Chapter 95 - Chapter 95 - Dealing with Abigail

To say Johnny Blaze was unlucky would be an understatement. Whether it was because he was standing too close to Abigail or because he had just finished off the Water Demon in the water, Li Feng hadn't noticed him when casting the spell and ended up trapping him in the Mirror Dimension as well while he was still submerged.

Now, there were three people inside the Mirror Dimension.

By the time the Ghost Rider and Abigail realized what had happened, they immediately fixed hostile gazes on Li Feng.

A two-on-one fight? Hell no, I can't take that!

Feeling uneasy under their stares, Li Feng rubbed his temples and joked, "Fighting is illegal these days, and all that violence just ruins relationships. How about we play a few rounds of Landlord to pass the time instead?"

Johnny Blaze, who was solely focused on Rosie's safety, was having none of it. Who in their right mind would want to play cards with a demon and a dark mage? Pointing at Li Feng's nose, he snapped, "You'd cheat—pfft—you're guilty!"

Li Feng glanced sideways at the Ghost Rider, now engulfed in flames, rolled his eyes, and opened a portal. As he shifted it toward Johnny Blaze, he said, "Yes, I'm guilty. Guilty of sleeping with your girlfriend, guilty of getting her pregnant with my child, guilty of naming the kid 'Johnny Blaze Li,' and most guilty of spanking little 'Johnny Blaze Li's' butt for fun whenever I felt like it."

Nearby, Abigail's eyes lit up when he saw Li Feng open the portal. He knew full well that his strength had originally been on par with Li Feng's, but he had been injured by the Ghost Rider earlier, and the Hellfire's lingering effects still hadn't healed.

In the real world, even if he couldn't win, he could at least escape. But inside the Mirror Dimension, not only did Li Feng have a pack of Dementors as backup, there was also nowhere to hide—the space was just that small. Where could he possibly go?

Most importantly, inside the Mirror Dimension, there wasn't even a breeze, let alone strong winds. His wind-based spells couldn't be amplified, and his strength was inexplicably suppressed by a significant margin.

The moment that portal closed, even if Abigail fought Li Feng with everything he had, his chances of winning were slim at best.

Realizing he might still have a shot at survival, Abigail didn't hesitate—he transformed into wind, intending to slip through the portal alongside the Ghost Rider. Li Feng only spared a sidelong glance at the Ghost Rider, keeping his main focus squarely on Abigail. So when Abigail transformed into wind, Li Feng curled his lips disdainfully. While accelerating the movement of the portal, he pointed a finger at Abigail.

Then, Abigail helplessly collided with a transparent shield, forced to watch as Johnny Blaze exited the mirror dimension.

Still attempting to save herself, Abigail reverted to human form, straightening her collar as she said, "Human mage, is it really worth risking your life for S.H.I.E.L.D.? Life belongs to oneself alone. Even if you're confident you can kill me, the resources expended in battle or the injuries sustained are yours alone to bear—and S.H.I.E.L.D. certainly won't reimburse you for them."

Did he think I was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent?

The corners of Li Feng's mouth twitched slightly, but he didn't refute her words. Instead, he turned his head toward Abigail, his face brimming with righteous fervor as he declared, "S.H.I.E.L.D. stands as the barrier between the normal world and the supernatural. As an upright and benevolent human, it is both my duty and my right to send you back to hell."

"Bro, you're a dark mage, not a holy priest. Are you trying to make me die laughing with that act?"

Abigail's eye twitched as she pointed at Li Feng's right hand. "If not for the magical energy radiating from your hand, I might've actually believed you."

As she spoke, Abigail not only transformed into wind but also slashed a Wind Blade toward Li Feng.

Li Feng didn't even bother dodging. He simply raised a shield with his left hand, watching as the Wind Blade struck before him. "Where do you think you can hide? My psychic senses have already locked onto you. Plus—" At this point, Li Feng fired a time-stasis spell at Abigail. When it missed, he shrugged indifferently and gestured toward the swarming Dementors with a grin. "They don't know the meaning of exhaustion. And every time you fly past them, they'll siphon off another fragment of your soul. I reckon in a little while, I won't even need to lift a finger—my adorable little pets will have devoured your soul clean."

At this point, Abigail wasn't without thoughts of tearing the Dementors apart with her bare hands. But she had no idea what kind of bizarre creatures these Dementors were.

When she reached out to grab them, they didn't resist—yet not only did Abigail fail to seize them, her hands instead became coated in a layer of frost from their freezing aura.

Had Abigail not reacted swiftly, her entire form might have been encased in ice, forcing her back into human shape and leaving her utterly at Li Feng's mercy.

Next, Abigail attempted to repel the Dementors with energy-based attacks like Wind Blades. Yet the Dementors remained unfazed, calmly advancing through the slashing winds.

In Abigail's stunned disbelief, the Dementors allowed the Wind Blades to pass harmlessly through their bodies, baring their fangs and claws as they lunged at her with their freezing aura. After a few tentative attacks, Abigail decisively abandoned the idea of killing the Dementors. He understood that these creatures, like him, belonged to the dark category. Without light-based spells, he had no way to deal with these disgusting Dementors.

The problem was, as a Devil, where could he learn light-based spells? Even if he wanted to, he couldn't—his skill template had already blocked all light-based spells. Of course, if Li Feng were willing to give him time to calmly study the Dementors, he might find a way to kill them. But would Li Feng grant him that time?

With no other options, Abigail could only dodge the Dementors' attacks to prevent his soul from being drained.

When faced with a large group of Dementors surrounding him, Abigail didn't dare stay in one place for too long. He feared both the Dementors sucking out his soul and the spell Li Feng had already prepared, which could obliterate him in an instant.

He could tell—the spell Li Feng shot at him might look like a simple water orb, but it was fundamentally a time-based spell! Who knew what would happen if he got hit by a time spell? At the very least, it would mean certain doom.

But as his chances of survival dwindled, Abigail, realizing he had nowhere left to run, flitted east to evade the Dementors and then west to dodge Li Feng's spell. In a frantic voice, he pleaded, "I'm willing to submit to you as my master. I swear on my true name—just don't kill me."

Hearing Abigail's voice echo from all directions, Li Feng chuckled, ignoring his desperate plea. With a snap of his fingers, he cast a spell and said, "I gave you a chance before, but you didn't take it. Now you want a second chance? You must still be dreaming. Besides, you're a Devil—how much of what you say can I trust?"

Abigail's pupils shrank as he felt the mirrored space inexplicably shrink by half. Instinctively, he shouted, "You're also proficient in spatial magic?!"

"I know a lot of things," Li Feng said confidently, patting his satchel. "Not just time and spatial magic." As he spoke, he pulled out the Scythe and added, "I can personally take your soul. And compared to the Dementors' little nibbles, my bite is much bigger—maybe enough to kill you in one go. Want to try?"

At that moment, Li Feng's mental energy pinpointed Abigail's location. Without hesitation, he raised the Scythe and opened a portal right behind Abigail. In one swift motion, the blade sliced through the wind where Abigail had transformed.

Now, forget touching the blade—even holding the long pole of the Scythe left Li Feng intermittently drained of his vitality by Cat Sith. So when the blade directly cut through Abigail, the damage was beyond severe.

Not only did it force Abigail back into human form, but it also left him dazed as he collapsed to the ground. Seeing this, Li Feng's eyes lit up as he swiftly completed the spell, trapping Abigail in temporal stasis.

Watching Abigail become encased in swirling water, Li Feng panted slightly while tossing the Scythe into his satchel. He then pulled out a vial of Eternal Spring Water from the bag and took a quick sip.

There was no helping it—he had wielded the Scythe barehanded without wearing the skull mask earlier. Though Cat Sith hadn't drained much of his vitality, there was still some loss.

Health comes first in life. Without it, all your wealth and loved ones will leave you. So even the slightest bodily damage should be treated as early as possible.

After returning the Eternal Spring Water to his satchel, Li Feng stood solemnly before Abigail and began extracting all of her memories.

Originally, Abigail had been summoned by Li Feng. Though he wasn't sure if she knew he was the one who provided S.H.I.E.L.D. with corpse resurrection technology, he now worried she might have shared the secret of resurrected corpses being able to wield a Devil's full power with other Devils.

If hordes of Devils learned this secret, Li Feng figured he'd better flee immediately—because the Ancient One would undoubtedly be the first to come for his life.

Thus, examining Abigail's memories was essential. Plus, he could simultaneously identify where the loophole in their original contract was and acquire Abigail's spells.

Soon after completing the memory extraction, Li Feng turned to Wangcai, who was floating behind him drooling with greed, and said, "Dinner time."

No sooner had he spoken than Wangcai's eyes gleamed (don't ask how Li Feng could tell—he just could, even though Wangcai was just a skull) as the spirit pounced on Abigail like a ravenous dog, voraciously devouring fragments of her soul.

Though Abigail only had one soul left—most of it already consumed by Cat Sith—its quality was exceptional. Before long, Wangcai was rubbing its belly, signaling it was full and letting its kin enjoy the feast.

A while later, with his Magic Eye confirming Abigail had been utterly annihilated down to the last speck, Li Feng contentedly opened a portal.

Returning to the real world, Li Feng narrowed his eyes at the town of Saint V'Angelo. Now, regarding the resurrected corpses matter, apart from the already dust-scattered Abigail, only the Witch Heart Demon remained—lurking in the distance while suspecting Abigail had possessed special abilities.
