? These "rebellious subjects and traitors" want him to abdicate now!
Is there still justice? Is there still law?
He now deeply understood a certain emperor's words to his deposed crown prince in this chronicle of emperors:
"Whether you want to rebel or not is not important; whether you have the ability to rebel is what matters!"
Does Gamma have the ability? Yes, absolutely!
So much so that even if he doesn't want to, people will push him to do it!
"My son, how should I deal with you?" Archmagos Will muttered to himself, troubled.
Archmagos Will had his family send this ancient book from their collection precisely to seek the wisdom of the ancients and find a way to resolve the conflict between him and Gamma.
After repeatedly reading it, Archmagos Will found that the emperors in the book merely had a similar predicament to his, but if he were to use their methods of dealing with their sons to deal with Gamma, Archmagos Will would dare to do it, and Gamma wouldn't even need to rebel.
Someone would pull him down from the position of Fabricator-General for Gamma, and the possibility of him dying was not non-existent.
The reason was that the sons of these emperors were not excellent enough, not capable enough, while Gamma was truly too capable!
If someone had told Archmagos Will ten years ago that Thedan would be 20% stronger in ten years, even without a war, Archmagos Will would have welded that liar to the production line, punishing him for the crime of mocking a Archmagos.
If Thedan had that much potential to exploit, he would have done it long ago.
But the reality is that Gamma achieved it, and he did it even when Thedan was reduced to a wasteland.
He even had time to create Thedan's signature products, and relying on these highly profitable, exclusive products, he not only fed the insatiably greedy Tech-Magos and the increasingly lazy and demanding Tech-priest, but he also fed the slave laborers on Thedan.
After allowing the slave laborers to live lives with compensation, education, and medical care, Gamma was still not satisfied.
He even wanted to transform the underground space into a paradise-like environment, so that everyone on Thedan could go on vacation.
"Omnissiah, this is a Forge World!" Archmagos Will muttered again, troubled.
Archmagos Will's troubles didn't just come from within; he was Lord Regent Guilliman's loyal servant, one of the people who understood Lord Regent Guilliman best.
He knew the Regent's ideals and understood the meaning of the Regent's phrase: "Create a future worthy of humanity."
If Lord Regent Guilliman knew what Gamma had done, Archmagos Will felt that the Regent might also politely advise him to quickly abdicate and become an advisor by his side, which would also be very honorable and fulfilling!
Ventris had returned three years ago, and by now, he should be nearing the Regent.
The Space Marines left with the thank-you gifts Gamma had prepared for them.
Ventris didn't reveal what the gifts were, but his mouth, almost splitting to his ears, told everyone that he was very satisfied with the gift!
As for Mars, how should one put it? His relationship with Archmagos Will was not good, but his relationship with Thedan was quite good now.
All the changes occurred after Gamma proactively presented Mars with several lost technologies; Mars's attitude towards Thedan underwent a 180-degree turn.
Not only did they lift the secret blockade on Thedan, but they also ignored Thedan's new technologies.
After sending people to investigate, they returned with falsified and watered-down technical data for approval, and Archmagos Will recently received notification that the approval had passed.
"Gamma, how many benefits did you give the special envoy to make him work so hard!" Archmagos Will muttered again, troubled.
Archmagos Will was caught in a situation of internal and external difficulties; how should he break the deadlock?
The world was changing too fast for him, a vigorous Archmagos only a thousand years old.
Archmagos Will always felt like the days of him sleeping with a nuclear bomb happened just yesterday, but how did everything change after he woke up?
"Bang bang bang!"
A knock on the door pulled Archmagos Will's thoughts back to reality.
He knew who was outside the door; it was his loyal friend, Magos Lauster.
He was the only Tech-Priest who would publicly refute those "rebellious subjects and traitors" who wanted Gamma to ascend to the throne.
Archmagos Will was quite moved by Magos Lauster's actions; there were still people who remembered his achievements as Fabricator-General Will, still people who remembered his contributions to Thedan, and still people who hadn't been bribed by that little brat Gamma.
"Come in."
"Archmagos, a new ship has arrived at the starport.
According to the information they submitted, it was ordered by you 60 years ago."
Magos Lauster went straight to the point after entering; he was now in charge of the most lucrative part of Thedan—the starport.
Archmagos Will cordially invited Magos Lauster to sit down.
For this only "loyal subject and good general" he had now, Archmagos Will did not stint on his kindness.
After personally pouring Magos Lauster a cup of Macragge's special coffee, he began to search his memories:
60 years ago, 60 years ago… Ah, yes, an exorcist-class super-heavy cruiser.
He did order one.
The Mechanicus Ark and the fleet had to guard Thedan and couldn't leave.
At that time, he wanted to form a small exploration team, which was why he ordered this ship.
The exorcist-class was capable of long-distance voyages without resupply, which perfectly met the requirement, no mistake.
Fortunately, Thedan had recovered now, otherwise even the final payment would have been delayed.
That little brat Gamma finally did something… an exploration team… Gamma… an exploration team!
Ah ha ha ha, how wonderful, how splendid, son, Daddy has prepared a new gift for you!
Magos Lauster looked at the Fabricator-General who was cackling, feeling a little unnerved.
He just said that those people were too impatient, wanting to pull Archmagos Will down and make him abdicate after only ten years.
If they had waited a few more years, given Archmagos Will some more time to adapt, and allowed Gamma to mature a bit more—he meant mentally mature—then they could talk about Archmagos Will retiring.
Now, the Fabricator-General had gone mad; how was this going to end!
Gamma received a new gift, a space battleship that belonged to him. After hearing the news from the Archmagos, he immediately pulled Leia and the others to the spaceport to pick up the ship.
The "exorcist" class super-heavy cruiser has a length of 7.3 kilometers and a fin length of 1.1 kilometers.
Its weight is approximately 37 million tons.
Its crew numbers approximately 112,000.
A length of 7.3 kilometers exceeds the limit of normal human vision, meaning that even without any obstructions, a person standing at the bow still cannot see the stern. This is not a ship, but a city flying in space.
Its massive size means that even when it is suspended in orbit around Thedan, people on the ground can still see its silhouette.
Gamma had now excitedly rushed into his future ride. When he stepped out of the transfer shuttle, Archmagos Will was already waiting for him on the ship's landing deck.
Upon seeing Gamma, the Archmagos said with a loving tone, "My son, do you like this gift?"
"I love it! Thank you, Father." Having received the gift, Gamma learned to express his gratitude with respectful language.
"Hahaha, as long as you like it. Come, let me show you around your ship."
"Okay, I can't wait."
The feeling of being on one's own ship is completely different from being on someone else's. Over the years, Gamma had often visited the Archmagos's Mechanical Ark, and almost every time he would sourly point out a bunch of flaws. He had stolen no small amount of technology, but Thedan's shipbuilding level had never improved. Even now, they could only produce small vessels like "Imperial Transports" and "Armed Freighters." These small vessels only started construction two years ago, and not a single one has left the factory yet.
He had wanted to order one from another Forge World, but he didn't care for the small ones, and the large ones had too long a construction cycle.
He also had many other matters, so it was delayed. This was one of the few things that had bothered Gamma in recent years. Now it was good; the Archmagos had given him such a big, new ship. How could he not be happy?
The Archmagos looked at Gamma, who was surrounding him and speaking auspicious words, and his sense of guilt grew heavier, but he still decided to follow the original plan. Long pain is worse than short pain; he really didn't want to abdicate!
Having made up his mind, Archmagos Will began to shift the topic to the original purpose of ordering this ship, interspersing a few small adventure stories. Gamma, as expected, took the bait, and his eyes began to light up.
And Archmagos Will, seeing that the fish was about to bite, promptly stopped talking. Making it too obvious would alert Gamma, this "clever fish," and it would be bad if he got away.
After touring his ship, Gamma felt stifled for a while afterward. When he didn't have a ship, he wanted one, but once he had one, it could only sit in the spaceport, exposed to cosmic rays. Wouldn't that make his spaceship useless?
"I'm going on an adventure!" Gamma, who couldn't stay put, finally told Jacob and the others.
"I'm going on an adventure!" Gamma repeated.
Jacob and the others looked at each other. They could understand Gamma's thoughts; they wanted to as well. But going out meant that everything they currently possessed would change, and their predetermined future would also change with it. They were all struggling with whether it was worth it to do so.
"I'm going on an adventure!" Gamma said for the third time, and this time, someone responded.
"Wherever the boss goes, I go," Paul replied.
With someone taking the lead, the others, who had been hesitant, no longer wavered and also expressed their attitudes.
"Let's go, I've been here long enough!"
"Agreed, I've had enough too!"
"There are too many ruins in the galaxy waiting for us to explore!"
"And even more technology and samples!"
Archmagos Will: An overt scheme with no solution!
Gamma's decision to go on an adventure quickly spread throughout Thedan. The Tech-priest, who were eager to promote him, reacted unanimously upon hearing the news:
How foolish! His Royal Highness must not fall for that old Will's cunning scheme!
They formed groups and went to Gamma's door to persuade him to retract his decision. Annoyed, Gamma had no choice but to seal off his laboratory and refuse all visitors.
Seeing that persuasion was fruitless, the extremists among them planned to "crown" Gamma, but Archmagos Will, who had been on guard, secretly sabotaged them, causing them to be exposed prematurely. They were discovered and apprehended by the Supervisory Department. The evidence was conclusive. Although the supervisors were also "anti-Will," they couldn't show favoritism given the circumstances. In the end, they were charged with "illegal assembly" and imprisoned for a period to silence the "parties involved."
The party involved, Archmagos Will, was furious when he heard the news. How could a bunch of rebellious traitors who wanted him dead be convicted of disturbing public order? The charge of "illegal assembly" not only silenced the Archmagos but also clearly told him: Archmagos, we advise you to leave gracefully! His inability to do so filled the Archmagos with sorrow. Must he really abdicate?!
Just as the Archmagos was despairing and about to resign himself to fate, preparing to become an advisor to the Regent, Gamma came to him with a storage device. Inside was his future plan for Thedan, covering all aspects of Thedan. If the plan was followed, as long as no irresistible enemy appeared, Thedan would become one of the most prominent Forge Worlds in the Imperium of Man within the next 300 years.
The Archmagos was overjoyed when he received the plan. Gamma was indeed his good son, following his own strong will. He treated outside interference as nothing. The only downside was that he was a bit "soft-hearted," not allowing him to retaliate against those rebellious traitors. This "small matter" couldn't go his way, which was not "filial" at all.
After being given a few eye-rolls by Gamma, the Archmagos had a change of heart. He thought, how similar this situation was to when he adopted Gamma and incorporated the engineers years ago. Loyalty is good!
Gamma was not a fool. His presence was everywhere in the reconstruction of Thedan. Gamma knew what the Tech-priest were thinking and what they wanted to do, even without asking, because people would tell him. But he had no interest in the Fabricator-General's chair.
He had even less interest in dealing with nobles, merchants, and the like. Time can change anyone or anything. These ten years had made Gamma increasingly interested in technology and science. He was now understanding the Tech-priest more and more.
Having made his decision, Gamma began to prepare for his journey. The preparation time would be relatively long because his "exorcist," although built in the style of the Adeptus Mechanicus and more in line with his requirements than similar Imperial Navy ships, still did not satisfy Gamma. So he planned to modify his ride.
He had to modify it. The design philosophy of warhammer space vessels was simply too barbaric; Gamma found it unbearable to use.
For example: using "space oarsmen" for weapon systems; life support systems that add hallucinogens and sedatives to water and air, the purpose of the drugs being to allow crew members to endure terrible working conditions; and food recycling systems that reuse organic matter. Gamma couldn't control how other people's ships operated, but his ship would absolutely not allow such things. He couldn't achieve the fearless self-sacrifice of Ventris, but he could still "maintain his own integrity when poor, and help others when prosperous."
Gamma requested the use of the shipyard from the Archmagos. Archmagos Will naturally wouldn't refuse. He was most afraid of Gamma suddenly changing his mind. The small profit from the shipyard was insignificant compared to what Gamma had left him.
After locking himself in the laboratory for a month, Gamma finally produced a ship modification design plan that required ongoing adjustments to details. The reason for the slowness was that the complexity of such a large vessel was beyond imagination.
As a whole, any change could trigger a chain reaction, leading to unpredictable consequences.
The "exorcist" modification project lasted a full three years. Now, the ship's appearance and structural changes are minor, but the interior is completely different from before. More powerful plasma engines give it faster maneuverability; enhanced support field generators make its structure more resistant to damage upon impact.
The improved life support system has better purification and circulation capabilities. The specially designed material circulation system can not only produce synthetic starch but also sugars, artificial meat, medicines, and other daily necessities.
This system was designed by Gamma after improving and integrating related technologies such as "microbial decomposition," "protein bioreactors," and "elemental refining." With this system, Gamma's ship is a self-sufficient small world. In addition, he also specially allocated a small area to build an ecological garden, which can provide fresh fruits and relaxation and entertainment.
In addition to more stable multi-layered void shields, ion shields, and Gellar fields for the defense system, Gamma installed fully automatic close-in weapons on the outside of the ship. The machine spirit of these weapons is already on the edge of the "Red Protocol." All internal passages of the ship also conceal Gamma's "Gray Mist 2.0." Anyone or anything attempting to board will receive a surprise prepared by Gamma!
Gamma discarded the "macro cannons" from the "exorcist's" original weapon system. He really couldn't understand the purpose of these large, solid-projectile weapons. Even if they could use various types of shells like plasma rounds, Gamma didn't plan to engage in close-quarters space combat with enemies, and the multi-story ammunition storage occupied too much space.
The spacious hangar was also discarded by Gamma. The space saved from the hangar and macro cannons was used by Gamma to place unmanned production lines throughout the ship, allowing Gamma's ship to produce various weapons and equipment anytime, anywhere.
For offensive weapons, Gamma chose to install a Nova Cannon at the bow. Although it also uses solid projectiles and the ammunition volume is even larger, the Nova Cannon can accelerate ammunition to near light speed, and the damage radius after explosion reaches 10,000 kilometers, making it a strategic weapon capable of planetary annihilation with a single shot.
Normal weapons include lance weapons and torpedoes. However, Gamma's torpedo launch system was improved using the "gravity turbine" technology he learned from the Nova Cannon. This accelerated launch system can propel torpedoes to sub-light speeds, and combined with the torpedo's own guidance capabilities, it can achieve ultra-long-range attacks.
In summary, this exploration vessel, named "Gear Boy" by Gamma, is fast, strikes from afar, has strong defenses, high production capacity, and is comfortable to live in.
After receiving his ten-year physical examination data, Magos Gamma, in a fit of self-abandonment, wanted to name the ship "Legal Shota," but then reconsidered, thinking he couldn't "curse himself" so maliciously. So, he changed his mind again and renamed it "Gear Boy," which earned him no small amount of complaints.
But Magos Gamma stubbornly insisted, telling the Tech-priest that this was an enlightenment given to him by the Omnissiah in a dream.
The Tech-priest only gave up after being told not to discuss it with the Omnissiah.
After the "Gear Boy" was completed, Magos Gamma held a "launching ceremony" for its maiden voyage, inviting everyone he knew to come and see his ship.
Led by Magos Gamma, everyone took a general tour of this "newly refurbished" exploration vessel and universally declared it an excellent ship, stating that Archmagos Will's Mechanical Ark, apart from its size, was utterly useless compared to the "Gear Boy."
Regarding this blatant act of mockery, the Archmagos's mechanical cochlea seemed to malfunction, as he appeared even happier than Magos Gamma throughout the entire event.
On one hand, it was because Magos Gamma was about to set sail very soon, and on the other hand, it was due to the opportunity provided by the modification of the "Shota" that Thedan's shipbuilding capabilities had greatly improved.
Now, they were capable of constructing cruisers like "Lunar-class" and "Tyrant-class," and in the future, once Magos Gamma's plans were completed, battleships like the "Mechanical Ark" and "Emperor-class" could also be produced.
How could Archmagos Will not be pleased? In the future, apart from Magos Gamma, Lord Regent Guilliman, Archmagos Cawl, and his misleading mentor, who would dare speak loudly to him? Even the Forge General of Mars would have to give him some respect.
With the ship ready, the next step was to quickly familiarize the recruited crew with the "Gear Boy." Fortunately, Magos Gamma's crew recruitment had proceeded simultaneously with the ship's modification. He had the data provided by Archmagos Will, so he knew exactly what personnel were needed.
This information once again made Magos Gamma realize how low the bottom line of these Tech-priest was. Even Archmagos Will, who had a good reputation outside the Adeptus Mechanicus circles, had engaged in unspeakable acts like forcibly seizing goods from passing merchants or directly plundering some feral worlds when he was still flying around the galaxy "doing business."
This also made Magos Gamma understand that to wander the galaxy, military strength was essential and most important. Among the personnel configurations for the "Gear Boy," armed personnel were the most crucial. Coincidentally, every Tech-Priest knew a thing or two, so this aspect of staffing was very easy to fulfill.
Besides armed personnel, the second most needed were "indentured laborers" responsible for heavy physical work, which the "Gear Boy" did not require; it did not need space haulers to pull its ammunition, as it would load itself.
Magos Gamma calculated that, except for "Navigators," all other tasks on the Gear Boy could be handled by Tech-priest, and they would be very willing to do so, because the technology embodied in the ship itself was a huge treasure for lower-ranking Tech-priest.
However, bringing 100,000 Tech-priest at once was simply unrealistic for Thedan. If Magos Gamma hadn't liberated the workers, the current number of Tech-priest on Thedan multiplied by ten wouldn't be enough, and the Gear Boy didn't need that many people anyway; 50,000 would be about right.
Magos Gamma and Yard, along with Archmagos Will and others, discussed for a long time and finally decided to take one Tech-Priest and forty thousand apprentices. One Tech-Priest would lead four apprentices, allowing them to explore and train apprentices along the way.
After finalizing the personnel list, they all moved onto the ship and, under Magos Gamma's command, began to wander around the Thedan Star System, familiarizing themselves with shipboard life while waiting for the Navigator and Astropath that Archmagos Will was finding for him.
Half a year passed in a flash. During this time, Magos Gamma rectified some minor issues discovered during the Gear Boy's voyages, making it even more perfect. Now it was time for Magos Gamma and his crew to set sail; the Navigator and Astropath had arrived!
Magos Gamma still highly valued the "human compasses" and "human communicators," as the lives of everyone on board were in their hands. He had prepared a welcoming banquet well in advance and even specially dressed himself to appear more mature, then waited with Leia and the others for the distinguished guests to arrive.
As a transport shuttle arrived at the landing pad, Archmagos Will appeared first, followed by a group of people. From their attire, one could distinguish who was a Navigator and who was an Astropath.
Calliree, as a member of a Navigator family, was dispatched by her family to the Thedan Forge World to serve Archmagos Will. Only excellent offspring with pure bloodlines like her were deemed worthy of working for such a prominent figure.
Before departing, Calliree had memorized all of Archmagos Will's information to ensure she would not show any disrespect in front of the Archmagos, as the family's honor could not be stained.
But when she truly arrived at Thedan, the Archmagos then told her that the object of her service was actually the Archmagos's son. Calliree's only reaction upon hearing this news was to kneel and pray to the Emperor, begging the great Emperor to protect her soul, as evil demons had already set their sights on her soul.
How could an Adeptus Mechanicus Archmagos have the ability to create a "son"? Everything was an illusion shown to her by demons!
She was not the only one who did this at the scene; it also included the Astropath Choir who came with her. The result was that everyone, including the Archmagos, was quite embarrassed, and everyone tacitly agreed to pretend that this incident had never happened.
Then, led by the Archmagos, they arrived at the ship of the one named "Magos Gamma." Calliree was observing as she stepped out of the transport shuttle. She wanted to take the initiative; she wanted to correct her mistake; she wanted to erase the bad impression she had given the Archmagos.
After identifying her target, Calliree quickly stepped forward, approached Magos Gamma, bowed, and greeted him, saying, "It is an honor to serve you, esteemed Magos Gamma!"
"Uh—that—"
It seemed that this Magos Gamma was not good at communication, unlike his father. Calliree concluded this from Magos Gamma's reaction, which also fit her impression of Tech-priest: strange and difficult to communicate with, always immersed in their own research.
"My name is Calliree Zacharias."
"Oh, hello, I'm Jacob," the honest Jacob replied.
"Very—ah!" Calliree exclaimed.
"Ahem, Magos Gamma is here!"
Calliree looked down at the sound and saw a "dwarf," a child-like dwarf. She heard this child-dwarf speak:
"I am Magos Gamma, and it is also an honor to meet you, Miss Calliree."
Although a bit displeased, Magos Gamma was already accustomed to strangers' reactions upon seeing him. He wanted to say something more to ease the awkward atmosphere, but he noticed that Miss Calliree the Navigator's reaction was off. Why were her pupils dilated?
"Miss Calliree? Miss Calliree?"
"Hmm? Hiss! Doctor! Leia, come quickly, the Navigator has fainted!"
The meticulously prepared welcoming banquet ended abruptly, and all the valuable food ended up benefiting the apprentices who served as waiters. After Calliree was revived by Leia, she claimed to be unwell from the journey and needed rest, so she took her servants and guards and plunged into the Navigator Hall.
After Yard, the leader of the Astropath Choir, had an awkward chat with Magos Gamma for a few moments, he also led his people into the Astropath Hall.
"If I had known this, why did I go to all this trouble!" Magos Gamma grumbled, sitting on his mechanical throne, complaining to Jacob and the others.
The few people opposite him stifled their laughter, unsure how to comfort Magos Gamma. Archmagos Will stood beside Magos Gamma; he also didn't know whose fault it was that such a thing happened. Should he blame his son for having a long life?
Despite his vexation, Magos Gamma still hosted another banquet for Calliree and Yard in the following days, which finally restored their relationship with Magos Gamma to normal.
At the same time, Calliree and Yard began to use various means to inquire about Magos Gamma. They then discovered that this "crown prince" had extremely high prestige on Thedan, and Archmagos Will was now a nominal leader, just waiting for his son to go on an adventure so he could take over his son's inheritance.
After repeatedly confirming that the news was true, they all felt that reality could be even more fantastical than the Warp, and they all knew that following this Magos Gamma would bring great benefits!
"Finally setting sail! Thedan now belongs to me, hahahaha—"
Watching the Gear Boy depart from the spaceport and head towards the Mandeville Point of the Thedan Star System, Archmagos Will couldn't help but let out a triumphant laugh, which made the "Anti-Will faction" present grit their teeth. They decided to fight this old man Will to the end until Thedan welcomed back its true master.
Magos Gamma's first long-distance mission was to deliver weapons to the front line. He hadn't decided where to go yet, but coincidentally, the Far East Joint Command had an urgent batch of weapons that needed to be delivered, so he took the job, planning to figure things out along the way.
However, Magos Gamma was not in the mood to think about that problem right now. He was currently sitting on his mechanical throne, squirming uncomfortably, because standing beside the throne was the person he feared most—Magos Lauster.
He never expected it. He had thought the sky was vast for birds to fly and the sea wide for fish to leap; he could do whatever he wanted freely from now on. Who would have thought that just before the Gear Boy set sail, Magos Lauster would arrive with his belongings, intending to join Magos Gamma and his crew on their adventure?
Magos Gamma was inwardly against it, but he didn't dare refuse. He wasn't afraid of Archmagos Will, but he was afraid of Magos Lauster. Magos Gamma had a psychological shadow regarding Magos Lauster.
Now, this shadow was meticulously explaining the relevant intelligence for this mission to Magos Gamma, concisely and with sharp eyes, making Magos Gamma very uncomfortable.
"Don't squirm. Always remember your identity!"
"Oh," Magos Gamma replied, straightening his posture.
"You must maintain your authority within the exploration team; every word and action in daily life must be carefully considered!"
"Oh," Magos Gamma's eyes sharpened.
"What do you think of the intelligence I just told you?"
"Oh," Magos Gamma uttered an "oh."
"Hmm?"
"Oh, the Oener Star System is at war, and we need to deliver weapons to the front lines to drive away those blue-skinned xenos."
The establishment of the Far East Military District was to curb the ever-expanding Titan Empire. From its inception, humanity prepared to annihilate these noseless blue-skinned xenos, and Thedan was also established to enhance the Far East Military District's armaments.
Two centuries passed in a flash, and the time was ripe. Billions of troops were ready to depart, and the Imperium of Man's war engine began to roar in the Far East.
The Anti-Xenos Crusade began!
This timing coincided roughly with the implantation of the embryo, codenamed "Gamma," into a steel womb.
But just as the "Anti-Xenos Crusade" was in full swing, Thedan then, the T'au said: "Yoshi, from now on, the offense and defense have shifted. Where man can go, I can also go!"
If Gamma had not enabled Thedan to resume production in a short time, the "Anti-Xenos Crusade" might have already devolved into chaos. Now, with logistics re-established, the crusade forces and the Titan Empire are locked in a stalemate, fighting a messy battle.
"I think I'll stay in the Ouner Star System for a while," Gamma said to his companion, lounging in a chair and eating "watermelon."
Louis, munching on a "peach," swallowed the fruit pulp and asked, "Why the sudden change of heart?"
"I've encountered some problems with my research recently, and the T'au happen to have technology that interests me."
"Oh, I see. Then just stay for a while."
Calliree, the three-eyed, and Yard, the one-eyed, who were also invited to Gamma's "Fruit Feast," listened to Gamma's very "politically incorrect" remarks with strange expressions. Everyone else, however, was already used to it; they all knew that Gamma was never particular about technology.
Even when he was still at Thedan, some people advised Gamma not to research xenos technology, but each time he retorted with conviction:
"What kind of technology do xenos have? These are all technological achievements they plagiarized from humanity's Golden Age. Could it be that the Omnissiah has blessed xenos? All I am doing is restoring the original appearance of the technology. Which part is not a standard component produced according to standard STC?"
The technological creations that Gamma "restored" indeed showed no hint of xenos style, so everyone let him be, especially since these "human technologies" were genuinely useful.
"These Ancient Terra fruits taste really good. Gamma, later, lend me that data as well."
Gamma glared at the Tech-priest Girl who was eating and taking, and even wanted to take the whole pot, and said grumpily, "Fine!"
These fruits were all created by Gamma using genetic technology, one of his nostalgic works. Others included peaches, pears, apricots, and so on. He claimed that they were restored from Ancient Terra plant data he accidentally acquired. The lie was already out, and he had to fabricate a "Ancient Terra Plant Data" to cover it up. It would be strange if he were happy.
The Gear Boy was currently traveling at sub-light speed towards its destination. The journey was smoother than Gamma had anticipated. He had expected some ignorant demons to give him a change of pace, but it had been peaceful the entire way. Even Yard, the psyker, said that on Gamma's ship, he heard fewer whispers than on other ships. When this reached the ears of the Tech-priest, they began to form groups and kowtow to Gamma's improved Geller Field generator.
After the final jump out of the Warp, the latest news indicated that the intensity of the battlefield in the Ouner Star System was much higher than the intelligence Gamma and his crew had received before their departure. Both humanity and the Titan Empire were sending more forces there.
If merchant ships or similar vessels were to sail to the Ouner Star System now, they might be requisitioned and drawn into the war against the Titan Empire. However, Gamma had no such worries. They were an exploration ship of the Tech-priest. No one had the right to impede a Priest of the Omnissiah from seeking lost technology, unless the Tech-Priest voluntarily joined.
Gamma was making a name for himself now. When the Gear Boy reached the outskirts of the Ouner Star System and their identity was verified, they received a flood of communications, all with similar content, thanking Gamma for delivering the weapons and ammunition they needed.
Under the escort of several warships, the Gear Boy successfully docked at the spaceport controlled by the Imperium. When Gamma stepped out of the hatch, he saw Space Marine lined up to welcome him. Besides the Space Marine, he also saw Battle Sisters, Imperial Navy, and Astra Militarum. The welcoming ceremony was grand, so grand that it scared him into retreating back inside.
Gamma: ((((A)))) Such a grand display! I'm just here to deliver goods.
"Ouch!"
"Hurry up and go out!"
"Oh—"
Gamma, who had been slapped on the back of the head by Magos Lauster, was forced by Magos Lauster's increasingly abnormal gaze to steel himself and walk out again, adopting the solemnity expected of the owner of an Adeptus Mechanicus exploration vessel, stepping down the flower-strewn ramp, one step at a time.
Ever since Magos Lauster boarded the Gear Boy, Gamma felt as if he were an ancient "Grand Tutor to the Crown Prince," speaking of himself as an "old minister" but holding a "teaching whip." He wanted to train Gamma into his ideal "enlightened ruler," to make Gamma the most Tech-Priest of all Tech-priest.
Magos! How did you come to have such a damned sense of mission! Gamma cried out to the heavens in his heart.
A certain Tech-priest Girl: Father, I'm telling you, Gamma might be the Omnissiah in its infancy. I have evidence!
"Uh, I am Gamma," Gamma said dryly to the representatives of various factions who were welcoming him.
These Tech-priest' rejuvenation techniques can already make them return to their youth!?
The leading general, having been through many battles and fought against all sorts of monsters, showed no unusual expression and said:
"Welcome, Magos Gamma. We are extremely grateful that you have gone to such trouble to deliver the weapons."
"It's nothing, it's nothing."
Gamma turned and cast a pleading look at Magos Lauster behind him. He wanted to go back to the laboratory. The laboratory was where a Tech-Priest should be. Magos Lauster saw Gamma's unpromising demeanor and deeply felt the difficulty of instructing a "qualified Omnissiah," but he still had to help Gamma save face. The "Omnissiah" must not be stained before he matures!
"Magos Gamma heard that the war in the Ouner Star System was urgent, and therefore led his exploration ship here specifically," Magos Lauster explained to the high-ranking commanders.
"Many thanks."
The people present, hearing that Gamma had made this trip specifically for them, their expressions became more natural,
No longer as official and rigid as before. A Tech-Priest who actively contributes to the Imperium is a good Tech-Priest in their hearts.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Gamma attended his first ever welcoming banquet. As the guest of honor,
Gamma naturally became the focus of everyone's attention, and they began to gather information about him through various channels.
Through the network of Tech-priest attached to the military, the high-ranking commanders on the Ouner Star System battlefield all knew that this "Little Magos Gamma" was the biological son of Archmagos Will.
After this news was confirmed by Magos Gamma himself, besides lamenting, "The world is degenerating, and people's hearts are no longer what they used to be," and that the Tech-priest were also being influenced by the Imperial atmosphere and starting to have "second-generation Tech-priest," they all showed goodwill towards Gamma. Opportunities to connect with the Fabricator-General were rare, and this "Little Magos" absolutely could not be missed.
Even the Battle Sister Miss circled Magos Gamma like a colorful butterfly, enchanting Gamma, who had never experienced such things, until he was completely dazed. He only came to his senses after a flick on the forehead from the "Oil Girl."
"Damn it, you green maggots, I will never rest until I have my revenge!" Gamma swore at the starry sky after the banquet.
However, Gamma didn't do nothing at the banquet. He expressed his desire to stay in the Ouner Star System for a period to help the Imperium fight the xenos. However, his exploration ship had just been established and was on its first voyage, and coordination in all aspects was still unfamiliar, so it couldn't participate in direct combat. But his ship had some production capability and could provide weapon supplies to the allied forces.
The high command of the allied forces, hearing of such a good thing, were naturally delighted. They had originally thought Gamma would leave after delivering the goods. Now, hearing that Gamma was willing to stay and help them, they naturally had no reason to refuse. They all stated that they would absolutely not let Gamma suffer any losses and even reserved a berth for Gamma at the spaceport, allowing Gamma to set up his "shop" there.
The Gear Boy exploration ship was also temporarily renamed "Gamma Arms Supermarket" by Gamma, and thus, a generation's King of War was born!
"These damned traitors!"
After crushing the last traitor who attempted to plant a bomb, Aun stomped on the still twitching head of the corpse beneath his foot. Today was his day to be on duty at the spaceport. These humans were traitors who had sided with the xenos; they had been trained as agents by the T'au, attempting to use their human appearance to infiltrate the spaceport via merchant ships and seize the opportunity to sabotage the Imperium's logistical supplies.
The spaceport, this crucial platform, could be said to be the main artery of the Ouner Star System war zone. Every day, new reinforcements arrived here, and every day, merchant ships and transport vessels unloaded war-sustaining provisions. Similarly, the enemy was constantly trying to sabotage it.
This is also why Space Marine stand guard at the spaceport; only their superhuman senses can first detect the flaws and clues left by traitors, and their nanosecond reaction speed allows them to kill traitors before they can even react.
Aun didn't like finding these rats in the spaceport; he preferred to slay xenos on the battlefield. Of course, it would be even better if he had a Power Sword instead of a Chainsword when cleaving xenos' heads.
As a Primaris Space Marine recruit, he had always longed for a suitable weapon. Although he knew that he was far from worthy of the sacred relics passed down by the Chapter, this did not hinder his desire to wield a Power Sword, wear an Iron Halo, and don Mark X Power Armor on the battlefield, slaying the Emperor's enemies. Whenever he thought of such a scene, his blood boiled with excitement.
Casually tossing aside the now completely dead traitor, Aun prepared to continue his patrol. He didn't like it,
But he understood the importance of this mission even more. As for the bodies here, mortals would come to clean them up. Today, a ship from the Adeptus Mechanicus docked in his patrol area, and to be safe, Aun decided to go and check it out.
"Set them up, neatly."
"A little to the left, too far! A little back."
"Yes, just like that."
Magos Gamma, who was giving orders, directed the apprentice driving the walker to place the exhibits he had selected in the proper positions.
Before coming to warhammer, Magos Gamma always had a small dream of opening a shop, but unfortunately, it didn't come true. Now, it could be considered a dream fulfilled in another world.
Looking at the various weapons and equipment on display, Magos Gamma always felt something was missing, but he just couldn't remember what it was, so he frowned and pondered deeply.
Leia and the others, who had been dragged out of the laboratory to be part of the atmosphere team, saw how dedicated he was, with flower baskets and carpets, and even personally adjusting the placement of each item, which they found quite incomprehensible.
"Magos Gamma, it's already very good. You should just let the apprentices handle such things. Why do you need to do this?" Ed advised.
In their eyes, Magos Gamma was currently very unprofessional. Wouldn't it be better to spend this time doing experiments in the laboratory?
Magos Gamma, whose small dream was being belittled by others, unhappily said to the Tech-priest:
"Do you know how many resources so many people on the ship consume daily? If you don't manage a household, you don't know how expensive oil is. I'll switch your food rations to starch sticks later!"
Ed shrugged at the others, and the rest also smiled helplessly. They knew Magos Gamma in this state too well. As long as he became interested in something, whoever tried to dissuade him would be reprimanded, and he could even come up with all sorts of grand reasons to prove he was right. Of course, these grand reasons sounded like Magos Gamma making excuses.
For example: the Gear Boy's own material collection function and material recycling system allowed them to be completely self-sufficient, without needing to purchase anything extra.
Updates are not easy, remember to share 101kanshu.com
It was useless to "advise" Magos Gamma in this state. Either wait for his interest to fade, or invite Magos Lauster. But Magos Lauster also approved of opening a shop, so no one could stop him.
"Oh, I remember now! Come, come, light up every exhibit. I knew something was missing."
While Magos Gamma was loudly arranging for the apprentices to light up and beautify the exhibits, Aun, who had been observing in the dark, decided to go to Magos Gamma's shop. He was about to do something that would harm his honor.
Let it be harmed, he would earn it back by chopping down a few more xenos later, Aun comforted himself mentally.
As soon as the Space Marine appeared, they were spotted by a sharp-eyed apprentice. The apprentice notified Magos Gamma while enthusiastically going to greet him. Magos Gamma said: whoever sells something gets a commission, and the commission can be exchanged for technology with him.
"Greetings, sir, is there anything you need?"
Aun, who was already feeling guilty because he only intended to look and touch, was greeted so warmly by the apprentice that he felt a sudden urge to turn and leave. But the "treasure" he had been longing for was right in front of him, within reach, and he couldn't bear to leave it.
"Uh—just looking, just looking."
"Sir, please feel free to say what you like. Our shop welcomes trying before buying."
"Good, good, this—." Aun ultimately couldn't finish his sentence due to shame.
But how could a discerning apprentice not see what the other party wanted? Ever since the Space Marine arrived, his eyes hadn't left the power sword. He struggled to take the sword down, but the weight of this sword was too heavy for a mortal. During the process of taking the sword, the tip and blade scraped against the adamantium display stand, making the Space Marine' eyelids twitch.
"Let me! Let me hold it!" Aun couldn't help but shout, gripping the hilt with one hand and lifting the sword.
The apprentice also breathed a sigh of relief. He was afraid of his hand slipping and the power sword falling, resulting in a work injury before he even started working. Seeing the Space Marine already examining the power sword in his hand, he quickly introduced it from the side:
"Sir, this power sword is a new type of power weapon designed and improved by Magos Gamma."
"New type?" Aun asked, confused, seeing no difference.
"Yes, sir. As someone who frequently uses power weapons, you should know the shortcomings of power weapons, and this power sword overcomes those shortcomings."
"Hmm—tell me, how does it overcome them?"
Aun: Sorry, I'm new, I haven't used it, I don't know—
The apprentice continued: "Conventional power weapons consume a huge amount of energy, and endurance has always been the biggest problem for power weapons. The higher the intensity of combat, the more frequently the disintegration field is activated, and the faster the energy is consumed. Once the power battery runs out of energy, a divine weapon that can cut through iron like mud immediately becomes an ordinary cold weapon."
The Space Marine had already imagined the scene in his mind: after the Chapter Master fought a fierce three-hundred-round battle with a heretic, he intended to feign a weakness to lure the enemy. Although the heretic fell for it, just as the Chapter Master was about to finish off his opponent, the power sword in his hand no longer emitted the blue light of the disintegration field, leaving only a scratch on the enemy's armor, but the enemy took the opportunity to cut the Chapter Master, man and sword, in two.
Aun let out a low growl: "No.—"
"Huh? Sir, did I say something wrong? I'm sorry, I—" the apprentice asked, flustered.
"No, it's not your fault, continue." The Space Marine explained somewhat awkwardly. He wanted to rush back now and tell the Chapter Master that this weakness would kill him, but the sword in his hand made him reluctant to leave.
Let the Chapter Master be in danger for a little longer, yes, just a little, no big deal, Aun thought.
"This improved version by Magos Gamma uses a technology he restored, a wireless power supply technology from humanity's Golden Age. You only need to install a small component at the external output interface of the power backpack to achieve wireless power supply for this power sword. As long as the power armor's energy is not exhausted, this power sword can have infinite endurance!"
"Sir, with this power sword, you just need to activate the disintegration field. How the opponent parries is something they'll have to consider much more!"
"Good!"
Aun also praised it. He felt this power sword was really good. With this power sword, he could cut xenos on the battlefield however he wanted. If he wanted to cut horizontally, he would cut horizontally. If he wanted to cut vertically, he would cut vertically.
He had long been tired of his chainsword, which became just a stick once its giant element ran out. He felt the Chapter's relic was no longer worthy of him.
The apprentice heard the Space Marine also praise it and began to think about how Magos Gamma would reward him, the first to sell an item. He had a hard time imagining it because Magos Gamma was famously generous.
His limited knowledge was insufficient to imagine the "greatness" of Magos Gamma.
But the inexperienced apprentice never knew that Space Marine did not have personal wealth they could control, so the possibility of him selling anything never existed from the start.
Under the apprentice's eager and fervent gaze, the Astartes, who could cut xenos without changing his expression, now wanted to run away. But he hadn't yet achieved his initial goal—to perform a set of sword techniques with the power sword, so he was still reluctant to leave.
Honor or power sword? Aun was hesitating, struggling, wavering—
"Oh, do you like this sword?"
"I do." Aun blurted out. After speaking, he regretted it. He looked down in the direction of the voice, discovering it was a human child.
Aun: Whose child is this...
"Magos Gamma, you've arrived." The apprentice bowed and greeted Magos Gamma.
Awesome! Aun praised the creator of this power sword in his heart.
"Good that you like it. Planning to get one?"
"..." The Space Marine responded silently.
Magos Gamma then slapped his forehead and said, "We haven't officially opened yet, and the price list hasn't been made public. My mistake."
Aun: Even if you publicize it, I can't afford it—
"Let me briefly explain."
No! I have no money! The Space Marine wanted to stop Magos Gamma from continuing, but he couldn't bring himself to speak.
"I accept minerals here, various materials like adamantium, plastisteel, ceramite, for exchange."
No, the Chapter has them, but I can't make decisions—the poor Space Marine thought helplessly.
"Tech relics are also acceptable, good or bad, the value of relics is much higher than materials."
Is the chainsword in my hand considered a relic? Several seniors in the Chapter have used it. They gave me their old ones when they got new ones, and it's been around for some years. The young Space Marine touched the chainsword at his waist, which was older than him, and began to fantasize whether this chainsword might have been passed down from the Great Crusade era.
"STC has the highest value."
The Space Marine remained silent.
Magos Gamma knew his demands were indeed difficult for an ordinary Space Marine, but these were all his preludes. What he said next was the key point. He continued:
"I'm staying here to help the Expeditionary Force in the Eun'er war zone deal with xenos, so xeno artifacts are also acceptable, but I only collect relatively complete ones. I plan to try to find their weaknesses through these xeno artifacts."
"Hmm!" The Space Marine finally reacted.
"Of course, I can't recover xeno artifacts without limits. I only collect three of each kind, first come, first served. We haven't opened yet, so if you have any in your spoils, you can bring them out."
Ah, why didn't I pick up all the xeno weapons from the battlefield? My power sword! Aun thought, annoyed, wanting to slap himself. He raised his hand to slap himself, but the bloodstains on his gauntlet reminded him that he still had a chance.
"Wait for me to come back!"
The Space Marine finished speaking and scurried away, so fast that the wind from his body blew off Magos Gamma's hood, revealing a stubborn cowlick. Magos Gamma and the apprentice looked at each other, but since the customer asked them to wait, they would wait. Aun was running, no longer caring if this would damage his Space Marine image. He had to retrieve his spoils before the cleanup crew cleared the bodies.
When he arrived at the scene where the traitors were executed, he saw from afar that people were already moving the traitors' bodies, almost missing out on the power sword again, which made him anxiously shout:
"Let go of that traitor, let me!"
According to the person responsible for the cleanup at the time, years later, he recalled that the Space Marine, panting heavily, with an expression of greed and desire on his face, who stripped the traitors' bodies clean, was the psychological shadow of his life.
Magos Gamma examined the small, blood-stained object in his hand and said, "Oh, this thing is quite interesting."
"Heh heh, Magos Gamma, what do you think?"
Aun asked in a somewhat fawning tone. As for whether his current appearance was undignified, he didn't care at all. He just loved hearing Magos Gamma say "quite interesting."
"Hmm, the Titan Empire's spy equipment is very cleverly designed, especially the stealth technology it incorporates."
"Magos Gamma has keen insight. We've suffered quite a bit from the Titan Empire's stealth technology."
"The item is good, but—"
But what! You little Tech-priest, your conscience is really bad, you just don't want to give me my Power Sword!
Aun recalled what the Technical Sergeant had said about how cunning Tech-priest were, always trying to find ways to earn more. Now he felt like a Grox waiting to be slaughtered in front of this little Tech-priest,
and the kind that offered his own head for the slaughter.
"Magos Gamma—" Aun's voice was pleading. He wanted that Power Sword so badly. The more he looked at it, the more he liked it, and the more he understood it, the more he disdained the one in the Chapter Master's hand. Compared to this one, his Chapter Master's was simply low-tier.
Magos Gamma, being stared at with a mournful expression by a three-meter tall man, felt a chill run down his spine and quickly finished his sentence:
"But, if you only trade for one Power Sword, you'd be at a great loss. Is there anything else you want?"
"It's all up to Magos Gamma! I'll take whatever you give me!" The Space Marine even performed the Aquila Imperialis gesture towards Magos Gamma, which roughly meant: Magos Gamma, my several hundred pounds are all yours, you decide.
Seeing the Space Marine so bright, Magos Gamma didn't refuse. After a moment of thought, he said, "Alright, come with me."
When Aun returned to the Penitent Chapter's stronghold after completing his mission, his return caused a stir among his battle brothers. The commotion quickly drew the attention of the Chapter Master and the Chief Priest.
When Chapter Master Douglas and the Priest arrived at the source of the commotion—recruit Aun's dormitory—they found Aun showing off the Power Sword in his hand and the Iron Halo behind his head to his battle brothers, along with his brand new Mark X Tacticus Power Armour.
"Look at this sword of mine, it's wirelessly powered, isn't it amazing!"
Aun swung the blue-glowing, crackling Power Sword in his hand and continued:
"The Chapter Master's will run out of power after a bit of use. What if it runs out of power during a fight with the enemy? Isn't that a huge weakness? Mine doesn't have that weakness, hehe."
Douglas (gritting teeth)
"The Iron Halo is also a new model, with stronger defense than the Chapter Master's old one."
Douglas (gritting teeth) = ○
"The Power Armour has also been improved. Listen, isn't the noise very low? Look, aren't my movements especially flexible? This is a master-crafted Power Armour, compared to—"
"Compared to the Chapter Master's, it's stronger, right!"
"Yes, you really have—Chapter Master, good!" Aun realized the person speaking was the Chapter Master he had been dissing, and immediately stood at attention. He felt he had gotten too carried away.
"Speak, what happened? Where did the armor and weapons come from?" Douglas asked Aun, with a forced smile.
The explanation process by Aun will not be detailed. After Douglas listened, his face darkened, and he motioned for other Astartes to subdue Aun. He pointed at Aun's nose and said:
"You didn't report such a big matter to me immediately! Don't you know how many brothers in the Chapter are still wearing old-style Power Armour, and how much equipment in the armory needs replenishment? What have your actions made us miss? And how many brothers will sacrifice themselves in vain because they don't have better weapons!"
"Lock him in the solitary confinement room for reflection!"
During his time in solitary confinement, Aun lived in guilt. He had actually cast aside the Chapter's interests for his own selfish desires. He wanted to atone for his mistakes. He wanted to go to the battlefield to slay Xenos, and he wanted to capture more Xenos weapons to exchange for better weapons for his battle brothers.
But when he came out of solitary confinement, he saw that old bastard Douglas wearing his Mark X,
holding his Power Sword, and wearing his Iron Halo, strolling around. As he passed by Aun, he didn't forget to say:
"Young man, the waters of this equipment set are too deep, you can't handle it. Let me, your Chapter Master, handle it for you!"
I will step by step, step by step, walk to the highest, I want to be "Aun-ga", I want to stuff this old bastard into a Dreadnought! Stuff him into a Dreadnought! o(▼dish▼×;)o
"Magos Gamma's Arms Supermarket" became famous in the Eun'er war zone. Now everyone knows that the weapons and equipment there are both "WAAAGH!" and affordable, and Magos Gamma is both talented and generous.
Every day, Astra Militarum, Battle Sisters, and Space Marine from the front lines come to Magos Gamma's shop with equipment stripped from Xenos to exchange for various weapons, from small ammunition to large vehicles.
Of course, the accompanying Tech-priest were also present. These Tech-priest, who only looked but didn't buy, were the most disliked by the apprentices. Whenever they spotted them, the apprentices would immediately drive them away.
"If you're not buying, leave. Others are waiting."
"You little apprentice, I am a Priest!"
"So what if you're a Priest? Does being a Priest mean you can steal technology?"
Upon hearing the apprentice's words, the Tech-Priest's face turned crimson, veins bulging on his forehead, and he argued:
"Borrowing cannot be considered stealing—borrowing—it's a Tech-Priest's business, can it be considered stealing?"
Having heard this too many times recently, the apprentice didn't want to waste words on these non-spending scoundrels.
The accompanying Tech-Priest thought the apprentice had been intimidated by him, and his behavior became even more unrestrained. Originally, he was just looking, but now he started touching. The fine tendrils of his detection and sensing mechanical arm extended and directly adhered to the machinery in front of him, while the apprentice merely watched silently from the side. Others, being non-Adeptus Mechanicus personnel, also found it difficult to intervene.
Just as people thought they would have to wait until the Tech-priest were satisfied before they could examine their desired weapons, the enforcer arrived. The apprentice's eyes lit up; the person he was waiting for had finally appeared. He pointed at the Tech-priest, who were still immersed in knowledge, and shouted:
"Blue Man Master, it's him!"
Blue Man Master didn't waste words. He rubbed his hands together, and with a crackling sound, he took down the Tech-priest, causing others to quickly distance themselves, fearing they might be caught in the crossfire.
"Shameless, aren't you? I love dealing with despicable types like you!"
Inside Magos Gamma's office on the Gear Boy, high-ranking officers of the Expeditionary Force from the Eun'er Star System were discussing with Magos Gamma how to bail out the detained accompanying Tech-priest. These accompanying Tech-priest were the fringe of the fringe within the Adeptus Mechanicus. Exiled, they were destined to be cut off from profound technological knowledge, yet they were indispensable cogs in the Imperium of Man's war machine; without them, this engine could not start.
"Gentlemen, I understand your intentions, but you should also know that I have been very restrained!" Magos Gamma said, spreading his hands with a pained and helpless expression to the Astra Militarum General, Space Marine Chapter Master, Battle Sister Superior, and Imperial Navy Admiral present.
These high-ranking officials, who wanted to retrieve their men from Magos Gamma, could only offer bitter smiles. They understood that Magos Gamma was not to blame, but without these Tech-priest, who would repair the broken vehicles and equipment?
"Magos Gamma, the war is urgent, so please be lenient!"
"Don't worry, I will release them, but I also hope you will restrain these accompanying Priests. Most of them are repeat offenders, and they are already starting to affect others' equipment purchases."
The senior commanders felt a sense of relief. They certainly didn't want to displease this "provider of sustenance" now. Previously, killing Xenos in war was just killing Xenos, and loyalty was the best reward. Now, with Magos Gamma willing to subsidize them out of his own pocket, killing Xenos no longer just meant "loyalty"; there was also all sorts of incredibly powerful equipment created by Magos Gamma.
Previously, the endless new weapons from the Titan Empire gave them headaches. Now, they actually felt that the Titan Empire's tricks were far too few. If they didn't come up with more new tricks, what would they use to exchange for the good stuff from Magos Gamma? They couldn't exchange it all, they simply couldn't exchange it all.
"Magos Gamma, rest assured, we have decided to prohibit accompanying Priests from coming to the spaceport."
"Uh—that's not necessary. There are still some good Priests; they shouldn't be implicated. Don't worry about it; I'll send more people to the market."
"Oh, by the way, how effective was the anti-stealth equipment I gave you last time?" Magos Gamma asked, posing the question he cared more about.
Chapter Master Douglas, wearing his master-crafted Mark X, took the question and replied, "It's very effective. The front lines have detected Xenos attempting stealth attacks several times already."
"That's good. This will reduce casualties for the soldiers on the front line. Just tell me directly if there's anything that needs improvement."
"The equipment is already excellent. Commanders of frontline units are almost fighting over the equipment."
"Alright, I'll expand production capacity as quickly as possible, but there's a problem now."
General Nick, Chapter Master Douglas, and High Sister Cyra all looked at Magos Gamma. They were very concerned about any problems faced by this talented, easy-going, and generous young Magos Gamma. If they upset him and he left, where would they find another one?
"When I set out, it was to deliver weapons to you. I didn't carry much raw material on the ship. After this period of consumption, it's almost at the bottom. I originally intended to replenish it through trade, but—"
The three important figures looked embarrassed after hearing this. It was they who had been playing the 'empty-handed white wolf' game by using 'junk' picked up on the battlefield. Magos Gamma didn't say it directly, but they understood his meaning. However, they weren't wealthy either. Furthermore, among the three of them, only Douglas had disposable raw materials, but those were consumables for maintaining ships and equipment, and couldn't be touched, and the quantity was small.
All three of them thought at the same time: It's over, this ancestor is going to run!
High Sister Cyra gave Douglas a look: Quickly, take out your emergency fund to cover this.
Chapter Master Douglas returned a look: You know it's my emergency fund, can that be used? Why don't you go find the Ecclesiarchy and think of a way?
General Nick interjected: How about requisitioning a batch of supplies from merchant ships?
Cyra, Douglas: You shut up! Aren't you afraid of scaring off all the merchant ships, so they'll avoid Eun'er in the future!
Magos Gamma looked at the three exchanging glances and gained a deeper understanding of the Imperium of Man's warfare.
In both his previous life and this one, Magos Gamma had often complained about the "World War II style" warfare in the warhammer universe. He had always been puzzled: even with space battleships, why did ground combat still involve digging trenches and engaging in "holy melee"? Xenos weren't as unreasonable as Daemons, were they?
But when he came to Eun'er and truly witnessed the war between humans and Xenos, he realized he had been too presumptuous. The Imperium of Man's way of war could be said to fully exploit its absolute advantage, belonging to "using one's strengths to attack the enemy's weaknesses."
Whenever ground combat occurred, the Imperium would release interference, putting both themselves and the enemy into a state of "severe nearsightedness." This state deprived both sides of the ability to strike at extreme long range. Ground-based orbital defense weapons and void shields also prevented space battleships from approaching planetary orbit, let alone orbital bombardment.
Without the ability to use long-range precision-guided weapons, ground warfare inevitably devolved into close-quarters combat between soldiers. Turning the war into a "war of attrition" was the Imperium's way of defeating its enemies.
The Imperium of Man's greatest advantage is not its technological level, but its more than a million worlds and endless population. No Xenos can defeat the Imperium in a war of attrition!
No matter how powerful the opponent, once they fall into the Imperium's rhythm of war, their ultimate fate is to be drowned by the Imperium's forces, numbered in the billions.
After understanding why the war developed into a "WWII style," Magos Gamma began to feel that Xenos were just easy prey for humans. The small Titan Empire was nothing special; once the Imperium caught its breath, it could be easily crushed.
Fortunately, reality soon gave "Uchiha Gamma," who at a young age already possessed the mindset of a High Lord, a slap to make him sober up.
